Valerie believes that everyone should be given an opportunity and have someone listen to them regardless of age, race, status, circumstances, etc. This sets her apart from others because just simply listening and caring, can make someone feel validated and respected. This approach completely changes one’s day or perspective and that means the world to Valerie. We all struggle from time to time, whether it be feeling anxious or depressed, struggling with core issues, and traumas. Therapy should be a safe space to explore these issues and learn more about ourselves in the process. As a therapist Valerie focus on individuals, families, and child/adolescent therapy. Together we can explore core issues of trauma, mood disorders, suicidality, depression, anxiety, negative behaviors, addictive behaviors, grief and loss, stage of life change, emotional regulation, co-parenting, attachment, family structure, and other life transitions.

College can be rewarding, but it can also feel overwhelming. Whether you're adjusting to campus life, feeling stressed or burned out, struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, eating concerns, dissociation, low self-worth, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to navigate it alone. At Sacred Forest Counseling, I strive to provide an unconditionally accepting space where you can show up exactly as you are. My approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration. Together, we'll explore the challenges you're facing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels right for you. I also offer a unique nature-informed approach to counseling for students who find healing and clarity through connecting with nature. From my experience and current research from the EcoPsychology field, it can be said that healing often happens when we slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and draw wisdom from the natural world. Whether we meet outdoors or virtually, therapy is always tailored to your individual needs and goals. I have experience working with undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students and understand the unique pressures that can come with balancing academics, relationships, work, and personal well-being. Main ways of thinking that I lean towards are: compassion-focused, psychodynamic, attachment styles, and emotion-focused. I've been described by clients as having a positive unconditional regard, direct, and being able to challenge them to help take steps toward growth. I've also had my clients enjoy adding Brainspotting to their sessions! If you find yourself unable to turn your thoughts off, we can work on making your thoughts and emotions feel more manageable for you. Maybe right now grief, anxiety, or depression are really loud, and together to make them feel less intimidating. We can also work on communication skills, relationship patterns, setting boundaries (knowing when to say no or when to push yourself). I offer in-person or telehealth sessions on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. Mondays are only available for telehealth. I also for a free 15minute consultation. To schedule you can reach out by email, phone or click my Headway profile. Through my Headway profile you can also check right away if I take your insurance. I do provide a sliding scale for those paying out of pocket.
Our clinicians are trained in a variety of modalities. This allows us to tailor our approach to the needs of our clients. We all believe that the therapeutic relationship is paramount to the therapy experience and strive to provide a supportive environment to explore past experiences and address issues in the present.
Hi, I'm Jennifer. I help my clients feel like themselves again after trauma, specifically sexual trauma or relationship violence. You’ve tried to get past it, forget about it, told yourself it “wasn’t a big deal”, but you’re in pain. Maybe you notice feeling scared and mistrusting of others, having mood swings, or feeling down about yourself. Trauma can take many different forms, so often we don’t realize what we’ve gone through until we unpack it with someone safe. I can be that person for you.
I believe that everyone deserves the chance to flourish in life. Life throws us curveballs, often causing us to lose sight of who we are and what we need to feel worthy and successful. My main priority with clients is to create a safe space, free from judgment and criticism. I utilize a multitude of counseling theories in my work, but always practice from a client-centered foundation, in which I work to empower my clients to take an active role in their treatment. I believe there is value in collaboration, and I want to work together to navigate through the challenges that come up. Growing up as a competitive athlete, I experienced firsthand the impact that academic and athletic pressures can have on the body and mind. I played Division I soccer at the collegiate level, and therefore, have a speciality of working with athletes. I use my personal experiences with mental health to connect authentically with clients.
