Therapists for college students near Temple University
My therapeutic approach is humanistic and combines creative expression with elements of CBT, DBT, and ACT. While my specialization is in Art Therapy, I am also trained in traditional counseling, Sports Counseling, and Adoption Competency and will work with you to decide what will best support you and your treatment goals. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, and day-to-day life stressors and transitions, as well as children and adolescents living with chronic pain and illness. My other experience involves individual, group, and familial support in medical, residential, and educational settings. I aim to provide a calm, relaxing, and inviting environment.
Feeling burnt out, stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or having trouble adjusting or coping? If you are feeling any or all of the above and are looking for someone non-judgmental and empathetic, I would love to meet you for a consultation. Please note, there is some flexibility in my schedule, let me know if you need a time other than those listed. There are times in life where we all need someone to provide us support, encouragement, insight, and help us to look at things in a different perspective. The hardest step is often deciding to seek help, great job in already taking that step towards a happier and healthier you!
In working together, you will receive a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment to unpack your fears, concerns, and worries. I have worked in various settings with various populations; no need to be embarrassed, ashamed, or worried of anything you might share. I'm here with you through it all and will provide you with understanding, reassurance, and encouragement. My work with a wide range of clients, and my personal struggle with chronic health issues, gives me a special understanding for others who may be experiencing loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, fear, adjustment issues, and relationship challenges. I use a person-centered approach to counseling, with techniques drawn from CBT, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and existential theory. In listening to your story and gaining an understanding of your goals and values, I can help you problem-solve and create unique ways to help you navigate life’s challenges. If the idea of starting therapy is bringing up feelings of fear, anxiousness, or uncertainty, I challenge you to try thinking about it as an exciting opportunity to put the pieces of your life together, make sense of what isn’t working, and allow space for the best version of you to manifest. I am here for you.
Helping people feel more connected, alive and easeful in a difficult world is what excites me about the therapeutic process. While living with mental health challenges, it is difficult to know how to get unstuck or even to remember a time when things felt okay. I work collaboratively with clients to build on their strengths and identify goals that align with their values. We all develop strategies for survival that can be limiting over time. We can create more options that go beyond old strategies through practicing new ways of relating, recognizing nervous system patterns and strengthening the mind-body connection. Some of the approaches and techniques I use include parts work, attachment theory, mind-body therapy, guided visualization, somatic and movement based therapy. I am trauma focused and informed with an understanding of how systemic oppression contributes to illness, especially for those whose identities are devalued or erased.

We are dedicated to the continuous engagement--both professionally and personally--that this requires. I view therapy as a deeply collaborative and relational process. Together, we will work to develop a deeper understanding of your experiences, patterns, and emotions—helping you build insight, create meaningful change, and foster personal growth. By gaining greater self-awareness, you can begin to navigate internal and relational challenges, explore the connections between your past and present, and move toward a more intentional and fulfilling future. My approach integrates a range of therapeutic modalities, with a strong foundation in psychodynamic and relational therapy. I am also extensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which I use to support individuals in developing emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I strive to provide person-centered care within a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment. Our work together will center on understanding your experiences more fully and finding ways to respond to them with greater clarity and intention.
Supporting individuals, couples and families through life’s complex phases by providing a safe, compassionate space to explore their feelings and build resilience, using a grounded, present-focused approach to foster healing and growth. I maintain a special interest in supporting men through societal expectations that discourage emotional vulnerability, leaving many to cope silently with stress, isolation, or unresolved pain. Additionally, I have a passion for supporting children, adolescents and their families where they face mounting pressures from social media, academic demands, shifting family dynamics, and global uncertainty. Many struggle to make sense of their identity, emotions, and relationships in the midst of constant stimulation and comparison.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with college students, adults, and couples. I specialize in treatment for anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, and coping with life stressors. I am a cognitive-behavioral therapist and my goal is to help clients develop strategies to make meaningful change in their lives. I have extensive experience working with clients using short-term, evidence-based treatments. I also enjoy working with longer-term clients who want to focus on increasing self-awareness, identifying your values, and achieving personal growth. Therapy is a collaborative flexible process tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals. I use a strengths-based approach. I received my undergraduate degree from Brown University and my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Binghamton University (SUNY). I am a certified provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD and I have served as a consultant for the National Center for PTSD training program.
