Creating a space for someone to feel supported and heard is my first priority. The most important aspect of a therapeutic relationship is the dynamic between client and therapist. When you truly feel comfortable and understood by your therapist then that is when therapy can thrive. The goal in the work we do is to focus on assisting you in healing so that you are able to use the space and time we have to decipher what would work best for you to move forward. Therapy is a place for you to unwind, unload and have an opportunity to speak your thoughts out loud, reflect and make sense of how you would like to proceed away from stress, anxiety, anger, melancholy or behaviors that are no longer useful and yet challenging to change. I have worked in the field of HIV, substance use and mental health for over a decade. Primarily working in community health centers and non profit organizations, I have had the honor of providing mental health services to homeless men and women, adults who are actively using substances and unsure of what changes they would like to make, if any, and with homeless youth who are struggling with a severe mental illness. My graduate education and training was started and completed in the Bay Area where I also taught mindfulness meditation through a research study at UCSF. I am a Latino Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in the state of New York. I specialize in working with people, in both English and Spanish, who are struggling with Substance Use, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Sexual Identity, Coming out, Gender Identity & Transition, HIV-related issues, Relationship issues, Grief and Loss, Sexual Difficulties, Migration issues and adapting to a new country with a sensitivity to diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds. In addition I also specialize in working with people who believe in non traditional sexual relationships and expressions. I am currently accepting new clients in the Flatiron District of New York City. I believe that each of our stories are equally sacred as they are unique and see therapy as an opportunity to cultivate curiosity for ourselves, let go of self-judgement, and create meaningful change. I utilize an embodied approach rooted in Gestalt Therapy and don't shy away from bringing humor, play and creativity to the therapeutic process. Though my experience ranges across many areas, I gravitate towards helping clients work through Inner Child Healing, codependency, perfectionism, relational trauma, multicultural identity and relationship issues. I also work with couples seeking to deepen intimacy, trust and communication.

From a young age, I felt driven by a deep curiosity about the inner worlds of others. Our inner world is uniquely shaped by our individual lived experiences, making each of us distinct in how we perceive and navigate life. I aim to foster a space that allows for the exploration of how one's lived experiences shapes identity, contribute to repeating patterns and impacts our relationship with ourselves and others. With a warm, collaborative and non-judgmental approach, I support clients in navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, identity and interpersonal relationships. Blending psychodynamic, relational and DBT practices along with mindfulness techniques, I strive to create a safe space for exploration and growth. With extensive experience supporting adults and students in both private and public mental health settings, I bring a rich and diverse perspective to the therapeutic process. To me counseling is a delicate and committed process that involves honoring each client's experience and working together to expand self-awareness and connection.

I am a Clinical Social Worker in New York State. I specialize in treating anxiety and depression in adolescents and adults using evidence based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Our college years are one of the best years of my life. It was a time where I experienced a major shift in the way I saw the world and reframed many of my lived experiences. College was also one of the most stressful times in my life. The deadlines, the professors who didn't care I had other classes to study for, the part-time work and wok study...so many all nighters. And somehow making time to be social. All of these things make uo the college experience but I realized, many years later, that some things, such as the constant worrying about deadlines, the panic sweat waiting for my professors to give me feedback, and the fact I typically slept four hours a day, were not normal things I should have "pushed through" as I often told myself those days. I wished someone had been there to tell me to step back and take care of myself more. Now, as a therapist, I hope I can be the person who helps get you through the dualities that is your college years.
My ideal client may be struggling with a wide array of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, academic pressures, life transitions, or identity exploration. They may require support in developing effective coping strategies, enhancing their emotional regulation skills, and building a strong sense of self-worth. They may also need guidance in understanding their mental health, navigating interpersonal dynamics, or setting or achieving goals. The goals for my ideal client often revolve around self-discovery and personal growth. As a therapist-in-training with a background in social work and chemical dependency counseling, I specialize in helping college students navigate life's complexities. I understand that college can be a time of significant stress, change, and personal development, and I am here to support you as you face these challenges. I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially when you're already managing so much. Therapy is not about "fixing" you; it's about understanding you—your story, your strengths, your struggles, and your hopes. It's about creating a space where you can be your most authentic self without fear of judgment.
I love working with students who care about their relationships and want to feel more connected—to partners, friends, or themselves. Many of the people I see are creative, thoughtful, and maybe a little unsure of where they’re headed next. Whether you’re dealing with relationship stress, an existential “what am I doing with my life?” moment, or just trying to communicate better, therapy can be a space to slow down and figure things out together.