My name is Danielle Donovan and I'm so excited to begin this therapeutic journey with you! I currently work full-time as a School Counselor and I have eight years of experience working in the mental and behavioral health fields. I went to The Catholic University of America, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in psychology, and Holy Family University, where I obtained my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with a School Counseling concentration. Recently, I proudly accomplished obtaining my License as a Professional Counselor. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to empower individuals with whom I work to better understand their thinking patterns and to believe in their ability to overcome hardships and experiences relating to anxiety, anger, depression, trauma, life changes, ODD, ADHD, and Autism. Additionally, I enjoy implementing play therapy for children and adolescents to feel they can be honest and receptive in an approachable, engaging way.
Lighthouse Family Counseling serves children ages 6 years and up, adolescents, families, couples, adults, and seniors. Lighthouse accepts insurance. Lighthouse Family Counseling has a total of sixteen counselors, each ranging in experience. Many have licenses and more than 15 to 25 years in the field. We have a variety of counselors with a range of experiences and backgrounds. Our counselors vary in ages which is a benefit to the population that we serve. Every counselor brings their own unique background of expertise to the group; for example, trauma work, LGBTQ+ focused care, CBT, solution focused, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, DBT, men's issues, women's issues, etc. Our counselors work a hybrid model of office and telehealth, while a few counselors prefer telehealth only. Lighthouse Family Counseling is open by appointment only 7 days a week based on the counselor's availability, 9am to 8pm.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, sad, frustrated, confused, or anything in between - it can feel like you're not yourself anymore. Talking about it can help. I’m here to listen non-judgmentally and help you prioritize what’s most important to you. We will work together to find solutions that help you feel like yourself again! I am a graduate of the University of Scranton (B.S. in Counseling & Human Services and Philosophy) and Temple University (Master of Social Work). I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and can see clients virtually if they are located in PA or CT. Please feel free to message me or request an appointment if you would like to see if I am a good fit for you. I look forward to working with you!
When I retired from professional ballet, I attended Princeton University for my undergraduate studies. I started going to therapy and found it helped me participate more fully in my life and find more joy in my experience of college. My interest in mental health led me to study social work at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by sport psychology in Scotland, as a Fulbright scholar. I enjoy working with a variety of people, including athletes/artists/performers navigating transitions and retirement.
I do two things really well - listen and empathize. You and your story are unique. My job is to help you set goals and develop a plan to set the path for our work together. I strive to create a safe, inclusive space for open sharing and reflection. My role is not to judge or tell you what you should do. My role is to empower and support you to be your best self even if that sometimes means challenging you to promote change. I work with young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and/or general life stress. The world itself impacts how we move through it particularly for members of neurodivergent and BIPOC communities. I offer a 15 minute phone consult to see if we vibe.
I support students who are used to holding it together for everyone else—but privately struggle with anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, trauma, or feeling disconnected from themselves and others. You might overthink everything, avoid asking for help, or feel exhausted by the pressure to perform academically and socially. My practice offers a warm, steady space to slow down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and build real coping skills—not just quick fixes. I provide trauma-informed therapy using EMDR, partswork, art therapy, and somatic/body-based approaches that help you understand how stress and past experiences affect your body, emotions, and relationships so you can feel more grounded and confident. I accept funding through VCAP (Victim Compensation Assistance Program) which helps cover the cost of 6-12 months of therapy for sexual assault survivors in Pennsylvania (no need to have ever reported assault in order to be eligible to apply). I work with individuals of all ages who seek to improve their communication skills, stress management, self-esteem, life transitions, and symptoms related to mental health diagnoses. My ultimate goal is to empower you to grow more resilient and confident in your ability to manage life’s challenges. My ideal clients are courageous and curious to know themselves more deeply, motivated to take steps towards identifying what is helping and hindering them in living the life they want, and are open to learning and practicing new ways of tending to their relationships with self and others- and dusting off old ones too! My approach is tailored to each individual's unique needs, incorporating aspects from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy to create a strength's based environment. I focus on cultivating awareness and insight into the thought and behavior patterns that impact your daily functioning. I want therapy to be what you need it to be- my hope is that we are able to spend our time being present, focusing on any of life’s challenges, changes, or celebrations you'd like to discuss. Building a trusting relationship is key, and I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic space where you can openly express your thoughts and feelings.
