The clients I see are sometimes in college experiencing feelings of overwhelm or feeling low. These clients describe their challenges as feeling, “como con miedo,” and also, “no se que tengo.” Other clients I see are future counselors who are at the beginning of their careers and facing imposter syndrome ( “I must’ve slipped through the cracks to get to where I am now”), self-criticism (“Why can’t I get my life together!"), or burnout (feeling fatigued and like you can never catch up). These clients are usually part of activist movements or workplaces and I believe in helping the healers that are out in the world making a positive impact on society. I benefited greatly from my own experiences with counseling when I was in grad school (still do) and I hope to provide the same non-judgmental opportunities to cry or laugh or both to future clients. In my work I value humility, curiosity, self-compassion and humor. I believe these are needed to provide authenticity and support at a time when people starting out in their fields of work are taking in new information that is stretching/challenging perspectives and care for the self is a necessity to continue doing challenging work.

I work with women of all ages struggling with life transitions, depression, anxiety, PTSD, attachment issues, and codependency. In the therapy world, a big focus is often on the client learning to trust the therapist and building a strong therapeutic relationship. While I agree this is an essential catalyst for growth, I also believe it is equally important for the client to learn to trust themselves. I focus on empowering my clients to understand how their past experiences have impacted their current relationships, with self and others, and how they can change these patterns. I am a trained EMDR therapist and I utilize this evidence-based treatment to help my clients heal from emotional distress caused by trauma and adverse life experiences. I also specialize in Client Centered Therapy, Attachment Therapy, The Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My clients and I collaborate on which approach is best for them and their goals. This work includes examining past experiences to make sense of current maladaptive patterns, practicing mindfulness, learning new skills, and examining client values and goals for future relationships. My goal is for my clients to feel empowered and able to view themselves with self-compassion and trust they have the capacity for change.

Dr. Emily Rademan
Psychologist
Colorado Springs, CO

Dr. Rademan starts treatment with a thorough and detailed inventory of life experiences that could be contributing to current concerns. She also explores body pain and chronic health concerns as those can be impacted by trauma and emotional wounding. Just like with physical health, mental health can be impacted by earlier 'injuries' that flare up later in life. Many people have been in and out of therapy throughout their life and haven't found sustained relief due to not healing the root issue or concern. At the foundation of treatment, Dr. Rademan utilizes a trauma and cognitive focused framework. Trauma is not only major violence or death, but can also be a loss of a relationship, not getting your needs met when you were a child, or ongoing major stressors. Trauma can be described as anything that significantly changed the way you view yourself or the world.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master's degree in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I have experience working with adjudicated youth in residential treatment, inpatient treatment, and at a PHP/IOP eating disorder treatment facility. My specialty areas include trauma, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, communication, and codependency. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, client-centered perspective and am in alignment with Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating principles that I incorporate into disordered eating and eating disorder treatment. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can be one of the most healing and safe relationships encountered so I strive to meet clients where they're at with empathy and genuineness. I aim to support clients and walk alongside them in their healing journey while highlighting their strengths. I am EMDR trained and enjoy incorporating EMDR into treatment as appropriate. I also utilize techniques and interventions from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). Foresight helps you find your path to mental wellness. We’re a community of mental health experts who offer a dynamic range of care that flexes with your particular needs and goals. Our team includes licensed therapists, psychiatric providers, researchers, a dedicated care team and more who bring you a thoughtful experience that blends traditional therapy with a technology-backed approach. Our providers build meaningful relationships with you, and our digital member experience helps enhance your care in between sessions. If you feel that this is your season for change, I would be honored to collaborate with you on your journey. I believe in providing trauma-informed, person-centered care and specialize in working with clients who deal with ADHD, anxiety, depression, chronic physical health problems, life transitions, relational stress, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and mood disorders. A bit about my approach to therapy: Because there is no one-size-fits-all in therapy, I use an Eclectic approach, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). This allows me to tailor each session to meet your individual needs and preferences. What you can expect from our first session: During our initial session, we will explore what led you to begin therapy and collaborate on how we can meet your goal. In-between sessions, you will have skill-building strategies to use and check-ins during the following sessions to determine effectiveness. We will tailor your journey to promote symptom relief and sustained improvement using emotional regulation and cognitive restructuring.
