Have you experienced trauma that's left you feeling stuck, anxious, or depressed? Are you frustrated by finding yourself repeating the same patterns of behavior, even when those behaviors are no longer serving you? I create space for you to explore and learn new ways to cope with feelings of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and past traumas. I offer a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to explore the issues coming up and learn new skills. We can work together to help you to better deal with the struggles you're facing, heal past wounds, and successfully shift the unfulfilling patterns and symptoms in your life. I draw heavily from cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and psychodynamic techniques, with an emphasis on both practical tools as well as attention to deeper emotions. I also intertwine elements of other modalities including mindfulness & meditation techniques. I also am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). No matter the concern, I use an individualized approach to help you in the unique way you need. I’d love to discuss how I can be of service and I offer free 30 minute phone consults so that you can explore what working together might look like and see if it feels like a good fit.
So many students can feel overwhelmed… by choices, by things that need to be done, by relationships at home and at school, by worries about your own life and the broader world, by figuring out who you are… who you want to be… where you fit in… where you want to go. I want to help you grow to cope more easily with all that’s on your plate. I also specialize in supporting caregivers of all kinds. Do you have aging parents, a loved one with dementia or chronic illness, or children (perhaps with special needs) who need your care? Are you a health care worker, teacher, or volunteer? I want to help you balance caring for others with valuing and taking better care of yourself. When we work together, you are in charge; you drive the boat. I view my role as coach, pit crew, investigator, occasional guest lecturer, comic relief, gentle nudge, and trusted companion on your path. My work is all about your strengths and your vision–finding them, sorting between them, nurturing them to take you in directions you want to go. Our work is also about play: finding the courage and confidence to dream, to try, to try again, to try a different route. You can do both, staying present to enjoy as much as possible of your now while moving towards a future that makes your heart sing. All identities warmly welcome.
I work hard to create a safe and inviting space for my clients to work on whichever problems they choose to bring into their sessions. My approach reflects my empathic, nonjudgmental, and compassionate style. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in treatment, as I believe that healing happens when there is a strong therapeutic alliance. I collaborate with and empower my clients to harness or reclaim their inner strength and power. I have experience working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship stressors, work/life stress, life transitions, and trauma.

I work collaboratively with students who face a variety of challenges, including life transitions, relationship issues, and navigating queer identities. College and graduate school typically occur at pivotal developmental points for people in terms of figuring out who they are, what they want, and separating/individuating from parental figures. Together, we will work to understand your inner life, what works and what doesn't in terms of your thinking, behavior and ways of relating to others. Often, patterns develop that help us stay safe and secure when we're young, but would benefit from re-examination and modification to live a more fulfilling adult life. I have a sub-specialty working with people with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), a highly distressing fixation on a perceived appearance defect that can impact daily functioning and quality of life. I help you understand where the appearance fixation originated, including negative self appraisals and rituals/compulsions that accompany BDD. Learning to face feared and avoided situations is a gradual process that takes place over time, freeing you from the hold of BDD and leading to improved functioning and a more satisfying life.
As a Creative Arts Psychotherapist and Drama Therapist, I interweave creative expressive techniques along with traditional talk therapy to support you in releasing old patterns and habits, identify places you feel stuck, and move towards a place of self acceptance, healing, and growth. My role as therapist includes being a guide and support on your unique journey, utilizing both creative expression and talk therapy depending on your needs and level of comfort. I believe that real change happens when we connect mind and body, allowing us to explore places that hold us back, and reconnect with ourselves to live a more full and joyful life. I work primarily with adolescents and young adults with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, self esteem issues, and learning differences.

Life can often feel overwhelming and reaching out for support and prioritizing self-care can feel difficult. I am here to provide you with kindness, compassion, and help you believe that you are worth it. I work with young adults to help them understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behavior and how to transform harmful thought and behavior patterns. Together, we can build up your skills in navigating life transitions, managing mental health symptoms, reducing distress, exploring relationship problems, and developing long-term coping strategies through shared empathy and good humor as fellow humans. Dwellness provides in-home therapeutic services to individuals and families across the lifespan via home-based and teletherapy practices. Our clinicians specialize in different developmental periods and therapeutic techniques, which allows for an individualized treatment approach to address each client’s challenges. We believe that therapy should be accessible and translatable to the way one dwells. Bringing psychotherapy into the home gives us the opportunity to help clients shape for the better an environment that often profoundly influences feelings of safety, comfort, and love. We aim to collaborate with clients, to draw upon their inherent resilience and resources and let go of what is in their way, in real time, in the environment in which they experience it. Together we can rebuild or redesign the emotional foundation of the home and cultivate new ways to relate to one another. Our clinicians, ranging from post-doctoral psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors, and creative arts therapists, specialize in different developmental periods and therapeutic techniques, which allows for an individualized treatment approach to address each client’s challenges.
