Therapy for Young Adults Living with Loss and Grief in New York Navigating the overwhelming waves of grief can leave you feeling isolated, even when surrounded by those who care. You might find yourself holding back tears at work, striving to maintain composure while your world feels upside down. Socializing may amplify your loneliness, as peers struggle to grasp the depth of your loss. Perhaps your thoughts are consumed by "what ifs" and "if onlys," leaving little room for anything else. The person you once turned to is gone, and you're left wondering how to move forward without them. Imagine a life where memories of your loved one bring comfort instead of only pain. You feel connected to others, no longer overwhelmed by loneliness. Each day, you rediscover joy and purpose, engaging fully in relationships, work and hobbies. Therapy can help you honor their memory while embracing your own future. I'm a licensed psychotherapist with over a decade of experience, as well as a human who's experienced loss myself. Together we'll create a safe, non-judgmental space to navigate your emotions and build healthy coping mechanisms. Reach out today for a free consultation with someone who actually "gets it."

Therapy can deepen your capacity for love, trust, and connection — with yourself and with others. I’ve seen it ease depression, anxiety, and shame; strengthen self-esteem; and help people become more resilient during life’s ups and downs. Most of all, it can bring forward a truer, more authentic self. Therapy is a collaborative process. You speak, and I listen closely — for what’s said and what lies beneath the surface — helping you see what may be getting in the way of a more fulfilling life. As Carl Rogers wrote: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” I’ve found that to be true. Patients find it helpful to explore childhood, memories that bubble up, dreams, feelings, fears, wishes — whatever arises. Our aim is an understanding of your inner world that leads to meaningful action & choice. With couples, I help you listen more clearly & break entrenched patterns. Everyone longs to be seen and heard & I'll help you arrive at that place. As a therapist and writer, I’m inspired to help each patient take hold of their narrative — understanding where they’ve come from & where they’d like to go. As we get to know one another, I tailor my style to your personality and needs. Your feedback is always encouraged. Email me to schedule a consultation & see if we’re a good fit. Do you struggle with setting boundaries, people pleasing, or burning out from perfectionism and a constantly full calendar? Maybe you're juggling school, work, relationships, family expectations, and everything else life throws at you while still feeling like you should be doing more. You might be the person others turn to, but underneath the surface, you're anxious, overwhelmed, or struggling with self doubt. I'm an LCSW with 9 years of experience working with college students and professionals, with a focus on the queer community, neurodivergent individuals, and people living with chronic illness. I've supported clients navigating ADHD, anxiety, burnout, LGBTQ+ identity, complex family and relationship dynamics, substance use, and trauma. I'm trained in CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and executive functioning strategies. It can be challenging to balance everyday life while figuring out what actually works for you. Maybe you struggle to meet deadlines, keep track of everything, shift between tasks, or figure out where to even begin when there's too much on your plate. Add perfectionism, burnout, identity, relationships, or family and community expectations into the mix, and it can be hard to know what you actually need or where your own needs end and everyone else's begin. These patterns often have roots in earlier relationships and experiences, including family dynamics that shape how we relate to ourselves and others. In therapy, we'll explore both the past and present to understand these patterns while building new perspectives, coping skills, and ways of responding that honor your needs. We’ll work together to identify what you want to change and what might be getting in the way. This might look like setting boundaries with family, working through perfectionism, figuring out why you keep getting stuck, finding ways to manage school or work without constantly feeling behind, building more confidence in yourself, or navigating major life transitions. No matter your goals, I’ll be here to support you with warmth, curiosity, silliness, and honesty.

Do you find yourself stuck in patterns of procrastination and perfectionism, or at the mercy to your own self critic? Does it feel like you get caught up in moving away from negative experiences instead of moving towards meaningful ones? I am committed to helping my clients face the obstacles that get in the way of leading rich, meaningful lives. As a clinical psychologist, I specialize in treating anxiety-related issues including generalized anxiety, OCD, panic, social anxiety, and phobias. I also help my patients develop effective tools to manage stress, procrastination, perfectionism, problematic eating. I use evidence-based approaches, thoughtfully employed to match your needs, strengths, and temperament. I employ a warm, empathetic, and collaborative approach, and together we’ll work to approach your struggles with curiosity and empowerment. Through the practice of new habits and behaviors, you can bring meaningful change out of the therapy room and into your life. As such, we will work to set meaningful treatment goals, and then collaboratively develop ways to purposefully move towards these goals. Please reach out with any questions or to set up a time to talk. I look forward to connecting.

Hi & welcome. My college years were a time of great learning and friendship, and also, of significant loss. This led to my own passion of supporting young adults facing challenges and grief during this important life stage. I have extensive experience working with grieving individuals - children, teens, college students, and adults - including after incidents of mass trauma. My practice (CT/NY) also provides support to those struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, family and relationship difficulties, academic and career challenges, self-doubt, and stressors due to caregiving. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and results-oriented and incorporates elements of psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). I also value the role of creative expression and appreciate how art, play, and narrative therapies impact healing. I value each client as unique and resilient. I offer compassion, warmth, and humor as we collaborate to work towards building on your strengths, increasing your coping skills, and creating the changes you hope to see. We're a team and we got this!

I’m a queer Black femme therapist who believes you are the expert of your own experience. I’m here to walk alongside you with warmth, curiosity, and care, while offering a space where all of you is welcome, including the parts that may feel heavy, hidden, or hard to hold. My approach is collaborative, nonjudgmental, sex-positive, and deeply affirming of trans folks and queer people of color. I believe healing happens in connection, and I strive to co-create a space where you feel seen, respected, and supported exactly as you are. My work is rooted in psychodynamic and relational therapy, with elements of mindfulness, CBT, and narrative therapy woven in to meet your unique needs. I show up with empathy, presence, and care. I’ll also gently challenge you and ask questions that invite reflection and growth. I don’t believe in “fixing” people. Instead, I see therapy as a collaborative process where we explore together, honor your truth, and build something meaningful in relationship. I believe healing happens when we both bring our full, authentic selves into the room. We’ll talk about heavy things, but that doesn’t mean it always has to feel heavy.
