With 15 years’ experience as a bilingual Psychotherapist working with very diverse populations from adults to adolescents who experience depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD I learned that not everyone feels comfortable going to speak to a therapist in a traditional setting like an office. This is why I offer “Walk Talk Therapy” and mobile therapy. I want to eliminate as many barriers as possible for you to get the help you need. Just as we are all encouraged to exercise for our physical health, I believe everyone should connect with a professional therapist to strengthen one’s emotional health. Hello! I'm Katie. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker working in the mental health field for 4 years. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults experiencing life changes, anxiety, depression and relationship struggles. I am dedicated to providing a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and challenges. Together, we can work to develop coping strategies and deeper self-awareness. My goal is to empower you with the tools and insights needed to foster growth, healing, and resilience.
Healing doesn’t happen alone, I specialize in affirming therapy for creative individuals who feel stuck or are struggling with transitions at school, in their personal lives, and their careers. I utilize an integrative blend of evidence-based therapy techniques, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), Gestalt therapy, and somatic approaches. I also incorporate the additional tools of art, play, and mindfulness practices for clients interested in exploring creative expression.
I am dedicated to assisting individuals in reclaiming their sense of well-being. Through compassionate guidance, I support clients in exploring and understanding their unique experiences, while fostering a deeper awareness of their emotional, behavioral, and cognitive patterns. I am dedicated to honoring your background, values, and life experiences, creating a safe and supportive space for you to feel both heard and understood. Whether healing from trauma, improving emotional regulation, or gaining clarity on life’s challenges, my goal is to empower your ability to live a more full and authentic life with a healthy sense of self. In our work together, I draw from a range of trauma-informed therapeutic approaches—including EMDR, DBT, Mindfulness-based therapy, CBT, and Psychodynamic—to create a treatment plan that is as unique as you are. My goal is to provide an integrative and adaptable approach that meets your needs, and fosters healing & relief from your individual struggles. You can expect a warm, compassionate space where I offer steady support, guidance, insight & encouragement. I deeply value your perspective and believe that healing is most effective when it is a collaborative process. Together, we will explore your unique strengths, confront challenges, and move forward at a pace that feels both safe and empowering for you.
My name is Dr. Suzanna Mila Chen. I am a Board-Certified M.D. psychiatrist and I run a private boutique practice in NY. My specialties are psychodynamic and CBT psychotherapy. I can also provide medication management to supplement psychotherapy only IF and WHEN it is appropriate and medically necessary. Through a holistic approach I also incorporate lifestyle changes and can add evidence-based supplements when needed. I have experience providing counseling to undergraduate and graduate students at Fordham University Lincoln Center, and providing therapy and at times medications for Albert Einstein College of Medicine students. I have a special interest in building confidence, reducing anxiety, improving work-life balance, addressing pathological perfectionism, addressing people-pleasing, supporting high-achieving students and professionals in their goals, healing emotional wounds from narcissistic parents and dysfunctional family dynamics in general, maneuvering relationships (including interracial and intercultural relationships), and navigating culture and identity. I also have further training in perinatal mental health from PSI. Please note that I do not take in-network for medication management only (ie without therapy).
College can feel overwhelming—you may be juggling classes, relationships, family expectations, and major life decisions all at once. You deserve support that helps you feel grounded, focused, and able to grow during this time. I take a strengths-based approach, recognizing the resilience and determination you already bring. As a parent who completed my degree while working full-time, I understand firsthand the challenges of balancing multiple roles. That experience shapes how I help students build boundaries, stay focused, and create sustainable strategies for success. I work best with students who want more than a space to vent. Together, we focus on practical tools, clearer direction, and meaningful change you can apply in daily life. I especially enjoy supporting working parents, adult learners, and first-generation college students navigating anxiety, cultural or family pressures, identity concerns, and relationship stress. As a bilingual (English/Spanish) LCSW with over 10 years of experience, I provide a supportive, structured space to help you feel more confident, connected, and empowered in college and beyond.

Ever feel like you're losing the grip on this thing we call "Life?" That things are just too overwhelming, confusing and like you need some answers or guidance? Or maybe you just need to re-find your footing? Get some help with this new transition of college/dorm life, relationships, adulthood? Dealing with loneliness, anxiety, depression, stress, time management, lack of confidence and motivation or simply want someone to talk to who might "get it" and doesn't beat around the bush? That's where I come in! My vision for success is to provide a warm, understanding, supportive, matter-of-fact, & open-minded environment to help you reach your goals and improve your life. I'm not afraid to be silly and/or think outside the box. Sometimes, that's exactly what you need.
You don't have to figure it all out on your own! Students I work with are empathic and intelligent and are feeling pain about their personal lives and the world at large. They have difficulty asking for help as they are often the person others turn to for assistance. Distress can show up as failing classes, procrastination, insomnia, sadness, lack of focus, irritability, anxiety and feelings of hopelessness about the future. In our work together, we will identify sources of distress, resolve conflicts that are holding you stuck, and learn, practice and integrate coping strategies. We will tap into inner resources--including intuition, humor, beauty and resilience--to access healing and joy. Our work will enable you to become more grounded, self-aware, confident, and self-directed. I studied English and Environmental Studies at SUNY Albany and Williams College. I received my Masters in Expressive Therapies from Lesley University and my Masters in Social Work from New York University. My professional experience includes over 15 years working in academia, including serving as the director of a university women's and gender resource center, adjunct professor and academic advisor, in addition to my work as a psychotherapist. I am a member of the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America and am a climate-aware and trauma-informed therapist. Many of my current clients are dealing with trauma and social anxiety. They often feel isolated and struggle with initiating and building healthy connections and friendships with others. Therapy can help you uncover choices and social skills you may not even be able to imagine now. My studies in creative arts therapies, mythology, Tarot, dreams and archetypes help you see your life stories with fresh perspective and flexibility. Students who work best with me approach therapy as partnering with a warm, compassionate, knowledgeable guide who can help them access intuitive, academic, physical and practical resources. We weave together a unique net of strategies that you can tap into as needed for coping with obstacles and stressors in your life.

I am experienced in Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness. I am intentional in working with my clients to explore their strengths, address stressors/barriers to change and facilitate their journey in creating real changes in their lives. I will work with you to ensure that you feel heard, safe and motivated while exploring emotions in session. When I’m not working, I am focused on my other passion that is cooking! I enjoy exploring and working with different recipes and making meaningful connections with others through food.
As a therapist I focus on developing a greater sense of awareness and presence. I believe that we all want to be understood and accepted at a deep level. I work in collaborative way and strive to create a safe, accepting and caring environment that I hope is also challenging and insightful to my clients. committed to resolving unhealthy thinking, perceptions, and behaviors. My goal is to work interactively with you to identify flawed schemas that no longer serve you to come together to build new patterns of being.
