Welcome to sfpsychiatric services. I look forward to working with college students with various backgrounds and issues. My training and experience provides me with an expertise working with this age group. It is truly a pleasure working with this population. This developmental phase brings many challenges as well as rewards as students enter into young adulthood. Having a trusted person to explore and process the adjustment is invaluable. Each person is unique and I treat everyone as an individual which guides my clinical decisions. I have over 25 years of experience working with people from a childhood to adulthood. I provide medication management and psycho-therapy as needed to students in Connecticut and Massachusetts. I take pride in my non-judgmental style, my ability to connect well with others, and most importantly competence and integrity.
Many of us experience stress and anxiety on a daily basis. While sometimes we feel in control of these emotions, other times it can feel like they are controlling us. Whether you are dealing with day-to-day stressors, or those brought on by major life transitions, learning how to identify and manage the feelings you experience can be vital to having happy, healthy relationships with others and with yourself. It’s my belief that each individual is the expert on themselves. My role in sessions is to be curious and work with you to explore challenges, experiences, and emotions. Through this exploration we can create a “tool box” of skills and strategies that work best for you. I encourage you to reach out if you are interested in starting services. Finding a therapist who is right for you is important, and I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have!
When your car breaks down on the side of the road you don’t hesitate to call for assistance because you don’t wish to remain “stuck,” and the same logic can be said for the pursuit of therapy. Managing stress, overcoming the inevitable challenges life throws our way and building healthy relationships are valued skills that I feel passionately about supporting others in achieving. I hope to serve as a guide in uncovering the resiliency and confidence you already possess, to begin to live your fullest life.
Navigating through life can be incredibly challenging! I work with adults, young adults, and teenagers to implement desired change in their lives. I offer clients a comfortable, safe and supportive place to address their concerns in order to be able to heal and grow. My unique professional background, which includes working in athletic and academic settings, has helped prepare me to work with a wide variety of clients. I take a flexible approach that is client-focused, with an emphasis on supporting my clients to create the desired change in their lives. With a background in exercise science and nutrition, I believe in taking a holistic approach towards treatment. I utilize a variety of different methods to best support my clients. Seeking therapy can be a challenging first step, but it can also be the most important step towards healing and growth. I look forward to connecting with you and discussing how we can collaboratively achieve your treatment goals.
In our work together I would take a blended therapeutic approach and individualize treatment based on your personal needs, strengths, and goals. My professional journey is deeply rooted in a commitment to fostering healing and resilience in the lives of individuals facing emotional challenges. I have worked for over 15 years with children, adolescents, teens, and adults who feel overwhelmed with worry, stress, and trauma. One of the most rewarding age groups I work with are young adults, navigating transition to college and their experiences throughout. Their progress and bravery has inspired me to narrow my focus to deliver the highest quality care with empathy and thoughtfulness. My focus has been dialectical behavior therapy, treating anxiety with cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness, helping clients find a life worth living beyond their depression, combining behavioral interventions with cognitive strategies, and helping clients take control of their lives by actively making changes. Our past experiences contribute to who we are today but do not have to control our future.

My therapeutic approach includes acceptance, warmth, humor, and skill to create a safe and secure space for thoughts and feelings to be explored freely, healing to occur, strengths to be recognized, and personal goals to be achieved. My clinical work uses many therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, expressive therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness tools. I am readily available for a complimentary connection via email, phone, online or in-person to discuss my practice further. I look forward to hearing from you to provide additional information and detail about how I can be of support.
