Psychotherapists in our office offer individual psychotherapy services. Our staff accept major insurances. Some of our staff do not work with insurance and offer out-of-pocket fees on a competitive sliding scale. In addition to being trained and practicing mental health clinicians, our small staff share a background in and passion for the humanities. We believe this influences the way we listen, stay calm and connected in the face of pain, feel familiar and grounding in strange situations, and make room for other things when stuck in a thought or a feeling. First call. Leave a message with your name, phone number, and a few times during the week when you know you can speak privately for up to half an hour with one of our intake coordinators, free of charge. The office for psychotherapy and the humanities is supervised by Dr. Mest, licensed psychologist and teacher.

It takes a great deal of strength to wake up each day and face life head on. I believe that there are times in our lives that present challenges to the person you are or want to be. Whether you are dealing with stress, worry, depression, or are not getting out of life what you want or deserve, talking to someone may be helpful. With over 8 years of experience in the mental health field, I value the person you are and the person you want to be. I believe you have the ability and right to get out of life all that you want. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, identity issues, behavioral issues, relationships and family concerns. I value and provide a safe non-judgmental setting where you can be you. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults and couples from all backgrounds and lifestyles. It is a pleasure to help people discover themselves, their voices, and healthier ways of dealing with life's stressors. My office is safe, clean, professional, and offers plenty of parking right outside the suite. I've served college students in the university setting for over 20 years, as an academic advisor and counselor on multiple campuses. I have specific experience working with students to help them navigate personal, academic, career, social, stress, wellness, and relationship issues. I have enjoyed particularly assisting students in exploring their identities, managing stress, creating successful academic and experiential strategies and schedules, motivation, selecting a major, deciding up on a career focus, addressing anxiety and depression, navigating life changes, improving relationships, and growing their confidence and self-esteem. I implement practical, goal-oriented treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, and Psychoeducation to help clients recognize thoughts and behaviors that are no longer serving them as they incorporate new strategies for moving forward. I want to enable students to achieve their best potential, question themselves less, and live their most joyful lives.

Welcome! I’m so glad you're here. We may not know each other yet, but I want you to know that I believe in your strength. Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside many people on their healing journeys—especially women just like you, who are navigating the ups and downs of relationships, healing from trauma, and learning how to trust themselves again. Through my work, I’ve learned one important thing: healing doesn’t just mean surviving—it means thriving. With the right support, tools, and a safe space to be vulnerable, you can break through the limits of your past and create a life that feels authentic, empowered, and full of possibility. I know college life can feel like a whirlwind—juggling friendships, relationships, academics, and personal growth all at once. It’s a lot. But you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to support you as you navigate these challenges, whether that’s working through past trauma, navigating complicated relationships, or simply learning to love and trust yourself again. Your journey is uniquely yours, and it’s possible to turn your pain into power. I deeply believe that true transformation happens when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable. That’s when we open up the possibility for real change and growth. If you're ready to explore what that could look like for you, I’m here to guide you. Let’s walk this path together. If you're feeling stuck, unsure, or just need someone to talk to, reach out. Let's talk about how we can work together to help you feel stronger, more confident, and more connected to your true self.

My counseling philosophy is grounded in trauma-informed practices, meaning I value collaboration, empowerment, and emotional and physical safety above all else. In time, clients will gain a richer understanding of themselves while working towards self-determined goals. I am especially attuned to those experiencing LGBT issues, trauma, and depression, as well as various non-monogamous relationships and organizing for social justice. As a social worker and through lived experience, I am highly aware of the daily social, institutional, and communal injustices that impact different historically oppressed people. To supplement a trauma-informed practice, I utilize CBT, Brainspotting, ACT, DBT, narrative, and solution-focused therapies when supporting a client. For those working towards understanding unconscious bias based on race, ability, class, or creed, I take an antiracist, intersectional, and systems approach to foster growth and accompliceship development. Reaching out to a new therapist can feel overwhelming and intimidating. I want to recognize the courage you have to start this journey and encourage you to take the next step. When you're ready, contact me and I'll get back to you shortly. For the fastest response, please contact me through email.

Our practice specializes in treating eating disorders in young adults, offering a compassionate and evidence-based approach rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). We provide individualized care for clients struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and other disordered eating behaviors. We also work with Anxiety and Mood disorders. Clients learn to identify and challenge distorted thoughts around food, body image or other presenting stressors. DBT techniques are used to build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. The integrative approach supports young adults in developing healthier coping strategies, improving self-esteem, and fostering lasting recovery in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.

For close to 20 years, I have worked in the field of mental health and addiction. I have extensive experience working with all disorders from mild to severe and specialize in working with the dual diagnosed (mental health and addictions) population; especially those suffering from mood disorders, anxiety disorders and trauma related issues. I am able to offer guidance and support to not only the client who is suffering but their family and support system as well. I believe that all people are capable of improving their life with hard work, openness and a desire for change. I am passionate about working with individuals that have experienced trauma in their lives and assisting them with rebuilding their lives and finding peace, wholeness and health. I am trained in several modalities; CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction. I have extensive experience facilitating both group and individual counseling and genuinely believe that all people are capable of change if they are willing to work hard and commit to the process.

I have an eclectic background of professional experience! I started out working in field of substance abuse, then went into hospital social work, which led me to home hospice work. I did some home-based services with children and families, and then landed in private practice where I feel very grateful for what I get to do as a therapist! I have several years experience counseling at a small liberal arts college with college students with many different presenting issues., such as first gen issues, anxiety, stress, ADHD, over-drinking, family conflicts, relationship struggles, and depression, to name a few. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) which has now become my therapeutic intervention of choice! I use a holistic approach considering mind, body, and spirit in all aspects of the treatment approach. I do often offer groups called Processing Pain, a spiritual formation group, as well as a healthy weight loss/self esteem group! I do offer a non-denominational, Christian-based approach to students with whom this is important to.

College and early adulthood can feel like a lot. You’re building your future, navigating relationships, managing expectations — and trying to keep it all together. Stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, breakups, and big life transitions are common, but that doesn’t mean you have to handle them alone. Therapy with me is real, supportive, and judgment-free. I focus on creating a space where you can be yourself, talk honestly about what’s weighing on you, and learn practical tools to feel more grounded and confident. I previously worked with college students and young adults at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in an Intensive Outpatient Program, supporting clients through anxiety, depression, and major life stressors. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just not like yourself, let’s talk. Reaching out can be the first step toward feeling better.

After 13 years of practice in a community organization, I started my private practice here, 7 years ago in West Chester. I believe in a holistic treatment of body, mind and emotional well being. My mantra is Talk. Change. Thrive. Talking about the different issues with a professional that can give different perspectives and ideas with clinical support, leads to Change. Changing those thought patterns leads to healthier behaviors and actions, which moves us to Thrive. Thriving in life and ways of thinking, so that one can become the person one is intended to be, before all the muck in life that affects one’s well being.
