Therapists for college students near University of Texas at Austin
CopeWell Psychiatry & Wellness
Hi, I’m Dr. Udo Chukwuocha, a doctoral-prepared psychiatric and family nurse practitioner who offers a supportive and holistic approach to mental health. I work well with college students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, unmotivated, emotionally stuck, or experiencing sleep and focus issues. Many of my clients are adjusting to big life transitions, juggling school and personal pressures, or trying to make sense of their emotions and habits. I especially enjoy supporting students from BIPOC and immigrant communities, as well as women navigating mood changes related to hormones. If you’ve had negative experiences with mental health care before or felt misunderstood, I strive to create a space that feels inclusive, collaborative, and respectful of your unique background. My approach blends medication management with lifestyle coaching, brief supportive therapy, and integrative tools like supplements and lab testing when helpful. If you're looking for care that looks at the bigger picture—not just symptoms—I’d be glad to support you.

Billie Beard
Hello my name is Billie. Like so many people I grew up in a conservative town that made it clear that they saw Queerness as "evil" and "destroying the family." I started Texas Queer Counseling to allow people the space to figure out who they are, away from the expectations society places on us. As a transwoman I know the state of Texas has is not a safe place to live. It is also important to find the joy of being Queer. Don't be as miserable as the people trying to criminalize our lives. I offer a complimentary 30 minute session.

My goal is to help clients who have trauma, specifically medical trauma, manage their symptoms and learn how to navigate life again! I am most interested in helping people connect to their mind and body again, so they truly feel like they are living in their bodies and being present. Therapy is a collaborative process, so there is a level of trust that must go into each client and each session. My areas of interest as a counselor are trauma-focused, veterans, medical trauma, depression/anxiety, substance use, and sexual assault survivors.

You’ve worked hard to get where you are. You’re successful, capable, and admired — yet inside you might feel anxious, overwhelmed, or like you’re barely holding it together. I often work with high-functioning students, student athletes, graduate students and new graduates and professionals who look put together on the outside but struggle with self-doubt, hidden stress, and emotions that feel out of control. You may be tired of carrying it all alone or feel like something has to change but don’t know where to start. I provide a grounded, supportive space where your experience is taken seriously and your goals matter. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that keep you feeling stuck and develop practical, personalized strategies that help you feel more confident, centered, and in charge of your life again. I help you strengthen internal resilience, deepen self-awareness, and build habits that align with the person you want to be. Many clients find greater clarity, calm, and self-trust as they learn to respond to life rather than just react. About Life can feel like standing at a crossroads with no clear signs. The pressure to have it all figured out — your career, your relationships, your sense of self — can quietly build into something heavier than you expected. If you're waking up exhausted, struggling to feel motivated, and carrying a low hum of worry that never quite goes away, you're not alone. And you don't have to keep pushing through it on your own. I specialize in working with adults navigating the overlapping challenges of anxiety and depression — two experiences that often travel together, each making the other harder to manage. You might find yourself caught in cycles of overthinking and withdrawal, feeling both restless and empty at the same time. That tension is real, and it makes sense given everything you're carrying. My approach combines talk therapy with practical, evidence-based tools designed to build lasting change. Together, we'll work to untangle the thought patterns keeping you stuck, develop coping skills you can actually use in daily life, and strengthen your emotional resilience and flexibility — so that when life gets hard, you have real resources to draw on. I create a space that is warm, judgment-free, and genuinely tailored to who you are, and what works for you.
