I create warm, accepting, and collaborative relationships that anchor and support people as they problem-solve, deepen their understanding of their own needs, set goals, and move towards the changes they want in their lives. Trained as a psychologist and psychoanalyst, I emphasize the way that relationships shape us. I work with adults-- including undergraduate and graduate students- who are struggling with change or loss related to life transitions, relational issues, aloneness, anxiety, trauma, achievement issues, and grief. I'm an active listener, who is described by my patients as warm, flexible, and collaborative. I see people in my office, located in Concord center or via telehealth.

I work with college students impacted by trauma and those who struggle with attention deficit and social difficulties in a long-term therapeutic relationship. I am particularly passionate about working with those on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. I have expertise in relational trauma, substance abuse, and social difficulties in the context of major life transitions. I am also practiced in working through executive dysfunction and autism spectrum disorders. I also conduct neuropsychological and psychological assessment and testing. If you feel that you are struggling with attention, social deficits, memory, planning, or other areas of executive functioning, neuropsychological testing might help.

Welcome! I'm a licensed psychologist specializing in providing treatment to young adults facing a variety of mental health concerns. I am committed to understanding and addressing the unique challenges that young people (especially girls and women) encounter today. I strive to foster a safe, non-judgmental, and nurturing environment for clients to explore their emotions, better understand and express themselves, and develop the resilience and coping skills required to effectively manage the challenges they encounter. I employ evidence-based therapeutic approaches that are tailored to each individual's unique needs and developmental stage. Common concerns I treat include: anxiety and stress, depression/mood disorders, behavioral and emotional dysregulation, social problems, family conflict, and trauma-related issues. I also provide comprehensive psychological assessments. My psychological evaluations can help gain diagnostic clarity, identify underlying issues (e.g., learning disorders, ADHD, mood disorders, etc.), and assist with treatment and educational planning.

I believe therapy offers the opportunity to become who you really are. People are often unaware of all of the factors that are keeping them stuck, creating dissatisfaction, or causing distressing symptoms. By developing a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships through therapy, it becomes possible to experience your life more authentically, feel better in your relationships, and move toward what is enriching or important to you. I provide a reliable and empathic setting where we can carefully understand the difficulties you are experiencing – leading to relief, personal growth and lasting change. I provide psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Of note, I have a sliding scale for psychoanalysis patients. As a board-certified psychiatrist I can also prescribe, when indicated, psychiatric medications – either in combination with or separate from therapy. When medications are considered, I will work collaboratively with you to make shared treatment decisions while carefully weighing the risks, benefits and alternatives to medication. I have extensive experience helping patients with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, low self-esteem, ADHD, OCD, identity questions and more. I also have a special interest in working with LGBTQ+ individuals. In addition to my practice, I’m also a Teaching Associate at Harvard Medical School and a member of the Boston Psychoanalytic Society & Institute. I completed my Adult Psychiatry Residency training at Cambridge Health Alliance / Harvard Medical School. I welcome you to email me or call with questions or to schedule a free consultation.

Are you looking for a neutral person to lend an open ear? A box of tissues? A high-five? Or some sound advice? Therapy can provide you all of those things and lead to a transformation in your life. I have seen it first hand in my work with individuals and families. They initially feel very overwhelmed and hopeless. Once we establish a relationship, push through the resistance to change and the "hard stuff"; new chapters quickly start to write themselves. This is the most rewarding part of my career, helping others see their true potential.

I believe we all grow and heal differently. Sometimes it's through exercise, music, quality time with loved ones or the occasional tv marathon; and sometimes it's through the relationship created in therapy where your whole self can be seen without judgment or shame. I support high schoolers, college & graduate students, and adults dealing with a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, major life & relationship transitions, identity development, as well as those seeking an edge in sport/mental performance. I bring an honest, curious, and eclectic approach, striving to make therapy flexible and interactive. I am solution-focused, often combining IFS and CBT with motivational enhancement, mind-body integration, mindfulness, and positive psychology. I aim to highlight and expand your compassion, courage, confidence, and coping skills. If you are adjusting to something new, discovering who you are, or motivated to make a meaningful change, let's dive in. Together, we will work towards harnessing your inner strengths while mending the parts that make life feel challenging. I look forward to greeting you with patience, acceptance, and warmth.

I work with older teens and young adults who are typically struggling with more than one thing that leads to feeling really big emotions. A common co-occurrence is ADHD/Anxiety, but it could be any combination - mood disorder and autism, social anxiety and feeling angry all the time...having more than one thing at a time makes it more difficult to figure out what to do about those big emotions, which is where I come in. I help figure out what's going on, what are some tools that can help those emotions, and how you can start recognizing when that surge of emotion is coming before it becomes unmanageable.

My approach to treatment is to create a space that is supportive and empathetic so that the client will be in a place to build rapport, explore issues that are interfering with their quality of life, and develop a better sense of goals and the means to reach them. I operate from a Strength-based and Cognitive-behavioral therapy lens with elements of other modalities. I am a strong believer in using mindfulness when approaching issues like anxiety and depression. I see the client as a person affected by the systems that make up their lives. I understand the importance of family work as a part of the process of helping an individual. The most important aspect of treatment is the relationship between the therapist and the client. Without trust, it is impossible to get any real work done. When you walk into my office you can expect a space that is free of judgment and completely client-centered.

I have worked with college students struggling with a wide range of difficulties and acuity over the past decade plus, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. I have a casual yet professional style, and prioritize creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can increase awareness of their emotional and relational patterns. I pull from several orientations, including psychodynamic/relational, emotion-focused, CBT, acceptance-based, and compassion-based approaches in order to make sense of your difficulties with you and to identify ways to change, or as is the case in the many situations that we can’t change, learn to relate to it differently. My clients express appreciation for my transparent, collaborative, compassionate, and well-informed approach. I am interested and have experience in working with clients from diverse backgrounds, including racial and ethnic minorities. I try to understand clients in context and I seek to bring in societal issues and -isms to understand clients experiences in the world. I am open to talking about my own identity and position in society. I have openings for telehealth clients located in Massachusetts, NC, or any participating Psypact state. I accept Aetna in MA. I accept Aetna and BCBS in NC. Please email me if you would like to schedule a free initial call to answer any questions and assess whether we may be a good match.
