Therapists for college students near 97203
Hi, I’m Hailey Clark, and I’m glad you’re here. I work best with students who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves—often while trying to look “fine” on the outside. Many of the clients I support are navigating eating disorders or difficult relationships with food, body image, control, and self-worth. I’m a Certified EMDRIA Therapist, and I use EMDR along with a steady, practical approach to help you work through what’s fueling the struggle—not just the symptoms. You don’t need the perfect words to start; we’ll meet exactly where you are and move at a pace that feels safe and doable. If you’re looking for a space that’s grounded, supportive, and focused on real change, I’d love to connect.
Tired of feeling nervous, scared or lost? Does anxiety keep your mind and body in constant turmoil, and unable to rest? Are you highly irritable and grouchy even when you don't want to be? Is fear interfering with making good decisions or getting what you need? Are you just barely coping and starting to feel desperate for new solutions? Well, anxiety, fear, sadness and stress affects us all. At one time or another in our lives, we all need a non-judgmental, authentic, caring, supportive person to help us regain our balance. I can be that person for you. I specialize in supporting folks impacted by past trauma, race based trauma, depression and anxiety. I focus on learning about your lived experience to be able to mirror it back in a way that allows you to see further inside and identify what is missing, what needs tweaked or sometimes simply what needs more care and attention. I offer neuroscience and attachment based strategies to support the growth that will bring your life back into balance and the core you in the driver’s seat. I provide virtual therapy, exclusively. Give me a call today! Because I’m only accepting referrals from partnering agencies like Thriving Campus, please leave a message regardless of what my outgoing message says. My goal is to help people see how the various pieces of their lives have shaped their responses, so that they can connect with self-compassion, gain insight around where they are getting stuck, and learn new beliefs and skills. H, I am Kelley - I have been in practice for the past 18 years and have 2 college age kids. I am licensed in Colorado, California and Oregon as these are the states I have lived in and still visit. I really struggled with my own mental health in college but back then therapy wasn't that common. There's a saying that therapist's become who they once needed - and that is definitely true. I offer a kind and compassionate ear, judgement free, collaborative approach - based in Brain Science. I want you create a place for you to be grounded and confident with what you bring to the world.

Gathered & Wise exists to provide excellent and experienced perinatal and maternal mental health care. We believe that a well-supported mother has a tremendous positive impact on her children and her community. We also believe women deserve wellness due to their own intrinsic worth; not based on what roles they hold, or what they can contribute to others. It is our hope and intention to create a warm environment where both clients and therapists feel respected, supported, and are given the tools they need to thrive.
I primarily support LGBTQIA+ and/or BIPOC adults who struggle with being their full, authentic selves navigate challenging systems and relationships. Clients often come to me worried that by making meaningful changes in their lives, they are being selfish. They might find themselves in work environments that are unsupportive, relationships they feel unfulfilled by, and friendships that seem unbalanced. It's a frustrating cycle, and they want their lives to be different, but are unsure how. After working with me, clients find themselves feeling more able to care for themselves, find joy in being with others, and feel more at peace with themselves. I approach therapy collaboratively and value humor, identity, and compassionate honesty in the therapeutic relationship. I also provide Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems treatment for trauma and provide letters for gender-affirming medical services. I know how frustrating it is to be unheard and unseen. I would love to help you explore how to better engage with yourself and others to become more authentically you. I have a social justice orientation and am affirming of all genders, sexualities, body sizes, and differing relationship structures. If any of the above spoke to you, let's chat!

