Currently accepting new clients who live in Texas! You’re exhausted and worn out from the daily tasks of life and the emotions that feel all too heavy right now. You find yourself losing track of time, endlessly scrolling through the internet just to take your mind off things. You crave connection with those around you, but the heaviness of your emotions makes you feel like you’re a burden to those closest to you. On the inside, you battle with thoughts of all the ways that you do not measure up, and the feeling of never being good enough. You worry if people really want to be your friend and know you for you. The feelings of anxiety and loneliness feel closest to you. You are usually the one to put others first, but you worry if people really see you and know you for you. You crave authentic connection and a space to be heard, seen, and accepted for who you truly are, and not what others expect you to be. You want to belong, to vulnerably share life with friends and family, to love and be loved without fear. You’ve tried figuring out things on your own and even dab in the latest self-help trend, but you have found that it’s not working as you had imagined. You are used to being self-sufficient and sorting out things on your own, but you have come to realize that you need help. It takes courage to ask for help, we are not meant to do life alone but are made for connection. You see this, you know this, you seek this. I understand that hesitancy can accompany the idea of therapy, so I prioritize creating a safe and trusting space that allows you to come out of hiding and show up as yourself, as you feel seen and heard to process your thoughts and emotions. During our time together we will explore your story and the deeper meanings and root causes of your pain, childhood experiences, difficult thoughts, and behavior patterns. Through a lens of curiosity, you will gain greater insight and new tools to bring about the change that you have been desiring. Sessions with me are filled with compassion, warmth, non-judgment, and authenticity. I want to help you reconnect with yourself and leave those worries behind, so you can live a more peaceful life. Christian counseling is available for clients requesting it. Together, we will get you to a place where you are able to show up as yourself in relationships, meaningfully connect with those around you, to enjoy the life that you are currently living. Feel free to send a message, to see if we will be a good fit!

However, in full disclosure, I don't take myself too seriously, and I wholeheartedly feel that being a bit goofy, and being quirky, and maybe a bid different is okay! Many times, it is more than ok, and what makes us more of an individual, helps on the journey to wellness, being unapologetically yourself, putting a laugh out there to the universe and finding the good things in life along the way. Humor and levity may be evident and incorporated into the therapeutic process. I feel that everyone should have the ability to access mental wellness support and counseling. I help young adults who feel out of control of their lives. Stressed Out. Overwhelmed. Not quite sure how this whole adulting thing works. Trying to balance school, work, family, friends, and relationships. My clients struggle like you do. Despite being smart, driven, and funny, life is hard. When clients first come in, they may not feel enjoyment in the same activities they used to love. They may tend to mindlessly watch Youtube instead of completing their to-do list. They feel so stressed that they don’t finish tasks, and then beat themselves up for not completing it. The cycle continues as they feel worse and worse. My clients come into therapy looking for support, avoid doing things they used to love, have trouble connecting with family and friends, and find themselves second guessing their decisions. Choices may seem overwhelming, as if one wrong move sends them back to square one. They can’t sleep at night and have trouble completing assignments for college. In counseling, clients and I work together to see their choices in a wider lens and find ways that they are in control. We come up with plans to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Please contact me if you’re ready to take control of your life and be the person you want to be.
I am a patient, compassionate, non-judgmental helping professional who understands struggle and uncertainty. I believe that people are generally doing their best, and that growth and change can be difficult, uncomfortable, and scary. I think that having someone help you navigate through times of uncertainty, sit with you in your struggles, and challenge your beliefs and behaviors can be instrumental in understanding how and why your behavior patterns are contributing to your distress and preventing you from moving forward. I approach counseling from an interpersonal attachment-based perspective, in that I believe relational issues are the driving force behind our emotions, motivations, and behaviors. I specialize in working with clients who struggle with substance use and abuse, specifically individuals who work in the service and hospitality industries. I also have experience counseling clients with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, and relationship difficulties. I received my Masters in Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans and I am a provisionally licensed professional counselor. I find inspiration personally and professionally in the works of Brené Brown, Irvin Yalom, Gabor Maté, and Thich Nhat Han. I counsel individuals, groups, and couples. I respect everyone's individuality and do not discriminate against anyone.
