You’ve been wondering why you do & feel the things you do—why specific behaviors keep repeating, why you feel stuck, no matter how much you try to change. You’ve done the self-help books, the podcasts, maybe a few short-term therapy stints, but you still find yourself repeating the same patterns. I help curious, motivated people ready to go deeper than symptom management. Together, we’ll explore the hidden patterns, emotional blocks, & past experiences that still shape your present. Our work will be thoughtful & challenging in the best way — the kind of therapy that helps you grow in ways you didn’t know were possible. My approach blends Psychodynamic Therapy with elements of CBT, DBT, Black feminist theory, empowerment, and sociopolitical thought. This allows us to work at both a deep, exploratory level and a practical, skill-based level, always tailored to you. Therapy can be challenging at times—it asks you to face yourself honestly—but it can also be profoundly enriching and life-changing. I work best with clients who are ready to commit to weekly, twice-weekly, or thrice-weekly sessions, so we can create the momentum & depth needed for real transformation. If you’re ready to begin that journey, send me an email.

We'll work on becoming more flexible, brave, wise, purposeful and self-accepting - all in the service of what matters most to you.

I focus on a holistic approach to counseling and meeting you where you are at in your process. I take an integrative approach to therapy, combining evidence-based techniques such as CBT and mindfulness practices with psychodynamic insight. I believe that therapy is a journey of self-discovery and growth, so we’ll work together to identify the causes of your challenges, develop coping strategies, and create lasting change. Therapy is a partnership, and it’s important that you feel comfortable and heard. About My Practice My practice is centered around helping individuals work through the emotional challenges that leave them feeling stuck. I know that reaching out for help can be a vulnerable step, and I’m here to support you as you navigate your unique dilemmas. Together, we’ll explore what’s weighing on you and find a path toward healing and relief. My Approach With over six years of experience in the field, my practice has been influenced by Compassionate Inquiry, developed by Gabor Maté, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. These approaches help you understand and connect with yourself more deeply. Through Compassionate Inquiry, we’ll uncover the root causes of your challenges, leading to greater self-acceptance and clarity. IFS allows you to connect with different parts of yourself, helping to heal inner conflicts and promote self-compassion. Healing and Growth I’m dedicated to helping you connect with your core self while releasing the burdens that hold you back. Many people struggle with self-worth, self-control, and the weight of past experiences. My approach helps those trapped in destructive patterns attain more flexibility and freedom. Within the safety of our relationship, you can begin to let go of pain and find relief in the present from whatever has been burdening you. How We Will Work Everybody thinks and feels at their own speed. We will spend as much time as needed to find a pace and flow that works well for you. As we do, we will explore your inner resources and develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. This journey can lead to a more authentic life filled with meaningful relationships and a renewed sense of possibility. Along the way, I will do all that I can to create a welcoming space where you can share your experiences without judgment while feeling truly seen.
I consider the relationship between client and therapist one of the most important factors in therapy. As a therapist, my goal is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental space so I can assist others in exploring negative patterns in their lives and help them develop new tools to foster positive coping skills. I utilize a holistic approach to therapy, with special focus on the body and mind and how they interact. As a registered yoga teacher, my treatment approach places emphasis on turning inward and reconnecting with the body to help release stored emotions. I use a trauma-informed approach to life issues with clients and incorporate mindfulness skills, somatic movement, and breathwork into my therapy practice. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, PTSD, and mood disorders. Additionally, I work with clients who are experiencing grief and loss, life transitions, addiction, caregiver stress, interpersonal/relationship problems, and codependency.
Your present need not be your future! Life isn’t always easy. Today you may be anxious, depressed, stuck, overwhelmed, flunking out, and/or obsessed. Tomorrow can be different. The path to a better future may involve courageously exploring emotions or it may involve learning and practicing new habits or strategies. Sometimes little changes cause dramatic results. My specialty is working with you to determine what will work best for you. To this task I bring great depth and breadth of experience. I was actually a college dropout before I became a Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist after first becoming an Educational & Career Counselor & then applying my knowledge & skills on myself. I’ve been in private practice as a therapist for over 30 years, have consulted to hospitals for decades as a Clinical Neuropsychologist, taught the graduate course Neuropsychology to psychology doctoral students for 18 years, created the graduate course Nutrition, Brain and Behavior, provided lectures on neuropsychology for medical students and residents through Harvard Medical School’s Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and created many continuing education courses for psychologists and lectured college counselors nationwide on improving college performance. I’ve done thousands of assessments encompassing ADHD, learning disability, autism, memory disorders, executive dysfunction, anxiety disorders and depression, yet, despite this I do not think in terms of these labels. Most sessions begin with screening not to assign a diagnosis but determination of the type of psychotherapy or lifestyle changes with which you are likely to feel most comfortable. Take the first step towards a better tomorrow.
We come to therapy with our struggles. The hope is that we leave them behind, and go forward in life with freedom and joy. I am here to offer counseling and therapeutic support to you as you unburden yourself of limitation, and seek your innate capacity for transformation. My job is to care about you as you learn just how deeply you can care for you, too. To me, therapy is listening deeply – I listen to you. And you listen to yourself, to hear your irreplaceable, undivided, internally original voice. I am inspired always by the incredible power, dignity and strength it shows every time you simply arrive in session. All of my work is embraced with the spirit of mindfulness meditation, of which I have been a devoted student for over 15 years. Mindfulness is simply allowing our thoughts the space to be seen fully, in a non-judgmental way, so that we may see ourselves clearly, with compassion, and choose our course in life with wisdom. I happily look forward to offering you support and guidance through whatever challenge you face right now. Together let’s transform your struggle into strength.
