About Me: Hello, I'm Nhi, a dedicated first-generation social work intern in my second year at Columbia University's School of Social Work. I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Grinnell College and bring a deeply personal understanding of mental health challenges shaped by my own experiences as an Asian American in foster care. My journey has been profoundly influenced by the intersection of intergenerational trauma, immigration, and systemic inequalities, providing me with a unique perspective on the complexities of healing and resilience. My Approach: I believe that trauma and mental health struggles do not exist in a vacuum—they are often reflections of broader societal issues. Growing up in a family affected by intergenerational trauma, poverty, and systemic discrimination, I understand firsthand the cascading effects these forces can have on a person's mental and emotional well-being, even into adulthood. This insight drives my therapeutic approach, where I aim to provide a compassionate, culturally sensitive space for clients to explore their experiences and find healing. I bring extensive experience working with diverse populations and complex trauma. During my time as a case manager at a domestic violence shelter, I supported individuals and families from all walks of life, many of whom were dealing with overlapping traumas, including domestic violence, mental health struggles, homelessness, childhood trauma, and identity-based discrimination. This experience reinforced my belief that trauma and mental health challenges are often intertwined with larger societal issues. Mental health challenges can significantly impact daily functioning, even long after the precipitating events have occurred. In some cases, there may be no clear cause, yet the impact is still profound. Regardless of the situation, everyone deserves support in their healing journey. In my practice, I adopt a flexible, client-centered approach, tailoring my methods to meet each individual's unique needs and strengths. I utilize a range of therapeutic techniques, including trauma-informed therapy, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I believe every person has the inherent capacity to navigate their challenges, and my role is to support, empower, and provide tools for their journey toward healing. What to Expect: In our work together, you can expect a supportive, non-judgmental environment where your experiences are honored, and your voice is central to the healing process. I am committed to understanding your story in its full context, recognizing the multiple layers of identity and experience that shape who you are. Whether you're dealing with personal trauma, managing day-to-day stressors, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I'm here to walk alongside you, providing the guidance and support you need. I am a pre-licensed therapist intern at Sol Health working under the supervision of Susan Chung, LCSW, MPH. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapists in-training accruing clinical hours. I’ve always thought that the most beautiful and interesting trees in the forest are the ones that grow into unique forms, shaped by their environment but finding a way to adapt and thrive. Similarly, life’s challenges can shape us in profound ways, but they can also leave us feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck. I’m Rob Gooding, a second-year graduate student at St. Bonaventure University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals navigate these challenges and uncover their inner resilience to live fulfilling and authentic lives. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for growth and healing. To me, it’s a privilege to walk alongside clients as they share their stories and embark on their journey toward self-discovery and empowerment. My approach is grounded in person-centered principles, recognizing that you are the expert in your own life. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, valued, and supported. By integrating evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Solution-Focused Therapy, I work with clients to reframe negative thought patterns, develop practical skills, and prioritize their needs. Together, we’ll build tools to navigate challenges with confidence and clarity. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, academic pressures, identity exploration, or life transitions, you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to help you rediscover your strengths, adapt to life’s demands, and create meaningful change. Just like those unique trees in the forest, your story is one of resilience and growth – and it would be an honor to support you on your path. Robert Gooding is a therapist in-training at Sol Health. With 15 years’ experience as a bilingual Psychotherapist working with very diverse populations from adults to adolescents who experience depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD I learned that not everyone feels comfortable going to speak to a therapist in a traditional setting like an office. This is why I offer “Walk Talk Therapy” and mobile therapy. I want to eliminate as many barriers as possible for you to get the help you need. Just as we are all encouraged to exercise for our physical health, I believe everyone should connect with a professional therapist to strengthen one’s emotional health. Relationship Issues Self Esteem Stress Anger Management Anxiety Behavioral Issues Career Counseling Codependency Coping Skills Family Conflict Infidelity Life Coaching Life Transitions Marital and Premarital Men's Issues Parenting Peer Relationships Racial Identity Spirituality Fabián’s clinical experience includes: a college counseling center, an inpatient traumatic brain injury unit, mental health clinics, mobile crisis unit, substance abuse, HIV, family court and child protective services with a specialization in childhood sexual abuse and trauma. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of experience working with adolescents and adults. I have extensive experience with survivors of trauma, and often use a trauma-informed lens. I focus on issues that impact the life cycle, including relationship stressors, parenting challenges, career choices, managing the effects of chronic illness, and dealing with aging parents. In addition, I am skilled at helping clients and families deal with end of life issues, grief and bereavement. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression and post traumatic stress disorder. I believe the connection between the therapist and the client is paramount, and I work hard to build a therapeutic alliance with my clients by always meeting them where they are emotionally, spiritually and cognitively. I am direct and supportive at the same time, and believe strongly in people's ability to change their lives. It is a privilege to share space with a client when they are experiencing challenges, and I often tell my clients that I will hold the hope for them until they are able to do so themselves. Please reach out if you think we might work well together.

Clinical Social Work/Therapist
New York, NY

Hello, I am Mary Brodsky, LCSW, and I have 25 years of experience helping people struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, childhood trauma, and work-related issues, among others. My practice was in New York City for most of my career, and many of my clients have been people in the arts. I have worked with clients of all ages, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and life circumstances. Also, I am open to exploring people’s spiritual and religious beliefs and have found this can be an essential part of healing in therapy. In my experience, a positive and supportive relationship with a skilled therapist has been most helpful and healing for clients. This relationship is something that I try to cultivate with each of my clients as a basis for our work together. My approach with clients is psychodynamic, eclectic, and insight-oriented, which means we will be looking at recurrent patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Psychodynamics seeks to heal by gaining emotional insight into the connection between past difficult experiences and current problems. As in cognitive behavioral approaches, I look at the content of thoughts, but understanding how and why those thought patterns developed is critical. Please be aware that our first few sessions will be for us to get to know one another and to evaluate, together, if we are a good fit and can work together effectively to help you to heal. Once we gain an initial understanding of your issues and goals, we will come up with how we may best address them. The path to healing is different for everyone, and you and I will together find the approach that is the most effective for you. This may include coming up with self-soothing or coping strategies, understanding and analyzing dreams, or looking at the impact of early trauma. You are unique, and I will adapt how I work with you accordingly. You may have many questions and concerns if this is your first time working with a therapist. I am always open to these and hope you will feel empowered to give me honest feedback about how you would like us to work together. I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. I am committed to making therapy affordable. Through Path, I am in-network for most commercial insurances, so you're only responsible for your co-pay!

As your therapist, I will help you know yourself in a deeper way. In doing so, you will be better equipped to enact changes in your life that will lead to greater happiness and a sense of well-being. We cannot erase negative past experiences. We can, however, work together to help you to better understand and to respond to these experiences in more constructive ways. Using a variety of therapeutic approaches, I will help you to become more aware of your long standing, negative behavioral patterns which are getting in your way of resolving challenges and of establishing and meeting your goals in life. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, conflicted relationships, work stress and identity issues. As an alternative to therapy, I also offer coaching services for clients working toward specific personal goals in the areas of career/work, self care (e.g. weight loss, improved work-life balance, meditation/mindfulness practices) and relationships. In addition to my 5th Avenue office, I have offices on East 57th St and in Great Neck, Long Island. I also provide therapy online to residents of NY State.
