My story starts with losing a delivery job with UPS in my early 20s because I ran over two cones during training. I needed a new direction and found my passion for helping people. I am grateful I ran over those two cones because it changed my career. Now, I have 15 years of experience as a licensed mental health professional and started Cuda Counseling (CC), where I work with an amazing team. We help individuals succeed by dialing down their inner critic and creating an inner ally. I understand that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective counseling. That's why I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can freely discuss your challenges and wins. My action-oriented approach is designed to help you identify achievable measures of success, empowering you to realize your full potential. Don't hesitate to reach out if you're ready to experience inner freedom by identifying and overcoming challenging thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Let's connect and start your journey towards more joy, better relationships, and peace. Remember, the first step is often the hardest and most rewarding.

Hi, I’m Courtney! I provide talk therapy for individuals, families, and couples experiencing difficulties in their daily life. My specialities include college adjustment, anxiety, depression, substance use disorder, trauma, and women’s issues. I utilize person-centered, trauma-informed, and mindfulness-based practices. I also have a certification in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). In session, we will work together to alleviate difficult feelings. I believe that we are all the experts in our own lives, and that it’s helpful to process our experiences in order to get to know ourselves on a deeper level. My approach to counseling starts with building a safe environment to help you feel more empowered and capable of change. I know finding the right therapist can be a difficult process, and I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have as you start this courageous journey. I look forward to hearing from you!
My approach to therapy is based on the idea that if we can gain self-awareness and insight into our thoughts, feelings and behaviors, then we can learn and develop the skills we need to have more satisfying relationships, with ourselves and others, and better cope with life's challenges.
Jung said “We don’t get wounded alone and we don’t heal alone.” Meaning everything that is hurt within a relationship must be healed within one. As a therapist, I believe in deep relational work, whether that is in an individual setting or with a parent-child dyad/triad. I am not about “quick fixes” and believe that the best results come with time and curiosity. I work with both adults as well as caretakers of children alongside their child. I worked a significant portion of my career in a state setting, which has informed my approach as being anti-behavioral, conscious of the impact of systems, and recognizing the importance of our upbringing in our future wellness.

I am a licensed mental health counselor and provide both in-person and virtual visits for adults in New York State. My goal for therapy is to work towards helping my clients find the strength and resilience needed to get through what life brings to the table. I am a certified EMDR therapist, though I use multiple therapeutic approaches with each client and tailor therapy to each individual's needs. I take great pride in building a strong therapeutic relationship with the clients I see, as I believe that is the foundation of therapy! I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families as a whole. I love watching people grow throughout the therapeutic process, whether that entails mending strained relationships, working through trauma(s), embarking on a new journey, or finding personal strength. My passion to help others is what motivates me daily. It may be nerve wracking, overwhelming, and/or slightly uncomfortable, but just know that I am here to help, however I can. It can seem like a challenge to find a good therapist, but it is absolutely worth it to push forward until you find the best fit for you. I am licensed in New York, Colorado, Nevada, Florida, and South Carolina. Please note: I am not paneled with any insurance companies in Colorado, Florida, Nevada, or South Carolina.
