I am a clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience. I am accepting new clients who live and/or attend school in Indiana, Colorado or any other state covered by psypact (https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap). If you’re a college student navigating stress, anxiety, academic pressures, or life transitions, you’re not alone. As a clinical psychologist working from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework, I help young adults develop practical skills to manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors more effectively. CBT is an evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors that may be holding you back. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, or self-doubt, therapy can provide you with tools to build resilience, confidence, and a greater sense of well-being. College can be an exciting but overwhelming time. Let’s work together to create strategies that empower you to thrive.

Life is full of transitions and pivotal moments. Some exciting, some heartbreaking, all with the potential to feel overwhelming. You deserve to prioritize your health and well-being so that you can live fully and meaningfully. It can often feel challenging figuring out how to navigate major life transitions and stressors and I am here to offer support, help you feel heard and work with you to develop the skills to feel more in control of your life. I want to understand your unique experiences and values so that we can work together to identify the root of your struggles, build on your strengths and find solutions to your most pressing concerns. Whether you are struggling with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, finding your identity, feeling overwhelmed, amongst other concerns, I welcome the opportunity to talk with you to see if we are a good fit to work together or to answer any questions you may have. In addition to having extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults, I have specialized training in women's health issues, including infertility, pregnancy and postpartum.

Hi! Many of the clients I work with are looking to work through trauma and work towards building and maintaining fulfilling relationships, process trauma from relationships, reduce anxiety and depression, and learn healthy coping skills. In sessions I place high importance on the relationships I build with my clients as this plays the most crucial role in therapy success. I model my values by maintaining an approach that is affirming, trauma-informed, open-minded, and compassionate while also being direct. My approach will honor your unique experience and be focused on your personal needs. I incorporate CBT, RCT, EMDR & narrative therapy into our sessions to help you navigate harmful thinking patterns/behaviors, process trauma, & have healthier relationships with yourself/others.

I aspire to be a healing force for connection, walking with you to explore the depths of your experiences and relationships. This process enables one to discover new ways of relating to themselves, others, and their world- nurturing a more intimate relationship with oneself makes space for deeper connections throughout life. A quote that speaks to me on this is “Techniques only work when they are not techniques; change happens when one becomes what they already are, not when they try to be what they are not". I specialize in helping people explore how their worldview shapes their interactions with themselves, others, and their environment- particularly through the lens of connection and meaning. We’ll work together to navigate all the parts of yourself that show up in the world, fostering a sense of wholeness, alignment, and possibility. Having an exploration heavy approach, areas that I typically work with are identity, relationships, career, spirituality, depression, trauma, anxiety, neurodivergence, and anger. If this resonates with you, I would be happy to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. Let’s explore how therapy can help you live a more meaningful and connected life.

I believe that therapy can help us to move toward greater self-understanding, empowerment, and fulfillment. I strive to create a supportive therapeutic space in which you and I can collaboratively process through thoughts, feelings, and experiences with openness and compassion. So often societal messages and stigmas can cause us to view our behaviors with shame and judgment, which can lead us to feel even more stuck. My goal is to support you in slowing down, shifting toward curiosity and compassion, and feeling empowered to make the changes that you seek. We are living in a pressure-filled, anxiety inducing world and I am here to help you navigate through it! I am passionate about helping my clients deal with all of the everyday life “stuff” that they and so many others struggle with. In today’s society, it feels like so many people are pressured to fit inside a certain box to “qualify for” or “need” therapy. With my experience working with diverse clientele in various settings, I strive to be a clinician who is working towards changing the narrative on who therapy is or is not intended for. I understand first hand the pressures, unrealistic expectations, and struggles we are faced with on a regular basis. My practice focuses primarily on anxiety and depression, as well as working with clients who simply just need someone to talk to. I hear you, I'm here for you, and I want to help. I am here and ready to take this journey with you, all you have yo do is reach out!

Specializing in trauma and relationship healing, which includes work as a Certified EMDR therapist. My work also incorporates CBT, emotion-focused, client-centered and psychodynamic aspects. Typical symptom presentation includes anxiety/panic, sadness/depression, grief and loss, fear or anger.

Now welcoming new clients. I have a passion for working with clients who come from complex family systems and are ready to break away and heal from harmful generational patterns. Clients come to me when they are struggling to re-connect with the authentic version of themselves and/or want to heal from relational wounds and deepen their connection with others. It can be hard to exist authentically in the world due to trauma, societal expectations, and systemic concerns, but becoming the best version of yourself is possible. I utilize an empathetic, humanistic, and strength-based approach. I recognize that all of my clients are unique and, as such, have diverse wants, needs, goals, and expectations of self. I will meet you where you are at, help you identify what the best version of yourself looks like, and help to unpack the roadblocks along the way. I believe in humanizing the experience of therapy and view the therapist-client relationship as an active agent for change. To share your vulnerabilities, fears, and apprehensions with someone is courageous and it is my honor to walk alongside you on this journey!

