Our time together will be spent figuring the aspects- emotional, intellectual, sensory-based, and behavioral- of life through out your own story. Growing into learning how to listen to yourself so you can trust what it is you know, and what it is you need will be at the core of each session so that the feelings of stress, overwhelm, anxiousness, depression no longer keep you detached from yourself. The tools I use are done with cultural considerations, and by acknowledging the extra burdens social constructs and systemic environments put on you. I start with listening and being a witness to your story. With your consent, I use therapeutic tools to assist you in taking an objective stance in your story, and in offering yourself compassion. Continuing through developing and honing in on how you understand your experience through strengthening the connection between your mind and body. I am also trained in and have used EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) with children, teens, adults of both the neurodiverse (Autism, ADHD, etc.) and neurotypical populations. EMDR is used in session, with your consent, when you feel the need to address larger internal hurdles such as phobias or trauma(s) (also known as PTSD or C-PTSD). All of the work will be done at your pace and with your specific needs in mind. I am an affirming counselor and believe counseling should be for everyone. I understand the systemic pressure that can have you trying to “get it right!” A benefit to you may be my stance on de-stigmatizing mental health by avoiding rigid diagnoses and accepting that there is more than one way to live and thrive in this/your world.  I will be ready when you are. Until then, good luck on your search. My license number is #93296. I am supervised by Stamatis Bogdanos, LPC-S | #64556 in Houston, Tx. Do you find yourself fighting with negative thoughts? We all go through life, experiencing difficulties that shape us in different ways. These changes can make following a healthy lifestyle difficult, including adding to these negative thoughts. I believe that understanding and accepting your life experiences is key to returning to a healthy lifestyle. Drawing from my personal struggles with mental health and neurodivergence, I take a highly personalized approach to therapy. I primarily practice person-centered talk therapy, while integrating Acceptance and Commitment, EMDR, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to tailor our sessions to your personal needs. I understand that reaching out for help can be challenging, but I strive to maintain a judgment-free space where you can express whatever is on your mind. If you’re ready to take the next step, please feel free to email or call me anytime during the week. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey towards healing and growth!

Sometimes we have moments in our lives were we feel lost in our present and wonder where our confident past self went. We have other moments where we feel pulled in many directions by friends, family, work, and or school. This feeling of being pulled is overwhelming and sometimes brings about guilt. My name is Adenike (Aah-deh-knee-keh). I am a first-generation Nigerian/Haitian, queer, cis woman; my pronouns are she/her. Let’s sit down and talk about life. I will hold a safe, trusting, and non-judgmental space for your unique life experiences, true authentic self, and help guide you through life in a way that feels most comfortable

You’re juggling a lot. Classes, work, friends, family, money, maybe figuring out who you are and what you actually want from life. And somewhere in the middle of all that, your mental health is supposed to “keep up.” My practice is here for that in-between space—when things aren’t exactly falling apart, but they’re definitely not okay. I work with college students who are dealing with anxiety, overthinking, burnout, relationship stress, grief, and big life transitions. Together, we slow things down, sort through the noise, and build practical tools you can actually use in real life. Sessions are judgment-free, conversational, and tailored to you—no pressure to be “put together” or say the perfect thing. You can come as you are: exhausted, unsure, overwhelmed, or just curious about therapy. If you’re ready to feel a little less stuck and a little more like yourself again, you’re in the right place.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Dallas, TX

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I obtained both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Tyler. I have over 11 years of experience in nursing working in various fields and with a variety of patient populations. I have experience working with patients needing mental health services both inpatient and outpatient. I am dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with mental health concerns by increasing access to those needing mental health treatment while providing support, compassion, and understanding. I am here for the patient and want to ensure that all his or her needs are met. I have a passion for working in mental health services and genuinely care about each individual. I listen to his or her concerns and history to develop a diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan with the patient. The patients preferences and needs will lead the treatment approach initially and going forward. I include the patient in all aspects of care. Listening to his or her concerns, symptoms, and history is an important starting point in developing a diagnosis. The diagnosis is thoroughly discussed with the patient and I will answer any questions that present. Following the diagnosis, a plan of care is developed with the patients input. Patient preferences for therapy, medication, or both, are included in the treatment plan, and any referrals necessary will be made. Medication, if necessary and agreed upon, will be called in to the patients preferred pharmacy and any remaining questions or concerns will be addressed. A follow-up visit to assess ongoing effectiveness of the treatment plan will be made. At consecutive appointments, any necessary changes to the treatment plan will be made. However, I am available for concerns, questions, or needs that may arise prior to follow-up visits when needed.

Do you ever feel like your mind just won’t turn off—replaying conversations, worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet, and finding it impossible to relax? Many of the people I work with experience these same struggles. They often share that they feel exhausted, disconnected, and like their lives lack meaning as they work tirelessly to keep it together on the outside. Anxiety, depression, and trauma can quietly weave their way into our lives and, if left unchecked, can take control and lead us into a downward spiral. Let me help you lighten the weight of these burdens and begin healing together.
