Therapists for college students near Temple University
The desire to know and to be known is a normal human experience. I value the trauma-informed safety and client-centered connection we collaboratively create through a systematic lens. I am particularly sensitive to diversity in culture and self-identity, including with respect to race, gender and sexuality. I believe the importance of affirming the unique individual experience with cultural humility. Through compassion, sensitivity, and empowerment, we will work together respectfully to acknowledge vulnerability, unearth patterns, attend complexity, and gain ownership change to achieve the most authentic and expansive self. I have experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, life transition challenges, self-esteem, relationship issues including intimate partner violence, and immigration matter. I approach this work holistically with warmth, empathy, and ever developing curiosity. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first step towards change. It takes intentions to create the time and space to understand and explore ways to navigate the situation we are in. If you would like to explore what that looks like, I am here to support and empower you.
Are you tired of dieting and want to have a healthy relationship with food? I can help you learn to enjoy all foods and live a healthier life. Dieting is isolating and stressful and ultimately can cause you to gain weight and feel distrustful of your body. I will help you learn how to do meal and snack planning and listen to your natural body cues. You can feel good about food! If you have PCOS, I can help you learn how to manage symptoms with food, supplements, and other lifestyle modifications. I can also connect you with other providers in the area to help you get the best care.
Many of the students I work with are used to functioning well despite feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally worn down. Some are struggling with trauma, difficult family relationships, or recurring patterns in their relationships that they don't fully understand. Others are trying to manage ADHD while balancing school, work, research, or family responsibilities. I'm also interested in working with students who are trying to make sense of themselves in the context of the world around them. That might include questions about identity, culture, community, or the emotional impact of social and political events. If you're someone who feels deeply affected by what's happening around you, therapy can be a place to think through those experiences rather than carrying them by yourself. My approach is collaborative and guided by curiosity. I don't assume there are quick answers or a single right way to do therapy. Sometimes our work is about understanding the patterns that keep repeating in your life. Other times it's about dealing with whatever is most pressing right now. Most of the time, it's both.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I'm glad you're here. My hope is to create a space where you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you have everything figured out. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, or a major life transition, my goal is to meet you with warmth, authenticity, and compassion. Together, we'll build on your strengths, develop practical coping skills using CBT and solution-focused strategies, and work toward helping you feel more confident, resilient, and like yourself again.
I am full of energy, observant, assertive, self-discipline, and compassionate. I am Afro-Latina and a first-generation immigrant, bilingual (Spanish). During my intense training in working with the minority community, I have grown to become a more authentic human being. This has led me to continue to foster cultural humility when engaging with others, as we become a more diverse country enriched by an influx of multiculturalism. In sessions, you can expect a burst of energy. We will translate that energy into a collaborative “work in progress.” We will go at the pace that is most convenient for you. I will join you and go inside those scary places, while you overcome the fear of the unknown. I will help you challenge your own belief systems and construct a new reality that works for you. You will discover deeper and more vulnerable emotions and learn to recognize the things that keep you stuck. You will discover well-rounded results that continuously allow you to develop a sense of self. I’m happy to guide you through all of life’s challenges with the attention and care you deserve.
As a relational, attachment-based therapist, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a powerful vehicle for change. As a systemic therapist, I also believe that the systems you’re part of matter, and that your experience can’t be understood outside of those systems. You may have had the experience of “getting” something on a logical level, yet finding that knowledge to be inadequate or insufficient. I believe real change has to be felt, not just rationalized. So I focus on creating a relationship where it’s safe to take relational risks and have new experiences that create change on a deeper level. Within the relationship, the work can take many forms. We may start by looking into your past, as I believe the past is important in understanding the present, and that it’s useful for helping you understand your attachment style and relational patterns. And if you’re one of the many neurodivergent people who have experienced trauma, we can draw on Internal Family Systems/parts work and Emotion-Focused Therapy to help heal your younger self. My goal is to always meet you where you are, and sometimes that might mean taking a more practical, skills-based approach. This could mean developing strategies to manage overwhelm, big emotions, and struggles with organization, time-blindness and prioritization. For example, you may be feeling like you know what you need to do yet still can’t get it done. Here I also draw on my background as an ADHD coach, and use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems to help you understand the emotions that may be getting in your way, see the different parts that create internal conflicts for you, and change how you relate to these parts.
I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community and young adults, providing an affirming space for all sexual and gender identities and expressions. I work well with folx struggling with people-pleasing tendencies, perfectionism, mood disorders, anxiety/OCD, chronic illness, caregiving roles, relationship difficulties, and family-of-origin concerns.
