We all experience times of change, transition, and stress that can affect mood and anxiety. I offer an active, collaborative working relationship grounded in respect, transparency, and a deep desire to help clients heal and grow. Clients have remarked that I am particularly skilled in helping them navigate and grow through life transitions and take responsibility for and develop ways of coping and responding to life stresses that honor their multiple and intersecting identities and values, while also encouraging them to stretch, consider, and apply new perspectives and skills. I have over 25 years of experience as a therapist in a university counseling center and have extensive experience with undergraduate and graduate students. I am committed to helping people create and sustain a satisfying and purposeful life. With the intention of helping them move toward a greater sense of overall well-being, I enjoy working with clients around life transitions, career exploration, identity exploration, managing societally induced stress particularly related to marginalized identities, and those experiencing concerns related to career and work. I have extensive training and experience with mindfulness and integrate that into my therapeutic work. Beyond therapy, I provide Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction courses and mindfulness-based classes for groups. Please contact me to schedule a free, 15-minute phone conversation so we can talk more about what he's looking for, I can explain more about my practice, and we can see if it mutually feels like a good fit to take the next step and schedule an initial meeting.

What does therapy mean to you? What makes it so beneficial? How many thoughts, feelings, expectations, questions are you noticing as you take the first step in finding the “right” therapist? You are not alone. Therapy is a collaborative relationship in which I cultivate an open and non-judgmental atmosphere to equip you in facilitating change, fostering vulnerability, and promoting a rich and meaningful life. Let's tackle the "what will people say." My goal is to help you become the best version of you through managing your emotions and living a values driven life. I am a South Asian Licensed Professional Counselor, Level 2 Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional who practices a holistic, strengths-based, and integrative approach. I utilize different treatment modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic/Mindfulness approaches, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) while individualizing interventions based on identity and cultural backgrounds. As a relational, attachment-based therapist, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a powerful vehicle for change. As a systemic therapist, I also believe that the systems you’re part of matter, and that your experience can’t be understood outside of those systems. You may have had the experience of “getting” something on a logical level, yet finding that knowledge to be inadequate or insufficient. I believe real change has to be felt, not just rationalized. So I focus on creating a relationship where it’s safe to take relational risks and have new experiences that create change on a deeper level. Within the relationship, the work can take many forms. We may start by looking into your past, as I believe the past is important in understanding the present, and that it’s useful for helping you understand your attachment style and relational patterns. And if you’re one of the many neurodivergent people who have experienced trauma, we can draw on Internal Family Systems/parts work and Emotion-Focused Therapy to help heal your younger self. My goal is to always meet you where you are, and sometimes that might mean taking a more practical, skills-based approach. This could mean developing strategies to manage overwhelm, big emotions, and struggles with organization, time-blindness and prioritization. For example, you may be feeling like you know what you need to do yet still can’t get it done. Here I also draw on my background as an ADHD coach, and use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems to help you understand the emotions that may be getting in your way, see the different parts that create internal conflicts for you, and change how you relate to these parts.

College is full of transitions, like moving away from home and support systems, navigating relationships while balancing academic stress, and entering the professional world after graduation. These transitions can be exciting, but also daunting and overwhelming! So whether you are just starting to explore ways to improve your mental wellbeing or have been struggling for many years, you don't have to navigate it alone. My approach to therapy is always rooted in empathy, compassion, and a genuine curiosity about your unique experiences. We will work together using evidence-based practices to strengthen coping skills for the symptoms you most wish to address. Once these symptoms feel more manageable, we can then identify treatment goals that are built around understanding the impact of your past experiences, current obstacles, and hopes for the future (even if you don't know what those are yet!). I have provided individual therapy for seven years, and am especially passionate about helping those with neurodivergence (whether formally diagnosed or not) make sense of historical struggles through a non-judgmental, self-compassionate lens. Everyone can benefit from having a safe and supportive space to tackle symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, life stressors, self-esteem issues, or any other mental health difficulties. I welcome an opportunity to speak with you about your therapy goals and to see if we are a good fit, so please reach out to me via email, or phone (texts are okay too)!

When I retired from professional ballet, I attended Princeton University for my undergraduate studies. I started going to therapy and found it helped me participate more fully in my life and find more joy in my experience of college. My interest in mental health led me to study social work at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by sport psychology in Scotland, as a Fulbright scholar. I enjoy working with a variety of people, including athletes/artists/performers navigating transitions and retirement.

"Why now?" is a question I often ask at the beginning of therapy. Some people come in the aftermath of a personal or relationship crisis, some seek relief for old pain, others simply feel certain that its time for a change. My work is well-suited for people experiencing anger, grief, compassion fatigue, trauma reactivity, anxiety, depression, patterns of conflict and concerns of purpose and identity. I'm not overwhelmed by strong feelings or complex struggles. Whatever reason you may have to begin therapy, we'll work together to find the heart of the matter and what might help. My process is insight-oriented and collaborative but I'll tell you what I think. Clients have appreciated my warmth, directness and cultural competency. Some have stayed with me for years or returned after long breaks. I've had success connecting with adolescents and people who feel ambivalent about therapy. I'm deeply curious about how each of my clients experiences the world and I'll be glad to meet you. Reach out, and we can see if we might work well together.

Reaching out for support takes courage. I’m glad you’re here, and you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. We’ll create a space that feels grounded and genuine. My goal is for you to feel seen, heard, and a bit more hopeful about the path ahead. Hi! I’m Mattie. I earned my master’s degree in clinical counseling and psychology from Eastern University in 2018. I am skilled in treating trauma, substance use disorder, grief and loss, personality, and mood disorders. I use evidence-based practices like CBT and DBT. As a licensed counselor, I am dedicated to personalized care and helping clients improve their quality of life. I see therapy as a space where you can exhale—a place to be real without judgment. My goal is to understand your story and help you build tools that fit your life. Using CBT and DBT, we’ll work together to find healing, balance, and connection. In our first session, you can expect a calm, supportive space to simply be yourself. We’ll talk about what brings you here and what you hope to gain, moving at a pace that feels right for you.

Hi! I’m Dr. Ana, a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania with over 10 years of experience helping children, teens, and adults navigate life’s challenges with support, compassion, and practical tools. I currently offer virtual therapy sessions throughout PA and am accepting new clients. Life often moves quickly, bringing highs and lows and everything in between. In the midst of the “busy-ness” and challenges, it can often be hard to pause and take care of ourselves. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and deepen our understanding of who we are so that we can live with more meaning and purpose. I truly believe that therapy can be helpful for anyone. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, empowered, and less alone. You don’t have to go through this alone. I’d be honored to support you on your journey. Feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule a consultation!

I believe we all have the potential to live a life that brings us joy and satisfaction. I believe we all have an inner strength that allows us to change and grow, no matter how adverse the circumstances that brought us here. A therapeutic relationship based on trust, honesty, and non-judgment can bring that strength to its rightful place in our lives. I take a holistic and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I recognize that there are generational, environmental, social, political, and cultural factors that impact our day-to-day lives and decisions and believe it's important to consider these factors when learning about my clients and their experiences. When we begin to understand ourselves and our ways of thinking and acting as a part of a larger whole, we can begin to improve the quality of our lives and our relationships, especially our relationship to the self. I help clients create real change through cultivating insight around their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the context of their life, relationships, and the world around them. I also help clients develop healthier, more effective coping skills. Together, we'll work to deepen your self awareness and build on what is good, strong, and true about yourself.
