My approach as a clinician focuses on the idea that each individual has their own innate and unique strengths that make them powerful, and capable, as the experts of their own lives. My goal as a therapist is to create a shared space in which a client can reflect on and engage with their preferred way of being, in order to take steps towards authenticity. Through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices, I aim to assist clients in noticing, appreciating, and utilizing their own unique strengths to take steps towards goals or overcoming challenges in their everyday lives. If you are navigating the struggle of major life transitions like new jobs, moving from home, beginning higher education, ending a relationship, I can walk alongside you. With experience in working with the burnout and accumulated stress of students, I can provide individualized support and treatment. There is no need to take this journey alone. Together we can maneuver through the tough waters, embrace the joys we find, and Ride the Wave!

“Who in the world am I? Ah, that’s the great puzzle” -Alice in Wonderland As humans, we often carry complex emotions around with us as we move through life. That can be exhausting, especially when you haven’t had the time or space to fully process what you’re feeling, what you’ve been through, and how those experiences impact your life today. My hope is that therapy with me can be a place where you can find some reprieve from life's stressors, make sense of your experiences, and regain a sense of control. I enjoy working with folks who are navigating trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, life changes, and interpersonal challenges. My background in social work influences how I approach therapy, including how identity, relationships, environment, and larger systems can impact overall well-being. In my practice, I tend to use an integrative approach, drawing from CBT, DBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing, while incorporating psychoeducation and strengths-focused interventions. In addition to these modalities, it’s important to me that our working relationship is built on trust, care, and mutual respect, so we can work together to figure out what works best for you. Being a pet parent of three rescue rabbits and a bearded dragon, I’m drawn to animals who are often misunderstood, have complex needs, and need patience and trust before they feel safe opening up. That experience has deepened my appreciation for patience, curiosity, and meeting others where they are. I especially enjoy working with folks who may feel “different” or “too much”. I’m here to help you better understand your patterns and explore your goals, understanding that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. If you think we might be a good fit, feel free to reach out!

With a background in school counseling, I have developed a passion for supporting children, adolescents, and young adults. Through this experience, I provided short- and long-term individual counseling services, career counseling, crisis intervention, and group psychotherapy. I am particularly equipped to help clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, academic and social stress, career exploration, adjustment issues, self-esteem, and emotional regulation, among other general mental health concerns. Drawing on a strengths-based approach, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to guide clients in identifying their strengths, setting goals, building resilience, and developing adaptive coping strategies. I am committed to integrating therapeutic approaches and techniques that best fit each client’s needs. I believe in cultivating a therapeutic relationship through a warm, non-judgmental, collaborative environment. I strive to have clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change in their lives toward their growth and well-being. I am committed to continuous learning and professional development to better serve my clients.

If you've been carrying the weight of anxiety or depression, feeling stuck in patterns you can't seem to break, or wondering if anyone truly understands what you're going through, you're in the right place. You don't have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you must "have it all together." I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine relationship. I'll meet you with curiosity, honesty, and compassion while also helping you challenge the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we'll work to understand what has shaped your experiences, build practical skills to help you navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful changes that aligns with the life you want to live. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, everyday stress, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, neurodivergence, psychosis, and major life transitions. I'm especially passionate about supporting people who have felt overlooked, misunderstood, or like they have had to carry everything on their own. Whether you're a teen (or parent of one) trying to find your place, a young adult navigating life’s uncertainty, or someone who has spent years putting others before yourself, I want you to know you don't have to face it alone. My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and grounded in your strengths. I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring each session to your unique goals, values, and experiences. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, we'll work together to find what genuinely helps you move forward. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from North Carolina State University and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A) with extensive training in DBT and CBT. Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, and taking that first step is often the hardest part. If you're looking for someone who will listen, challenge you when it's helpful, celebrate your progress, and walk alongside you through life's ups and downs, I'd be honored to be part of your journey. I hope you'll reach out so we can see if we're a good fit.

Experience: Ebube (pronounced aye-boo-bay) is a warm, empathetic therapist who is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and families through a trauma-informed, equity-centered lens. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Social Work from Appalachian State University, graduating magna cum laude. Her clinical approach is rooted in direct practice with a strong foundation in social justice, restorative practices, and holistic mental health care. With experience across school systems, outpatient mental health, and community-based programs, Ebube is especially committed to creating safe, healing-centered spaces for young people and families navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and identity development. She has received specialized training through UNC PrimeCare 4 Youth in integrated behavioral health care for children and adolescents, and has completed certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She is currently completing training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to further support clients in developing emotional regulation, mindfulness, and effective coping skills. Her professional values are deeply informed by racial equity and restorative practices, with additional training through Organizing Against Racism (OAR) and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. These frameworks guide her in honoring each client’s lived experience and in fostering respectful, culturally responsive relationships. Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself, your child, Ebube provides a collaborative, nonjudgmental environment where healing and growth can take root. More than just my work: I would call myself a gamer, even though the only game I play is the Sims 4 :). I also enjoy gathering with friends and family, and my favorite TV show is Brooklyn 99. Client Focus: Individuals, Children (starting at 6+) Types of therapy: CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, Art Therapy, Play Therapy

Welcome! Reaching out and embarking on the journey of the therapeutic process is vulnerable and incredibly brave. I work with folks who are experiencing a range of life's challenges, including OCD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and relational challenges. I also have a special interest and experience in working with perinatal concerns. I build my practice around the belief that the most impactful therapeutic work occurs when there is a strong foundation of trust and understanding between the client and therapist. I will work to create a space with you where you can feel seen, heard, and safely challenged to grow and flourish.

The clients I work best with are often the ones who appear “put together” on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected on the inside. They’re typically reliable, high-functioning and used to being the person others depend on but privately, they may be dealing with anxiety, burnout, overthinking, or a sense that they’ve lost themselves in their roles. Many of my clients struggle with people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling responsible for others’ emotions. Some are navigating major life transitions like relationship changes, co-parenting, or figuring out their next steps in school or career. Others may not have a clear “reason” for therapy but know something feels off and want more clarity, balance, or a stronger sense of self. I work well with folks who are open to looking a little deeper, at patterns in relationships, how past experiences may still be showing up, and how stress or emotions live in the body. You don’t have to have it all figured out. If you’re willing to be curious about yourself and want practical tools alongside deeper understanding, this space can be a good fit.

Beginning the work of therapy can bring up many emotions, and I am here to be with you through all of them. I approach therapy with reverence for your lived experience, nervous system, and desires for the future. I specialize in working with teenagers through adults to address concerns related to anxiety, depression, life transitions big or small, religion and identity, and family of origin issues. I’m passionate about working with parents to explore their own histories and ties to the present, as well as individuals seeking to understand their experience of neurodivergence or that of a loved one. I utilize a psychodynamic approach and draw from relational-cultural theory, polyvagal theory, and internal family systems. This means we will wonder together about the ways past experiences and relationships impact you in the present emotionally, mentally, and physically. I'm deeply committed to maintaining an anti-racist, neurodiversity-affirming, and queer-affirming practice, considering clients and their challenges in the context of oppressive systems. I know how challenging it can be to find a therapist who feels like a good fit, and I'd love to connect with you if anything in my approach resonates with your experiences.

Together we can create a toolbox of strategies for coping with life’s stressors.
