I started Influential Connections Counseling, after having worked 11 years with adults and families in the human service areas of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, domestic violence, relationship challenges, and various mental health diagnoses. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified social worker. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship. A relationship that relies on trust, connection, empathy, and mutual respect. It can take time to build the therapeutic relationship. I often describe therapy as a space to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly. Life is challenging, ever changing, and beautiful. Whether life's changes are positive or negative, it influences our mental health, our relationships, and our physical bodies. The therapeutic process happens in session and in your daily life as you build self-awareness and enhance skills to obtain your goal(s).
I strive to create a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore past experiences, navigate current challenges, and build meaningful change. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside clients to identify their strengths, develop practical coping skills, and move toward the life they want to create.