Driven by a deep-seated commitment to fostering healing and resilience, I embody compassion, versatility, and a relentless dedication to supporting all of my clients on their path to wellness. I offer therapy that's largely integrative, pulling from several different theories and adapting my approach to best fit the identities, needs, and style of each client. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment in which my clients can feel both supported and challenged. Having a space to share vulnerably and work on personal growth and healing is a great opportunity, but it's also very hard work! Since I ask my clients to show up vulnerably, I try to do the same, bringing my authentic self to the room. I look forward to conversations about how our similarities and differences impact our work. I frequently work with survivors of trauma, provide letters of support for gender affirming healthcare, discuss neurodiversity, and help clients explore their sexual and/or gender identity. I have specialized training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, as well as disordered eating and body image concerns. I work from a non-dieting, health at every size paradigm. I view therapy as a collaborative process, one that depends largely on the relationship built between client and therapist. I offer free, brief phone consultations to discuss goodness of fit and answer any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!
Having trained at the University of Notre Dame (Ph.D., M.A.), UC Berkeley (APA-accredited internship) and Stanford (post-doctoral fellowship), I bring rigorous scientific expertise into my clinical work with college students. In fact, I worked at the University Counseling Centers at all three of these schools and have continued to develop a specialized private practice that focuses almost exclusively on college students. I also teach for Pepperdine University in their Graduate School of Education & Psychology. I help clients with a range of concerns including: anxiety, depression, career and academic concerns, ADHD, relationship concerns (situationships, am I right? :) ), body image and eating disorders, perfectionism, college/life transitions, as well as family of origin challenges (let's say it together, boundaries...). I often work with high-achieving students who often are managing academically but struggling internally. My clients often put others first and themselves last. By the time they come to therapy, concerns have been going on for some time and they've reached a breaking point. They may feel they "should" be able to handle things on their own. As a recovering perfectionist and someone who was riddled with anxiety throughout college, I get it. It wasn't until my own training in CBT that I learned how destructive such thought patterns were. It inspired my clinical approach, as well as three clinical workbooks I've published on Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, and Positive Psychology with the top mental health publishers. Many of my clients who have been to therapy before often remark how "easy" I make the process. We laugh, we learn, and talk like old friends. Therapy doesn't have to be stuffy or stressful. It's about feeling respected, validated and heard. Learning to take care of yourself, set appropriate boundaries, and thrive! I'd LOVE to work with you! Please feel free to book a complimentary 15 minute consultation at my website below so we can connect!
Welcome to my practice. College is a massive transition-- a time of building new independence, finding where you belong, and figuring out who you are going to become. It can also feel overwhelming, lonely, and stressful. I am a licensed clinical psychologist here to help you with it all. My practice centers on Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). This is a collaborative, real-world approach focused on your relationships and daily life. Together, we will look at how your connections-- with roommates, family, partners, or professors-- impact how you feel, and work on communication tools to help you set boundaries, resolve conflicts, and feel heard. Outside of my clinical work, I serve as a board member for Rose Children's Theatre. That background means I deeply value creativity, authentic expression, and the power of storytelling. I know that life can sometimes feel like a performance where you are forced to play a role that doesn't fit. In our sessions, there is no script and no audience. It is a completely authentic, judgment-free place to explore your thoughts and build self-confidence. Whether you are dealing with burnout, relationship drama, identity questions, or deeper questions of meaning, you don't have to figure it out alone. Let's work together to write your next chapter.

I offer Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) informed and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other third wave behavior therapy modalities. I am currently DBT-LBC Certified, a IBCCES Certified Autism Specialist
Fundamentally, I believe we as humans all strive to do the best we can. We all possess the desire to thrive. Our individual internal strengths contribute to our natural resiliency, helping us navigate through life’s challenges. At times, an individual’s journey endures obstacles that are not easily tackled alone. Being human and juggling life’s difficulties can be challenging. Needing guidance to learn new skills and support to foster your strengths is okay. I enjoy supporting and guiding children, teens and families in exploring their needs and identifying strategies to help improve their overall well-being. I will come alongside you, working to grow strength and resiliency, one step at a time.
Life can be overwhelming and bring challenges that seem bigger than ourselves. This can lead us down rocky terrain. If you find yourself exhausted, unmotivated, anxious, depressed, feeling helpless or hopeless, know that it is okay to seek help. You can change your path. As a therapist it is my goal to meet my clients where they are on their path, to assist them in learning how to access their inner strengths, to practice self-compassion, and learn to overcome harmful narratives developed from past traumas. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them achieve their goals and live a more fulfilled life. Change can be uncomfortable but with a strong therapeutic relationship and support it can feel more manageable, empowering, and exciting. The core of my practice is a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, self compassion work, and mindfulness. I am also a registered art therapist allowing for therapeutic exploration through art for clients who are interested.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, so take a moment to acknowledge that you have come this far in recognizing therapy may be a helpful approach for you. Therapy requires self-reflection, an open heart, and a curious mind into learning about ourselves and the way in which we interact with the world and those around us. Although it may be daunting, it is incredibly rewarding to unpack and understand what is getting in the way of happiness, growth, intimacy, and self-compassion. My purpose as a therapist is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore the deep rooted issues and patterns that make them feel "stuck". I support clients with strategies pulled from EMDR, mindfulness, yoga, and other person-centered approaches.
Therapy is a journey of healing, growth, self discovery and so much more. Each person brings with them a different story and unique perspective, which gives us the opportunity to meet you where you are in that moment, with empathy and support. At Steps to Change, LLC we frequently work with people around life transitions, neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, gender and sexuality, acute and chronic trauma issues, self empowerment, parenting, chronic illness (invisible and visible) as well as grief and loss. We enjoy working with individuals in a welcoming space that is created together through the therapeutic relationship. We believe the role of the therapist is to be there as a guide in the process of helping you trust your inner self more and assist in learning new coping strategies to better manage the adversities in life. All services are via Tele-Health, which gives the Client the comfort of their items and space during the sessions, often helping to feel more secure. Please email to schedule an appointment as written communication works best. Hours of availability are Monday-Wednesday with no evening availability. Our hope is that we are able to work together towards reaching your goals and creating change through interpersonal growth.