My name is Sarah and I am a therapist, coach and community organizer. I specialize in working with activists, organizers and politically left gen individuals who struggle with burnout, overwhelm and balance. You may be struggling with self-doubt, fear about the future and compassion fatigue. I can help with that. I work with individuals who are navigating trauma associated with living under capitalism. During our first few sessions together, we will begin to bridge the gap between your pain and systematic structures that impact you deeply. You'll begin to experience yourself as part of a whole community, not just an individual. Therapy with me will be political, restorative, healing and empowering.
I have specialized in working with college and university undergraduate and graduate students since my graduate training and I have worked in six different college and university counseling centers. I have innate knowledge about the experiences that are relevant to college and undergraduate students and it is my mission to provide support in helping navigate the journey during this integral time of development. I have experience supporting students through general academic stress and concerns as well as compounding stressors relevant to diversity, culture and identity. Finally, I understand the intersection that other factors have during the college and university experience (i.e., family, friend and romantic relationship building and conflict, social injustice, financial stress, career uncertainty, etc.)
Hi there, I've been working with individuals with different stress in life as a counselor since I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014. I have been seeing students who are struggling with academic stress, graduation anxiety, life transitions, interpersonal conflicts, acculturation, identity issues, and some mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, etc.
I’m a licensed professional counselor offering Telehealth video services for clients in Pennsylvania. The most important part of therapy is the relationship between you and your therapist. You deserve to have a safe space for you to work through your difficulties and emotions and to feel comfortable with the provider you are working with. I utilize skills from cognitive behavioral therapy, unified protocol, dialectical behavior therapy, exposure work, mindfulness, and relational therapy. I am passionate about helping others work on themselves. I specialize in working with issues including depression, eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and peer relationships. I fully believe that us working together to address your difficulties is the best approach and that humor also has a healthy place in therapy. I do two things really well - listen and empathize. You and your story are unique. My job is to help you set goals and develop a plan to set the path for our work together. I strive to create a safe, inclusive space for open sharing and reflection. My role is not to judge or tell you what you should do. My role is to empower and support you to be your best self even if that sometimes means challenging you to promote change. I work with young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and/or general life stress. The world itself impacts how we move through it particularly for members of neurodivergent and BIPOC communities. I offer a 15 minute phone consult to see if we vibe.

As a mental health practice, we assist members by providing therapy to a wide array of people who are in pursuit of happiness. Our team is comprised of exceptional clinicians with a variety of specialties to ensure we give you the best support possible. It was a painful journey that led me to struggle with my own mental health for nearly a decade. During that time, I often searched for a purpose and a way to turn my pain into something positive. Today, I’m proud to announce that I’ve opened this mental health practice. We are building a team of incredible clinicians, each of whom shares a commitment to help others navigate difficult times and find hope and healing. Our goal is to create a safe space where people can feel understood, supported, and empowered on their journey to wellness. We’re here to save lives and help individuals reclaim their strength. At EmBODY Confidence, we support neurodivergent women and teens who struggle with eating disorders, body dysmorphia, anxiety, low self-esteem, and emotional dysregulation. Our approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and self-understanding, helping you feel truly at home in your body without shame or apology. You want to trust your emotions, take up space, eat without guilt, and show up fully in your life. We are here to help you get there with compassion, clarity, and courage. Together, we explore the deeper roots of your struggles, build awareness of the systems that created them, and develop tools for lasting change. We work collaboratively, because you know yourself and your body best. We are a fat-positive, anti-diet, LGBTQIA+, and gender-affirming practice aligned with Health at Every Size® (HAES). EmBODY Confidence is neurodivergent-affirming and committed to creating a space where every body, identity, and mind is welcomed and safe. Research shows that neurodivergent women and LGBTQIA+ individuals are more likely to experience eating disorders or disordered eating patterns than cisgender individuals. Unfortunately, traditional treatment models often fail to meet their unique needs. Our work bridges that gap with affirming, specialized care designed specifically for you. You do not have to do this alone. Healing is possible and you are absolutely worthy of it.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Professional Dog Trainer, and I am a perfect fit if you are missing your pet and believe healing feels better with an animal by your side. At Comfort Companions Counseling, I bring the human-animal bond into therapy in a real and meaningful way, creating a warm and judgment-free space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself, and build real coping skills. I specialize in working with college students navigating anxiety, depression, chronic stress, trauma, life transitions, and the emotional exhaustion that comes with trying to do it all. Services include individual telehealth therapy, Animal-Assisted Therapy, and The Comfort Canine Program, a 5-week therapy dog assisted somatic group designed specifically for college students. I also conduct ESA evaluations with care and thoroughness, and a letter will be provided if clinically appropriate following the completion of the evaluation. Sessions are held via telehealth so you can show up from wherever feels most comfortable — your dorm, your apartment, or your couch. Your pet is always welcome to join, and my co-therapist Milly, a certified therapy dog, can also be part of your sessions for extra support and comfort.
