I specialize in helping people who feel stuck in a cycle of exhaustion or overwhelm learn to break this cycle, find relief, feel more confident, and finally leave behind people-pleasing behaviors, perfectionism, and dysfunctional family patterns. Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Hilton, NY

I strive to create an atmosphere of trust, respect, and compassion that allows people to become more self-aware, to find healing, and to living a more fulfilling life. I'm very familiar with the needs and issues of undergraduate, graduate, and medical students because I worked for two years at the University Counseling Center and have had many students in my practice. I offer individual and relationship counseling and integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques based on the particular needs of each client or couple. I provide support and direction, but also find it essential to work collaboratively with my clients. And, I not only help address the specific problems clients bring to therapy, but also strive to assist them in identifying and fostering their specific strengths and abilities. I have a teletherapy only practice. I’ve worked with a large number of students via this format and it has proved very successful. Many people like it because it's so convenient, especially when they’re juggling a busy schedule or don't have transportation. I’m always glad to have an initial conversation to answer any questions you might have about teletherapy or my practice. A note about insurance and payment: Some insurances other than those listed under the finance section may be covered. Actual costs for therapy are based on your insurance's copay amounts. Most clients with insurance only pay between $10-$40 per session. If I'm not able to accept your insurance, session costs will be based on your income if you are emancipated from your parents or a graduate student. If you are still a dependent in your parent's household then your fee would be based on your parent's combined income.

Life is hard. For many of us, we often become overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, loneliness, uncertainty, fear, you name it. To make things worse, we experience trauma and discover that some of our deepest wounds come from our relationships. Of course, we want to protect ourselves from relationships, change, and the unknown. I get that. From working in schools, residential facility, and private practice setting, I've learned that there is also something inside each of us that yearns for healing, loving connection, and pure joy. So, what is getting in the way? Let's explore that together. I have a non-judgmental and compassionate approach when providing counseling for individuals. What that means is I relate to you as another imperfect human being who understands the impact of trauma, life transitions, stress, anxiety and several other factors that affect our day-to-day lives. I will offer you a space to freely explore your struggles and opportunities for healing. Let’s be real, we don’t know each other and it’s going to feel weird at first to share your story with me. I thank you for even considering. Sometimes the hardest step is the first one. I recognize and respect that. Whenever you’re ready, I am ready to join you. You don't have to figure it out on your own.

In your sessions I offer a safe space and a supportive, non-judgmental, and compassionate approach. You are in the driver’s seat. I’ve got the roadmap and I am ready to help you navigate your goals and guide you on your journey…the winding roads, the forks that unexpectedly spring up, the boulders that feel so heavy, and also celebrate the roads with smooth paths where you have the window down, feel the wind in your hair, and the smell of hope in the breeze. So get in the car (or hop on Zoom!), we’re going on a life trip! Throughout my career I have assisted individuals in their journeys with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, executive functioning skills, life transitions, relationships, and caregiving across the lifespan. Let’s do this. I believe in you and I can’t wait to start working with you. I specialize in (but not limited to) working with individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities, individuals with physical and acquired disabilities, individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis, as well as young adults navigating life transitions, college, and the overwhelming journey of “adulting.”

College and early adulthood can be exciting, but they can also feel overwhelming. You may be trying to balance classes, work, relationships, family expectations, and questions about your future, all while wondering if you’re the only one who doesn’t have everything figured out. Maybe you’re feeling anxious, burned out, lonely, stuck, or like you’re constantly overthinking. Many of the students I work with are thoughtful, motivated, and care deeply about doing well. From the outside, they often appear to have it together, but internally they’re struggling with stress, self-doubt, perfectionism, relationship challenges, or feeling disconnected from themselves. Therapy offers a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity. My approach is warm, collaborative, and genuine. I won’t just sit back and nod, I ask thoughtful questions, help you recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and support you in developing healthier ways of coping, communicating, and relating to yourself and others. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and challenged in ways that promote meaningful growth. I provide virtual therapy for college students and young adults throughout Florida, New Mexico, New York, and Texas, making it easier to fit therapy into your busy schedule. If you’re looking for a therapist who is compassionate, engaged, and committed to helping you navigate this stage of life, I’d be honored to work with you.

My story starts with losing a delivery job with UPS in my early 20s because I ran over two cones during training. I needed a new direction and found my passion for helping people. I am grateful I ran over those two cones because it changed my career. Now, I have 15 years of experience as a licensed mental health professional and started Cuda Counseling (CC), where I work with an amazing team. We help individuals succeed by dialing down their inner critic and creating an inner ally. I understand that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective counseling. That's why I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can freely discuss your challenges and wins. My action-oriented approach is designed to help you identify achievable measures of success, empowering you to realize your full potential. Don't hesitate to reach out if you're ready to experience inner freedom by identifying and overcoming challenging thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Let's connect and start your journey towards more joy, better relationships, and peace. Remember, the first step is often the hardest and most rewarding.

I work with individuals, couples, and families through a primarily psychodynamic framework. Through insight-oriented work with a focus on interpersonal relationship dynamics, attachment, and family systems, it is my goal to help the people I work with uncover repressed trauma from childhood and adolescence in order to gain a more nuanced understanding about their unhealthy relationship dynamics, from past and present, in order to live healthier and more fulfilling lives. I enjoy helping my patients develop a deeper sense of self-awareness in order to understand their emotional and interpersonal struggles. There are many different approaches to therapy, and it is my belief that it is best to adapt to the needs of each person I work with. We often learn to understand ourselves, and the actions and behaviors of others, through the lens of our early life experiences. It is my goal to help you disentangle the complex webs that we all form, which may feel insurmountable to conquer alone. I am committed to providing a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic space where we will explore uncharted areas of your life to make connections between prior experiences and current emotions in order to develop insight and growth. I strive to foster a compassionate healing environment in which I will help you form inner coping resources, so you may develop healthy relationships, gain self-esteem, and find relief from emotional distress. It is my goal to tailor treatment to fit your individual needs. Some of the most rewarding aspects of my work involve being able to assess your strengths, share that information with you, and help you implement those strengths in a positive way. When you are ready to take the next step, please call or email me for a complimentary phone consultation. I look forward to meeting you soon. *I am currently seeing patients for both virtual and in-person appointments.
