Many college students today lack the coping skills that are necessary to address life’s ups and downs. They often feel disconnected emotionally, and are unable to handle stress, peer and relationship issues, or the school, college, or work environment. When a teen is struggling with academics, they receive tutoring or support to develop the skills they need to succeed. Emotional health is no different. Teens need tools to help them regulate their emotions, develop connections with others, and create a healthy, well-rounded lifestyle. I take an integrated, solution-focused approach to working with adolescents and young adults who are dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I treat the whole person, not just their symptoms, with the goal of giving them the tools they need to manage whatever comes their way – now and for the rest of their lives.

I am very passionate about my role as a Psychotherapist. I can honestly say with 100% certainty that I absolutely love what I do. I have been in the field for 20 years and I've worked with a myriad of Mental Health Issues/Disorders. It is very important to me that I build a strong, healthy, respectful rapport with each and every one of my patients. It is critical to the therapeutic process on every level. I'm very down to earth, empathetic and I'm open with patients about my own life experiences when I have gone through something that they're personally struggling with. I want them to know that I have walked in their shoes, that I understand their painful emotions and that I am living proof that there is hope in overcoming their toughest struggles and turning them into their own personal strength and growth. When/if humor is appropriate, I use it to help patients feel more at ease. I will never pretend to not be human or to be someone I'm not. I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills to help patients learn how to change/replace negative thoughts, maladaptive behaviors and how to regulate emotions. The more interested and willing someone is to learn and use the skills, the higher the probability of a successful therapeutic outcome. The more open patients are in therapy, as difficult as that can be for some, the more I am able to help them. Therapy is a process that takes time. I would never expect for someone to come in and tell me everything about all their deepest struggles within a short period of time and I would never try to force someone to open up about something if they're not ready to do so yet. Trust is critical and can take time to build with your therapist which is perfectly alright! My responsibility is to listen, to validate, be honest and to give you the skills that you need to be your best self. Your responsibility is to want to be your best self, be honest and to put forth your best effort to use the skills you'll learn that will help you turn your struggles into strength and growth!

College can be exciting, overwhelming, confusing, and transformative — often all at once. If you’re feeling anxious, stressed, burned out, unsure of your major, struggling socially, or navigating big life decisions, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I help college students who are experiencing: -Academic pressure, procrastination, or motivation challenges -Stress, anxiety, or burnout -Difficulty adjusting to campus life -Relationship or roommate concerns -Career uncertainty or fear about the future -Work–school–life balance struggles -Identity exploration or major life transitions My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly, gain clarity, and build the confidence and skills you need to move forward. Together, we’ll explore what’s getting in the way, strengthen your coping strategies, and help you make choices that feel right for you. With over 18 years of experience providing personal and career counseling in community college and university settings, I understand the unique challenges students face — academically, socially, and emotionally. You deserve support that meets you exactly where you are.

I have worked with people of all backgrounds but I generally work with women and the LGBT community. I work with clients on self-esteem, body positivity, anxiety management, trauma symptoms, and relational issues. As a human and a provider, I am feminist, anti-racist, fat positive, sex positive, pro-science, pro-vaccine, and pro-LGBT. My approach is varied depending on the individual's history with treatment. For people new to therapy, it may be helpful to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT involves looking at thoughts patterns and behaviors that may be creating obstacles in your life and setting up appropriate coping skills to address those issues. For people who come to therapy for the purpose of processing trauma, a trauma-informed, relational approach is necessary. For people who are looking to gain understanding about how their past intersects with their present behaviors, insight oriented therapy would be the best approach. I am not a "Listen and Nod" therapist. I will actively listen, provide you with feedback and analysis, and be open with you about your diagnosis, prognosis, and any treatments indicated. With full transparency, I say that I am not a validation-only therapist. Some folks want a therapist who will listen and validate without providing feedback or analysis. That is not my style. I will, however, work with you to figure out exactly how you can benefit from therapy.

At times, people just want to have a conversation and we put off going to counseling, because honestly we tell ourselves that this other thing is just a little bit more important, a bit more pressing. We forget to invest in ourselves. Life is tough, there is no doubt about that; but why go through it alone. Let me be that person for you to aid you through those tough times or I can simply be that someone that you talk with. At EmBODY Confidence, we support neurodivergent women and teens who struggle with eating disorders, body dysmorphia, anxiety, low self-esteem, and emotional dysregulation. Our approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and self-understanding, helping you feel truly at home in your body without shame or apology. You want to trust your emotions, take up space, eat without guilt, and show up fully in your life. We are here to help you get there with compassion, clarity, and courage. Together, we explore the deeper roots of your struggles, build awareness of the systems that created them, and develop tools for lasting change. We work collaboratively, because you know yourself and your body best. We are a fat-positive, anti-diet, LGBTQIA+, and gender-affirming practice aligned with Health at Every Size® (HAES). EmBODY Confidence is neurodivergent-affirming and committed to creating a space where every body, identity, and mind is welcomed and safe. Research shows that neurodivergent women and LGBTQIA+ individuals are more likely to experience eating disorders or disordered eating patterns than cisgender individuals. Unfortunately, traditional treatment models often fail to meet their unique needs. Our work bridges that gap with affirming, specialized care designed specifically for you. You do not have to do this alone. Healing is possible and you are absolutely worthy of it.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in private practice where I see adults and adolescents. I am here to support and encourage you to reach life goals that will enhance your overall feelings of peace, joy and belonging. I provide a safe and nurturing environment that enhances the therapeutic process and encourages my clients to identify their strengths and embrace positive change. My therapy model is based on Aaron T. Beck's development of cognitive behavioral therapy. This approach identifies the distortions in our way of thinking that drives our emotions and behaviors. By identifying distortions and redefining them we can than choose an emotion and behavior and feeling that fits our new way of thinking. My goal is to provide a therapy model that incorporates mind, body and soul wellness. I am presently accepting new patients and I am credentialed through most of the major insurance plans.
