If you’re here, it might be because stress and worry have started to take over your daily life. Maybe your mind is constantly racing with “what ifs,” feelings of self-doubt, or uncertainty about what to do next. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. My passion is helping people find relief from anxiety and rediscover a sense of calm and confidence. We’ll start by focusing on what helps you feel more stable and grounded, so those overwhelming thoughts and feelings don’t have as much control. From there, we’ll work toward your bigger goals, whether that’s navigating relationships, healing from past experiences, or just feeling more like yourself again. I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 11 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families in private practice and university settings. I specialize in supporting people through anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, stress, trauma, self-esteem issues, and grief. Finding the right therapist can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re curious about working together, I’d love to connect. Let’s set up a free consultation to talk through any questions you have and see if we’re the right fit.

I believe that black lives matter, love is love, science is real, women rights are human rights, I believe healthcare is a human right and not a privilege and every BODY is deserving of love/support/healing. I believe that we are made of many parts and that our overall wellness cannot exist without mental clarity. I value therapy for my own personal self, and as a result, I value and cherish the opportunity to be a part of someone else's therapy journey. I provide a trauma informed and culturally sensitive space where I utilize my trainings in EMDR, biofeedback and psychotherapy with children, teens, and adults. My areas of expertise include trauma/PTSD/Complex PTSD, anxiety, general life stress/changes, and stress management.
“One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.” Abraham Maslow Perhaps you're feeling down or anxious - maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, aren't satisfied with how you're managing stressors, feeling burned out or depleted, or feel worn out by past experiences and difficult to bear emotions. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support and guidance from a well versed, compassionate and non-judgmental perspective. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery. In my sessions I promote improved awareness of the processes that lead to a sense of feeling stuck, skills to meaningfully improve your relationships, and transformation in the way you think and respond to your experiences. You will find a strong focus on restorative techniques used to soothe the nervous system. Teaching the skills necessary to calm our physiological as well as our cognitive responses lead to the most balanced outcomes and meaningful change.
Hi, my name is Sara. I often work with individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by mental health challenges. There is something getting in the way of a more meaningful life. This can show up as an addiction, OCD, anxiety, low self-esteem, or another mental health concern. I believe that everyone has the natural drive and ability to live a fulfilling life, with the right supports and resources. My approach is rooted in the belief that therapy is not about "fixing" but about learning to reconnect with parts of ourselves that we once had to push aside. Change cannot happen without safety. I seek to create an environment where you can show up exactly as you are. We will work together to explore old patterns with compassion and curiosity and create new patterns in the present moment. We will try to understand the roadblocks to a meaningful life, while honoring that there are wisdom and pain in old patterns. Therapy is not an easy process, but my hope is that you feel empowered and challenged to meet your goals in a safe environment. You are the expert of your life, and I will go at the pace that makes sense for you and your nervous system. If you are ready, I would love the opportunity to walk alongside you on your healing journey.
Are you overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, or struggling in your relationships? We create a safe space for you to come and just be yourself, get curious about what's going on, and create a plan for getting back on track. We are trauma-informed, holistically-minded therapists who will help you grow healthier in your body, soul, and spirit.
I work with people who are dealing with stress, anxiety, pain, grief/loss, illness, self-esteem concerns, and self-criticism. I teach mindfulness skills to help you reduce stress, anxiety and pain, and cope more effectively with grief, loss, and illness. I'll teach you how to feel better, feel better about yourself, and treat yourself with greater kindness and compassion. We have more control over our lives than it sometimes seems that we do. I teach people how to manage your thoughts and feelings so that you feel a greater sense of calm, happiness, and well-being. I'll teach you how to get unstuck, set clear intentions for your life, and take action to achieve your intentions and goals. **All sessions are telehealth.**

My work as a clinician centers around the belief that therapy begins when you meet individuals where they are. I strive to empower clients to identify and utilize their strengths as well as work toward their goals. I am licensed through the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board as a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate. I received my Master’s Degree from Winthrop University with a focus on empowerment practice. As everyone has walked different journeys in life, their process in therapy should be just as unique. I have experience using several therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, solution focused therapy as well as play therapy. I am constantly researching and participating in continuing education to learn more techniques to help the individuals I serve. I strive to provide a compassionate but honest space for clients to grow and heal. I look forward in partnering together to improve your mental health!

Secondly, clients with medical/health issues such as breast cancer, end stage renal disease, heart, and diabetic illnesses etc. In addition, with over 10 years of school counseling experience, she works with adolescent and children with social, emotional, medical and career issues. Her special interests also is to see clients with severe anxiety and depressive issues, and use group counseling specializations to reach each population above. Levette’s approach is ultimately an eclectic one (meaning using different theoretical approaches). The counseling session is sometimes guided by cognitive-behavioral theory (CBT), cognitive information processing, solution focus therapy, and reality therapy for my clients. With individual and group counseling clients are guided through these theories. The goal is to assist the client in making changes to the way persons think so that they can change. Counseling is a joint effort, which cannot be successful without client’s hard work, energy and courage. There are many reasons people seek counseling, regardless of the reasons, she believes an enhanced sense of self understanding and acceptance is essential in all situations (this includes understanding how past experiences have shaped the way we view ourselves.
