Hi There! I am a licensed Professional Counselor with over 4 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges. My approach is compassionate, warm, and collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Focused. I specialize in working with Adolescents, young adults, and middle-aged adults; struggling with anxiety and depression, communication issues, and trauma survivors. Whether you are dealing with a specific issue or looking for support on your journey of personal growth, I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore, heal, and grow. My goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and empowered. Together, we'll work to build new tools and create meaningful change. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that healing occurs through a safe and authentic connection. My role is to walk alongside you- offering tools, insights, and support- as you explore what's no longer serving you and move toward the life you want to create. Therapy with me is not about "fixing" you- because you are not broken. It's about uncovering your strengths, understanding your story with compassion, and creating space for growth, clarity, and lasting change. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that our first session is all about creating a comfortable, safe space for you to begin your journey. During our initial session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions to better understand what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping to work on, and any important background that can help me support you effectively. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as feels right—we’ll move at your pace. We’ll also talk about how I work, answer any questions you have about the therapy process, and start to outline some goals or intentions for our work together. This session is more about building connection and clarity than diving into deep work right away. Above all, my goal is to make you feel heard, respected, and supported from the very beginning. Whether you’re brand new to therapy or returning after some time away, this is your space—and I’m here to meet you exactly where you are.

Others may think you have it together, but on the inside, you’re falling apart. It feels like you can’t keep up with life’s changes, but it’s so hard to ask for help! Life feels out of control, causing you to feel lost, overwhelmed, unfulfilled, and stuck. You are not alone! I work with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and chronic illnesses. My own experiences with chronic illnesses and the physical and mental challenges they bring have greatly directed my therapeutic practices. I believe our thinking patterns and the way we interpret the world, influence our behaviors and keep us stuck! By adjusting these patterns we can begin to change behaviors and have a different outcome.

Mental health is defined as the ability to love, and the ability to work; to be able to have stable and emotionally fulfilling relationships with others, to take care of your daily needs, and to be able to enjoy using your time creatively and productively. As a counselor, I aim to join with my clients and help them identify their troubles, explore their origins, and create unique solutions to help them live the life they hope for. While my work is very relational and focuses more on meeting the unique needs of individuals, I use specific techniques drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have seven years experience working with young adults, especially neurodivergent young adults on the autism spectrum or with ADHD or learning differences. I particularly enjoy vocational counseling and helping clients navigate life transitions. Many of my clients have complicated diagnositic histories and may have struggled to connect with other counselors in the past. I accept insurance through Headway and also accept private pay through card, cash, check, or Zelle. Please feel free to ask me about sliding scale.

My passion in counseling centers around helping clients heal from past trauma, while facilitating the rewiring of their nervous systems. I focus on supporting their journey toward feeling open to connection and personal growth. I would be honored to work with you and help you find the path that's going to help you make peace with the past, and write a new story moving forward. A story where you can be your own beacon of safety for yourself and for others. Healing from past traumatic experiences is possible, I've seen it for myself, and I fully believe it's possible for you as well. With a BA in Nursing in addition to my MA in counseling, my nursing background greatly influences my approach to counseling. I try to educate my clients on how the brain and how our nervous system works as much as possible, so that my clients can leave each session feeling empowered to work with their nervous system, and not against it. Together we can create the right goals, with the right timeline, that equip and empower you to see your beautiful self in a whole new light, with a sense of agency, and hope for your future. I encourage you to reach out for a free 30 minute consultation to see if we would be a good fit for each other, hope to hear from you soon!

My clinical training experiences have largely centered around assessing the intersections of medical/health, psychological, and social aspects of individuals to facilitate successful outcomes in medical settings. With training from some of the leading experts in psychological assessment, I am also proficient in conducting disability/worker's compensation evaluations, pre-employment screening, and general psychodiagnostic evaluations in addition to pre-surgical assessments. I am licensed in the state of Texas (#38086) and hold a PsyPact license to practice in other states. My research focuses on understanding how psychological factors contribute to medical outcomes. I have over 60 peer-reviewed publications, primarily focused on pre-surgical psychological evaluations and their predictive value for various outcomes. I use my research findings to assist patients in managing risk factors before and after surgery to optimize their outcomes. Additionally, I have a keen interest in psychological assessment, particularly in the use and study of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) in both research and practice. I have been recognized by several national organizations with early-career research awards for my contributions to pre-surgical psychological evaluations. Currently, I am the Principal Investigator on novel psychological interventions for Type 2 Diabetes. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor serving individuals across Texas via telehealth, and I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted—exactly as you are. Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or emotionally exhausted, often carrying the weight of trauma, anxiety/depression, or grief. You might feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or weighed down by past experiences that still show up in the present. My role is to help you make sense of those experiences and move forward in a way that feels safe, supportive, and empowering. My approach is accepting, collaborative, and deeply empathic. Clients often share that they feel truly understood in our sessions—without judgment or pressure. I use EMDR alongside talk therapy to help process painful memories, so they hold less power over your day-to-day life. Together, we work toward making the weight of your past feel lighter. I was drawn to mental health work because I truly enjoy helping people reconnect with their strength. What continues to motivate my work is witnessing those moments when clients realize they don’t have to carry everything alone. If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with understanding & empathy, I’d be honored to support you on your journey.
