College and graduate school can stretch you academically, mentally, and emotionally. When stress, burnout, or self-doubt start to pile up, that stretch can feel more like a breaking point. I work with students to navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, trauma, life transitions, and challenges that can come with disability. I also support people adjusting to new environments, including the shift from rural backgrounds into more urban, academic settings. Together, we’ll look at where you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed and build practical skills to help you clear those hurdles and reconnect with what matters to you. My approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). In practice, this means we’ll use a blend of tools to help you understand your thoughts and reactions, make sense of your experiences, and respond in ways that feel more manageable and effective. I will tailor our work to your personal goals, because your idea of accomplishment is what matters to me. If you’re interested, we can also bring in elements of Geek Therapy® (using movies, games, or other examples of popular culture) to make therapy feel more relatable and engaging. If you’ve been dealing with mental fatigue, cognitive overload, or a life-altering diagnosis, you don’t have to figure it out on your own. We can work together to help you feel more balanced, confident, and prepared for your next chapter, whether that’s graduation or the following academic term. Reaching out can be the most difficult step in this process. Let’s start a conversation and design a treatment plan just for you.
My name is Kristen and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering telehealth therapy for teens and young adults in Ohio, North Carolina, and Michigan struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or school issues. Together we will work together to achieve the goals you've set for yourself through honest dialogue, empathetic understanding, and maybe even a little laughter. Thank you for considering me in your journey! Let's get started.
Sometimes we feel stuck. We take steps forward, only to find ourselves falling back into old patterns and familiar responses. We don’t want to repeat them, but somehow, they persist. Whatever the source of the struggle, we’ll work together to explore where these responses come from, why they continue, and what’s needed to make different choices moving forward. Healing begins with understanding how the past still lives in the present. I primarily use EMDR Psychotherapy to uncover the experiences that have shaped your life. Together, we’ll explore the parts of you that feel stuck, scared, or alone. No one grows up untouched by pain—but it is possible to move forward on a different path. You are your greatest and most valuable resource. Everything you need to create change is already within you. It’s not easy, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’ll be with you every step of the way, honored to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your capacity for healing, growth, and transformation. Let’s do this together.

Sometimes life is hard and just plain messy, and we just need someone who can listen, guide, challenge and support us in our life journey. It is my passion to walk this journey with you as you navigate the stressors, traumas and unexpected turns that life can throw at you. Your experiences are unique to you. I desire our therapeutic relationship to be collaborative as we work together to create interventions that spark growth and ultimately, healing. I have worked with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds. My Master's in Social Work provided a concentration in addiction and mental health. I have also worked with clients who struggle with hoarding, anxiety, loss/grief, family transition and many other areas. Your story matters. You matter. I would be honored to have the privilege to join you in your journey. Reaching out to someone can be difficult-I am committed to seek healing alongside of you with grace and honor.
If life has been feeling stuck, confusing, or overwhelming, let’s slow things down together. I'm here to listen closely to your lived experience and the stories that have shaped it. My work is grounded in narrative therapy, which means we will pay attention to how problems have come to influence your life and how your preferred values and hopes might guide us forward. We'll stay close to what matters most to you, exploring what you want your life to stand for and supporting steps that move you closer to that direction, one conversation at a time. My approach is collaborative, with your voice guiding what feels most important. I ask questions that invite reflection and new possibilities, and I'm transparent about my thinking. If you want therapy that feels human, thoughtful, and respectful of your context, we may be a good fit. If you would like to see whether we fit, reach out through the contact options on this page. You can share a sentence or two about what you want help with, along with any scheduling needs. I'll respond with what I can offer and what next steps could look like.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and stress reduction, but also help people with: anger, depression, phobias, OCD, addiction, PTSD, relationship difficulties, spiritual/existential crises, panic attacks, ADHD, chronic medical conditions (gastric, migraines, tinnitus, POTS, etc.), and many other problems. Very often, symptoms and issues overlap and are correlated. When you work with me, we will collaborate to focus on the challenging areas of your life, manage stresses from your environment and body, and develop strategies to overcome unhelpful patterns of thought and behavior. Through this work it will be possible to experience relief, become happier, and evolve as a person. While I prefer to see clients in my office, I also provide online therapy on a HIPAA compliant video platform. When we first meet, we'll discuss your history and your concerns. We'll articulate goals for your treatment and establish a clear direction aimed at the outcomes you are hoping for. It will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions and feel comfortable in the work we will soon embark upon.

I believe that therapy is a wonderful way to explore inner thoughts and feelings in a safe, supportive, encouraging environment. I enjoy working with college-age students who are struggling with a variety of challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, post-partum, miscarriage, and relationship difficulties. I believe in the integration of body, mind, and spirit and the importance of bringing balance to one's life for optimal functioning. Our journey together would work toward wellness and healing in a trusting, safe, and secure relationship. I integrate a variety of therapies to best suit my clients' needs, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, trauma-focused therapies, and traditional talk psychotherapy.
