At times the stressors in life can be crushing and prevent us from achieving our goals, or even forming goals. Each person defines stress in unique terms that can produce anxiety; related to striving for perfection, or feeling alone, or persistent unhappiness with our appearance, or fearful, or overwhelmed by responsibilities. Sometimes one specific event can alter our lives forever; the loss of a loved one, sexual assault/abuse and rape, becoming the victim of violence and witnessing violence. My practice is centered on the belief that difficulties in our lives can be mended and lead to stronger well-being. I support young people to manage stressors by building a safe therapeutic relationship to do the hard work of alleviating hurt and changing the way we manage the barriers to success.

Whatever you're struggling with, I'm not here to save or cure you. What I can offer is support, companionship, guidance, and practical tips as you engage the simple and difficult process of dressing wounds, remembering how to draw in nourishment, and reorienting toward your own ‘true north.’ The long-term goal of this work is not to help you become more 'well-adjusted,' but more fully yourself in a world that often makes that difficult. It may be hard to hear, but that deep-in-your-bones longing really matters. You may have forgotten it, ridiculed it, buried it for any number of very sensible reasons; but I assure you it is waiting patiently for your return. That longing, that certain something that you can't seem to find anywhere? That is yours to grow into. And I would propose that that becoming, that filling in of the larger You, is essential not only to your own sanity, but to the health of all Life. In that spirit I may challenge you to look at the ways that you are evading the responsibility of becoming. But believe me, I evade too. I will regard you with tenderness and understanding even as I ask you to do the terrifying – trust yourself a little more. Fill your form. I hold a master's degree in mindfulness-based transpersonal clinical mental health counseling from Naropa University, and am licensed to practice professional counseling in New York and Colorado.

In addition to my private practice, I work as a Behavioral Health Clinician in the Emergency Room at Main Line Health System, providing psychiatric crisis assessments and support to individuals and families during some of their most vulnerable moments. As students or professionals, it is more common than we recognize to be depleted by our daily routine, school or family; to experience self doubt, become overwhelmed or to live with ongoing stress/trauma. Without an opportunity for mental restoration we can become burnt out or disconnected by persistent feelings of depression, anxiety, frustration, apathy, grief or even chronic pain and illness. My aim for each client is to help you develop a greater sense of self-awareness, balance and control over your life. Even if you aren't quite sure of what it is you need - we'll figure it out together. I use a mixture of mixture of traditional therapeutic approaches and Nature Based Therapy (NBT), done either outdoors or in combination with telehealth. This could look as simple as a walk in a park or with more, immersive sensory experiences in nature to get your body in motion and feeling more alive. The ultimate goal is to reduce stress and increase your social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
