Female-first psychiatric care. If you’re navigating a new season of life—trying to conceive, pregnancy, or perimenopause—or looking for support with treatment of a specific condition such as PMS or PMDD, PCOS, ADHD, depression, or anxiety, I want to offer you the expertise, compassion, and genuine care you deserve. I am a Harvard-trained and board-certified psychiatrist specializing in women's mental health and reproductive psychiatry. I take a conservative approach to medication, taking the time to listen to you and help you make empowered decisions about your mental health. I provide medication management and psychotherapy through a female-first frame: putting you, your needs, and your wellness at the forefront of our work together. I view my work as an opportunity to help women feel seen and supported through the most transformative stages of their lives. My patients’ unique needs are at the forefront of my practice: hearing them when others have not listened, acknowledging their challenges when others have downplayed them, and empowering them to take control of their health, wellness, future, and family. I’m a social worker with nearly 20 years of experience helping people navigate life’s challenges with more clarity and confidence. I work especially well with young adults facing stress, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, neurodivergence, and the pressure to “figure it all out.” Therapy with me is real, practical, and judgment-free. It’s a space to slow down, feel understood, and build tools you can actually use in everyday life. You’re not broken — just human. And you don’t have to sort it out alone.
"We are committed to patient care through psycho education, treatment, and relapse prevention. We guide our patients every step of the way and implement various methods to help them develop new coping skills and attitudes towards all of life’s most complex matters."
Do you sometimes feel as though you are an actor, playing a role in public, but living very differently in private? Do you engage in behaviors that you might not be totally proud to reveal? Maybe its getting high, or gaming, or gambling or porn. To me, it doesn't really matter. and it doesn't really matter whether these actions are seen by others as "good" or "bad." My concern is you. If you are engaging in behaviors that you feel ashamed of, that you have tried to cut down or cut out but couldn't, then I want to help. We can work together to identify what is helpful and what is not, see where these behaviors fit into your life and make adjustments as needed. This is how I live my personal and professional life and I hope to be able to be of service to you. I look forward to speaking with you.

Life is hard. For many of us, we often become overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, loneliness, uncertainty, fear, you name it. To make things worse, we experience trauma and discover that some of our deepest wounds come from our relationships. Of course, we want to protect ourselves from relationships, change, and the unknown. I get that. From working in schools, residential facility, and private practice setting, I've learned that there is also something inside each of us that yearns for healing, loving connection, and pure joy. So, what is getting in the way? Let's explore that together. I have a non-judgmental and compassionate approach when providing counseling for individuals. What that means is I relate to you as another imperfect human being who understands the impact of trauma, life transitions, stress, anxiety and several other factors that affect our day-to-day lives. I will offer you a space to freely explore your struggles and opportunities for healing. Let’s be real, we don’t know each other and it’s going to feel weird at first to share your story with me. I thank you for even considering. Sometimes the hardest step is the first one. I recognize and respect that. Whenever you’re ready, I am ready to join you. You don't have to figure it out on your own.

There are things that you have to deal with that are too difficult to take on by yourself. Unfortunately, it is not always clear which direction to take- you need someone to bounce ideas off of, someone who is objective and has the experience to help you find your way. I believe that you have the tools you need to make the changes that you need to make. My role as therapist is to help you find those tools within yourself and to learn trust yourself enough to use them. I have worked with clients who are dealing with adjustment, life-stage transitions, identity issues and family problems. Many of my clients seek therapy for relationship issues and when struggling with grief, depression or anxiety.

Many of the people I work with are Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) who are struggling to navigate multiple areas of their life like work, school, family, relationships, or the intersectionalities of their identities. Many talk about often feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or stuck. This then kicks off to what feels like a never ending cycle of confusion, frustration, depression, and anxiety. Therapy is an opportunity to find clarity and work through these obstacles to help people get their life back on track. My clients and I work together to develop more mindful behaviors to help lead a more meaningful and healthy life. People develop certain attitudes and perspectives based on their early life experiences to survive when they were younger. But these attitudes and perspectives are not helping now which is part of the reason why people might feel stuck. By looking at these attitudes and perspectives closely, people can learn to change how they talk to themselves, how they react to their emotions. and take more thoughtful actions to move forward towards a more authentic and fulfilling life. My practice integrates several evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) that encompasses principles of person-centered, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, multiculturalism, and strength-based values. With my compassionate, collaborative, non-judgmental, and down-to-earth style, therapy can address the things that are getting in the way of people’s life so that they can move forward. COMMON EXPERIENCES THAT I WORK WITH PEOPLE ON: - It feels like your mind is playing tricks on you - It feels like your eyes or ears are playing tricks on you - It feels like something odd is going on or hard to explain - Confused at times whether something is real or imaginary - You feel suspicious or mistrustful of others - It feels like you have little control over your thoughts - It feels like others can hear your thoughts or read your mind - Having thoughts or beliefs that you or others find strange - Race-related identity, culture, and intersectionality - Cultural and systemic trauma and oppression
