My goal is to provide a therapy space where the heart, mind, and body can come together to heal in a neutral, nonjudgmental, whole-person way. You will feel listened to and can come as you are and be accepted. Within this comfortable therapy space, you will have the freedom to be creative with your natural healing process. My intention is for you to experience and benefit from insights and therapy ideas that are tailored specifically to you. You will have the freedom to create the life you most want to live. I bring to therapy many years of professional and life experience. I have had professional experience with, as well as, in some cases, close personal association or life-experience with: addiction issues, codependency, all types of trauma and PTSD, severe mental and physical illness, bipolar disorder, depression, divorce, abusive relationships, legal difficulties, gender expression, sexuality differences, grief, elder issues, and anxiety. Every person is unique and a mystery. I love my job because it is endlessly fascinating and fulfilling to meet each new person as they are, help them explore their lives, and guide them to discover their unique path. I look forward to meeting you!

I help people who feel stunted by the lingering impact of trauma and early childhood relational wounding. I offer a welcoming space where safety and trust are imperative, inviting my clients to be truly heard and seen in a non-judgmental environment. By aligning to client's innate wisdom and utilizing Somatic, trauma and other mindfulness based modalities, I assist clients in feeling heard, empowered and supported to work through trauma and relational wounds. Together we set out on a journey to find greater flexibility and ease in life and to feel freedom and confidence to have a life worth living. As a graduate of Naropa University's Contemplative Psychotherapy program I have trained in intensive mindfulness meditation practices which generate greater curiosity, self-compassion and wisdom. With this as my therapeutic base, I incorporate Somatic Experiencing, EMDR and other somatic based modalities for treating trauma, attachment and relational wounds.

It's dangerous to go alone! If you're struggling to cope with stressors or experiencing mental health concerns, you deserve help. Together, we can understand your life experiences so far and envision a better world moving forward. I believe the stories we love can help us heal from our real-life experiences. Stories of heroism, triumph over the odds, and simple survival remind us of our shared humanity and our resilience. Whether it’s a video game, a book, a movie, or a TV show, we can use those references in our talk therapy to understand and change your hero’s journey for the better. I utilize psychodynamic and person-centered counseling to assist you in growth. In addition to mental health counseling for a variety of concerns, I am also passionate about gender-affirming care and have assisted clients in transition by providing necessary documentation and exploring gender expression.

At my core I’m a human being continually learning to love all that it means to have a human experience in our crazy world. The natural world is my muse, and I enjoy live music, hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, and overlanding the American West. My personal journey through life has helped me to develop a keen interest in human emotion, thoughts, and experiences. Through an attitude of curiosity, I’ve learned to allow my own experiences, emotions and thoughts to inform my moment-by-moment existence in a way that permits me to truly love my life. Strongly influenced by American psychologist Carl Rogers, I believe each human being has a unique and individual definition of what it means to live a life they love. In order to attain this, like Rogers, I believe people need acceptance, genuineness and empathy. My approach to therapy aims to help you live a life you love by weaving in a number of modalities including DBT, ACT, CBT, IFS, and mindfulness. My methodology is grounded in psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, psychoanalytic theory, trauma-informed psychotherapy, and a relationship-centered approach to therapy. Prior to my MSW, I received my BA in Mathematics and had a career in data and analytics. I love logic and using data to inform thoughtful decision-making. In a therapeutic context this means practicing deep listening to ensure I capture my clients’ unique words, feelings, insights, emotions, and stories. Through this, I aim to support you in realizing your potential and achieving your goals. I support people and couples through a number of different mental health difficulties including but not limited to trauma, loss, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, anger, addictions, self-esteem issues, body-dysmorphia, and other life transitions.

We are starving to discover the truth, to show the world who we really are, and we need to have our truth held with compassion. We all want to experience being fully seen. We want to feel connected to others. Sadly, many of us don’t often experience being seen in a non-judgmental light. My strength as a therapist is in my capacity to recognize your preciousness and your capacity for wholeness, while helping you to align with your truth. I work with individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents, and groups to heal past wounds and evolve out of patterns of self-sabotage. Throughout our work I will support you in cultivating self-compassion, resilience and empowerment. I focus on the impact of trauma, and a variety of disorders including anxiety, depression, insomnia, personality disorders, eating disorders and chronic pain issues. Within a trusting therapeutic relationship, my clients and I co-create a foundation which allows clients to hone into their intuition, improve their relationships, decrease emotional suffering, and increase their overall joy. I use a mindfulness-body-centered approach, integrating many modalities, cultural responsiveness and evidenced-based research.

I believe in empowering my clients to access and to unfold to their own inner wisdom and brilliance. Rather than providing all the answers or solutions, I facilitate a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients can investigate their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. My academic journey has taken me to many different countries, and I am passionate about combining my interest in western psychology with the ancient wisdom of Buddhist psychology. I earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Canterbury University, New Zealand (2009) and her master’s degree in motivational psychology from the University in Zurich, Switzerland (2012). She also holds an additional master's degree from Naropa University in contemplative psychology. I bring my unique blend of experiences to her work. Among other adventures, I have worked in Zanskar Valley in Ladakh, Northern India and has studied psychology in Nepal, Indian. I have also taught Yoga and Yoga therapy to athletes. I take a trauma informed approach to therapy, combining her training in Somatic Experiencing with other contemplative approaches as well as elements of IFS, Polyvagal, solution focused therapy, and positive psychology. Offering therapy online.

I work with many college students who are needing some support, guidance, and tools that can help them navigate their current life situation. I personally understand, from my own experience at college, some of the challenges and difficulties that can arise, so there is a lot of compassion and understanding for what you may be experiencing. I also have experience working with local students at CU. College can be exciting, fresh, and new. At the same, it puts us in completely new surroundings and situations. Overwhelm is natural. To any student who is considering therapy, I hope you know that overwhelm doesn't mean that something has gone wrong. It's normal when there are so many big changes taking place. My job is primarily to listen to you, and to really try to understand things from your perspective. This in itself is quite relieving: to be heard, seen, and understood. There's no reason for you to feel completely alone and isolated in your experience. Above all, you will find a supportive space in my practice for you to be at ease and be yourself. There are many wonderful counselors out there, and many not-so-good ones. My strong advice to you is to find a therapist who you really like, and don't stop looking for one until you find them. Before and during my own college experience, I had visited several counselors who I didn't have a real connection with. It wasn't until I was 22 that I found a counselor who I really connected with. Counseling should be a very positive experience. It is a huge resource in life. Trust yourself about what feels good to you - and go for it!
