You feel anxious, depressed. My goal is to help you manage these difficult feelings and develop strategies to build a more fulfilling life. I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor who provides a safe, non-judgmental space where we can work through any difficulties you have honoring your needs and being authentic in partnerships. I also work with individuals struggling with sexually compulsive behavior or romantic obsession. I am affirmative of all genders, sexualities, and relationship structures, and am kink-positive. In my work, I use a combination of treatment approaches to unearth your unconscious, challenge your thought patterns, and help you become more mindful and grounded.
Clients who come to me have expressed feeling a change in their mood, such as feeling more irritable, more anxious than usual or that they just don't feel like themselves and aren't enjoying things that they once used to. I will provide you with a non-judgmental and accepting environment where you can feel comfortable talking openly about difficult emotions and topics. Since each person is a unique individual with his or her own experiences, I use a holistic approach to therapy that’s unique to who you are and what you will need to support your well-being. In therapy we will explore connections between your past and present experiences so you can gain a deeper sense of awareness about yourself, identify problems so you can get to the bottom of why you are feeling the way you area and learn coping skills so you can better manage symptoms and find relief in challenging moments. Mental health concerns that I specialize in but are not limited to include: anxiety, depression and trauma, as well as family dynamics, life transitions, career-related stress and self-esteem. We’re told all sorts of misinformed messages that downplay the importance of mental health, so it’s no surprise if you are hesitant or nervous about the idea of therapy but remember that you are entitled to get help, no matter what you are going through.
My practice serves children, adolescents, young adults struggling with educational issues, career development, the artistic community and general population. My offices are located in midtown Manhattan and Toms River South Jersey. I direct my patients to feel confidence in their autonomy and potential. They find me approachable, accepting and respectful of their privacy. All ages feel comfortable in sessions; share the follies and humor in life with me and eventually work towards acceptable solutions. I work on the need for personal development, independence, academic progress and career plans throughout the developmental spectrum. Before becoming a therapist, Kelsey had a career in advertising and marketing working for consumer brands and tech companies.
