I offer a welcoming, down-to-earth space where children, teens, and adults can show up just as they are. My approach is open, collaborative, and person-centered—because I believe therapy should feel like a safe space to explore, heal, and grow at your own pace. Whether you're navigating anxiety, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, or something that’s hard to name, I’m here to meet you with curiosity, compassion, and respect. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches including Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Reality Therapy. I also take a trauma-informed lens into every session, tailoring my approach to meet each client’s unique needs and lived experiences.

Many different disorders can be improved or be eliminated by using neurofeedback. First a QEEG is collected. This involves placing a cap on the client’s head and collecting brain wave information from 19 specific sites. This information is processed, and a brain map is produced. The therapist then evaluates the data, completes a comprehensive health history, and then based on both symptoms and goals, develops an individualized protocol of successive neurotherapy sessions. Treatment is noninvasive, is not painful, but does require a commitment. Just as you must work out your body consistently to see results, neurofeedback sessions must be completed two to three times a week to be beneficial. The neurofeedback treatments involve placing sensors on the scalp. The sensors pick up brainwave signals which are first amplified and then filtered through software that works with a computer to generate real time feedback. The brain activity is either increased or decreased in the identified areas until the optimal balance is achieved The typical treatment plan will vary from individual to individual, but most common disorders can be resolved in about 40 sessions.
My belief is that everyone can benefit from therapy and having the support of an unbiased person to talk to. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the belief that our thoughts create our feelings, and that if we change our negative thinking our feelings will change. CBT teaches that it is not the event which causes the emotion (and our behavioral reaction) but the meaning we give that event - or what we think ABOUT that event. There are many powerful tools that have been developed to help you change your negative thoughts and feelings. Working with a Mental Health Therapist will help you learn how to use those tools to make changes in your life and relationships. Negative distorted thoughts tell us “once everything falls into place, I will feel peace”. Therapy helps you find your peace and then everything falls into place.

During the first session, our goal is to start to get to know you, what’s important to you, what you’re experiencing, what may still be lingering from the past, what your strengths and resources are, and to set some initial goals for our work together. Based on the initial session and our collaborative conversation, we will have some ideas as to the approaches that will be likely to help you achieve the change you’re striving for. Our varied educational and professional backgrounds mean that we’re ready to help a wide variety of clients. We utilize a variety of approaches and techniques that will work for YOU, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, existential therapy, emotion-focused couples therapy, and others. All of our work is trauma-informed.

You’re functional on the outside but feel stuck on the inside, repeating the same patterns in anxiety, relationships, or habits you can’t seem to change. You’re sick of surface-level advice and want therapy that gets to the root of what’s driving things. As a psychodynamic therapist, I offer a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and explore the patterns shaping your life. I believe that you are the expert on your own experience. My role is to listen carefully, offer challenges when helpful, & support you in changing what isn't working.

My name is Sarah and I am a licensed clinical social worker in Colorado. I help a wide range of students who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-harm and other trauma related symptoms. I am also here to help you through the pressures and obstacles associated with school and becoming an adult. Not everything needs to be diagnosed! Sometimes, we just need someone who can help us navigate through challenges and feelings of loneliness or low self-esteem. There is no reason to feel like you need to go through this alone.
I've been practicing for 12+ years and in recent years have realized that I love working with individual women 15+yo, so I began catering my practice ONLY to this population! Please check out my website - I hope it will answer many of your questions, but please reach out to me by phone or email with any additional questions. Also, though you can book an appointment directly through my website and I try to keep those options updated, please contact me if you'd like to make an appointment but none of the times listed work for you. This has been an incredibly difficulty time dealing with world/US events in addition to school and life transitions and I'd be glad to help you navigate whatever areas of life are bringing you to counseling at this time.
I am here to help. Feelings of sadness, stress, negative thoughts, and overwhelming struggles can sometimes be too difficult to fight on your own. Sometimes it takes someone else’s support for you to begin to make changes yourself. We can work together to support you in making your days great.