I enjoy learning about clients from a very dynamic perspective - where they came from, how they are now, and who they wish to become. I look forward to working with you and watching you grow into the person you have always wanted to be. I am trained in both short term (6-10 sessions) and long term therapy, and encourage clients to make their own decision regarding what they need from therapy. I also do stand-alone evaluations for emotional support animal letters.

I have worked in mental health since 2011 with a wide range of people. I mostly help people who are experiencing the effects of stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma, among other things. I focus on building a quality relationship with people I work with, where you feel seen, heard, and understood. I also incorporate approaches that draw on recent neuroscience research in order to provide tools and resources that can be used in the present moment, while we find ways of addressing underlying causes and creating long term change. Many people who find their way to me have already been in therapy and are looking for something a little different from traditional "talk therapy". I am committed to multiculturalism and am a LGBTQ+ ally. A few modalities I employ are EMDR, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Gottman Institute, Experiential/Somatic/Gestalt (including parts work). Please feel free to explore the website, or reach out if you have any questions. Thank you.

I was born and raised in Rockford, Ill. before moving to Columbia, Mo. to attend the University of Missouri. I graduated with a Bachelors of Journalism and moved to Rogers, Ark. where I worked as an editor and designer for Celebrate Arkansas Magazine. I fell in love with Northwest Arkansas and stayed in the area to attend graduate school at the University of Arkansas. I earned a Masters of Science in Counseling in 2015 and opened a small practice in 2016. I relocated to Denver, Colorado in 2020. I decided to become a counselor because -- most simply put -- I believe in counseling. Throughout my own counseling work I have come to see the value in sitting across from another person and allowing them to see all of me—my fears, my doubts, my shame, my joy, my hurt. I find author and researcher Brene´ Brown sums it up best: “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”

I help students struggling with anxiety and ADHD gain confidence and develop skills that support their neurodiverse brains. People diagnosed with ADHD are more likely to experience challenges with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, and sleep disorders; this combination can make functioning day-to-day feel like an uphill battle. In our work together, we'll explore self-compassion, your beliefs about yourself and the world, and actions to take to help you feel better. For clients who struggle with ADHD, we'll find ways to improve your executive function skills and how to advocate for your needs as a neurodiverse person. Finding a therapist can be a daunting task, I offer a complimentary 15-minute, no-strings-attached initial consultation so you can decide if I fit what you're looking for. If I'm not a match, I'll provide referrals to other providers who might be what you're looking for.

Do you feel stuck? Do you feel like you know all the rules and what you are “supposed to do” but somehow can’t get where you want to go? As your therapist, it is my goal to help you feel at home in your mind, body, and heart. I can help deconstruct and shift your “shoulds” into something that feels more authentic and meaningful to you. We also can dig into your past and explore how old coping mechanisms that may have helped at one time are now limiting. I am trained in a myriad of techniques—including mindfulness and EMDR—to gently guide your mind and body back to the present moment to a state of well-being and resiliency. I believe in your innate goodness and will always remind and point this out to you. I cannot tell you what is right/wrong or healthy/unhealthy and I resist being another voice telling you what you are “supposed to do”. My job is to provide a warm and accepting space to not just think and talk but to feel the big emotions. I will ask questions, reflect, and ponder alongside you as we rediscover your inherent wisdom and regain a sense of freedom. My clients tend to be intelligent humans who feel caught in their anxious minds, trauma, or simply desire support in living a more authentic and meaningful life. I work with people suffering from anxiety, perfectionism, life changes and transitions, grief, disordered eating, trauma, panic attacks, binge eating disorder, low self esteem, poor body image, and depression among many more. Let’s connect. I’d love to hear from you. Book a free 20 minute phone consult: https://electra-byers.clientsecure.me

At the heart of my work is respect for your agency, deep curiosity about your lived experience, and belief in your capacity for growth and change. I offer a steady, collaborative space where individuals, couples, friends, and families can slow down, reflect, and explore patterns shaping their relationships and inner lives. Therapy with me is not about labeling or judging, it's about understanding what's going on, making sense of it together, and opening up new possibilities. I value authenticity, compassion, and connection, and I work alongside clients to build insight and practical tools that support balance, resilience, and deeper relational connection. Feeling stuck often signals a transition rather than a failure, and together we can create space for clarity, empowerment, and what’s ready to emerge next.
