Welcome. I am an licensed psychologist with a decade of experience helping students and young adults to navigate transitions and effectively manage mental health. My approach is warm and practical, providing evidence-based care tailored to your individual needs and goals. Regardless of what brings you to therapy, you will receive an opportunity to speak and understand your experiences in a new light. And we will work together to find paths towards a more fulfilling life. For those interested in the details of my approach, I primarily utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including more specific CBT-based treatments (e.g. Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD and various evidence-based treatments for PTSD). In addition to therapy, I also provide a variety of assessment services, including diagnostic clarification and psychoeducational assessment, including diagnosis of ADHD. Welcome! Your courage to work towards a better you is commendable. When starting out in therapy, our focus will be on developing a therapeutic relationship based on trust. I approach sessions with empathy and compassion in a nonjudgmental space where you may ask yourself, "What do I want from this experience?" I can support you through addressing current/past hurt and be present with you as emotions come up. I will be with you as you explore the internalized narratives that influence your functioning and wellbeing. I believe therapy should be an empowering process, in which your strengths are highlighted. I consider multicultural systems and identities in my framework for treating adolescent and adult clients within the contexts that matter most to them. I have specialized interests in serving college and graduate students; multiracial/multiethnic identifying clients; clients who identify as racial minorities; LGBTQIA+ clients and women. Prior to transitioning to private practice, I worked as a counselor at Immaculata University's Counseling Center. During my time there, I supported students in navigating the college experience and its nuances. This included, but was not limited to, supporting students experiencing homesickness; supporting first generation college students; supporting students' challenges with perfectionism; supporting students navigating identity development; supporting students of color in navigating a predominantly white campus; supporting students with time management; supporting neurodivergent students; supporting seniors in navigating anxiety around graduation etc.
Hi! I help clients cultivate awareness, insight, and self-compassion so that they can know themselves in a deeper way and live more authentically. I'm level 1 trained in Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), which means I can help you get to know and heal the parts of you who feel stressed, anxious, burnt out, or depressed. We do this in a gentle, trauma-informed way. My practice is also informed by studies in psychodynamic theory, self-compassion, mindfulness, creative arts, and Buddhist psychology. No matter what approach you feel most comfortable exploring, I believe that safety, consent, and the therapeutic relationship are the foundation for healing.
You are the expert on you, and you already possess all the tools necessary to heal and achieve your goals! Life experiences however can cause those tools or skills to become buried. In a safe and supportive therapeutic environment my role is to help uncover your “toolbox”, remove the broken or ineffective tools, sharpen the dull ones, and add a few new shiny ones. To embark on this counseling journey several critical therapeutic ingredients are needed: safety, empathy, and trust (SET). You'll lead and I'll closely follow, serving as a skillfully trained second pair of eyes and ears.
What does therapy mean to you? What makes it so beneficial? How many thoughts, feelings, expectations, questions are you noticing as you take the first step in finding the “right” therapist? You are not alone. Therapy is a collaborative relationship in which I cultivate an open and non-judgmental atmosphere to equip you in facilitating change, fostering vulnerability, and promoting a rich and meaningful life. Whether you want to work towards specific life goals, change, or stressors including complex trauma, cultural issues, anxiety/depression, I strive to guide you through the process. Let's tackle the "what will people say." My goal is to help you become the best version of you through managing your emotions and living a values driven life. I am a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience on staff in college counseling centers and in private practice. I work to form a trusting relationship with students so that they have a safe space to work through the challenges they are facing. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I am especially focused on providing inclusive, affirming care for students whose identities may not be represented or supported as well as they could be in the available campus resources - whether that be by virtue of sexuality and gender, or other facets of life experience. If you are feeling stuck academically or socially, struggling with mood or anxiety, trying to figure out who you are and your place at school and at home - I am here to help you find your way through it.
For my entire career, I have worked mostly with teens and young adults as well as families. I am practical, straightforward and yet supportive and compassionate. I offer straight up feedback & suggestions as well as support. I often treat anxiety, depression, mood disorders, transitions, trauma, relationship & family issues, and academic challenges. Additionally I run weekly therapy groups for teens and young adults. I also have two associates who work in my practice who are also quite skilled and experienced with young adults and teens.
I offer client-centered treatment options that are determined collaboratively between us. I value all people and work to be culturally sensitive and aim for cultural humility when working with someone whose identity is different from my own. I will always seek out information on my own to fill in gaps of general knowledge, but will look to you to share your own personal experiences and beliefs that may or may not follow the general norms of any given cultural identity. My clients often struggle with depression and anxiety which have systemic and/or family-based roots, and my job is to facilitate a process to help you develop self-understanding and self-knowledge to make choices that are right for you.

Therapy with me is grounded in deep empathy, creativity, curiosity, and a belief that meaningful change happens through safe, collaborative relationships. My goal is to help clients build insight, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward meaningful, values-aligned change. Alongside my clinical work, I am also a doctoral student in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at Pennsylvania State University where I am pursuing research interests of social justice and systemic change in counseling and religious/spiritual abuse. Through teaching, research, and practice, I value providing therapy that is affirming, trauma-informed, and responsive to each client’s unique culture, context, and experiences. Outside of work, I am a curious, playful, and nature-loving person. I love hiking with my partner, reading, and having a good laugh.
College can feel like a lot to carry. Classes, relationships, expectations, and trying to figure out what comes next. You might look like you’re handling things on the outside, but inside feel overwhelmed, stuck, exhausted, or unsure of yourself. You may notice the same patterns showing up in relationships or feel like you’re falling behind. You are not alone, this is a very common experience. Therapy is a place to sort through what’s going on and understand why things feel this way. With over 20 years of experience, I work with students navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, academic challenges and family and relationship challenges. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly, make sense of your experiences, and start to feel steadier and more confident. Together, we’ll work on building healthier boundaries, finding clarity, and helping you move forward in a way that feels right for you. If you’d like to connect, email is the best way to reach me. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Harvard-trained, Harvard-affiliated, board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. I strongly believe that the best psychiatric care is centered on the whole person, not just on a diagnosis or a specific medication. I provide weekly therapy and work with patients to determine if medications can be of help. I do not believe that everyone needs a medication, but they can be useful in treating particular psychiatric symptoms; I will work with you in order to find the best treatment modality that meets your goals and needs. My training in psychotherapy includes psychodynamic psychotherapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Exposure/Response Prevention (Ex/RP) and Prolonged Exposure (PE). I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. In order to offer comprehensive treatment, I do not accept insurance in my private practice. I am currently conducting sessions via telemedicine only. Please feel free to send me an email to set up a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation so I can answer any questions and see if I can be of help.
