Therapists for college students near 27707
If you feel like you’re feeling the pressure of what’s next, stop scrolling because trust…you’re in the right place. College is supposed to be an exciting experience but for a lot of students, it feels like: • “I’m behind.” • “Everyone else has it figured out.” • “I’m stressed all the time.” • “I don’t even know what I’m doing here.” If that’s you, I can assure that you’re not broken. You have reached your emotional capacity, feel overwhelmed, and you don’t have to carry that alone. At ThrivePath, we help students slow down, feel safer in their own bodies and minds, and learn how to move through life from alignment, not survival mode. This is therapy and support that feels: ✨ supportive ✨ honest ✨ culturally-aware ✨ and actually helpful No “fix yourself” energy here. At ThrivePath, our energy reads more like “let’s figure this out together.”
Mental health affects our relationships, and our relationships affect mental health. The quality of our social connections is the greatest predictor of well-being, which is why helping clients build healthy relationships of all kinds and heal from past relationship trauma are my counseling passions! My additional areas of specialty include anxiety, burnout, mood disorders, and substance use disorders – whether it’s you or a loved one who is struggling. In our sessions, we'll foster deep self-understanding and self-compassion, deconstruct patterns that no longer serve you or align with your values, and work collaboratively to create meaningful, long-lasting change. I offer individual, couple, and adult family therapy sessions. While my approach is unique for every client, I always use a strengths-based, encouraging, empathetic, and nonjudgmental lens. Skills training in emotion regulation, coping, communication, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, stress management, and mindfulness are integral to my work. Clients' holistic wellness is a top priority in my therapeutic process. Together, we'll analyze your overall well-being, including emotional, social, physical, and even professional, then create specific goals to get you on the path to balance and fulfillment. If it sounds like I'd be a helpful addition to your healing journey, reach out to schedule with me!

Hi I'm Alison Cross! I am a psychotherapist, and I provide both in person and virtual services in Georgia and North Carolina. It’s important to have an idea of what feels like the right fit when you’re looking for a qualified person to talk to. The problem is, how do you know? So here's what it looks like with me. When my client leaves our session, my goal is for them to feel heard and respected. I want my clients to feel like they’re talking to a real person. How else can trust be built? My style has been described as 'down to earth, gentle, and encouraging.' I also have a great sense of humor that comes in only when appropriate. I view therapy as a safety net for the various issues clients bring. I will collaborate with you from the very first session on goals for your time. Some people I work with prefer to set the agenda for our time together, with just a few interjections from me. Understanding the big picture and getting to the heart of the matter are things I'm good at. I have also completed the Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems and Level 1 training in the Embodied Reocvery Model. I love using these models because they are beautifully client focused. My goal is to develop a positive therapeutic relationship with you. When that happens, hope is tangible and the spirit opens to new life and new beginnings. All sessions with me will be virtual unless I'm in Atlanta and we can coordinate an in person session.

Anxiety, depression, and overwhelming feelings can weigh you down. Quite frankly, it can feel like a real B-Word sometimes! I hear you. Hello, I am Alexann Masiko-Meyer, I am an eclectic counselor that would be filled with gratitude to support you. I am an LCMHC (Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor) providing services in North Carolina, New Jersey, Canada, England, United Arab Emirates, Japan, China, New Zealand.... and growing Lets get back to living life unapologetically! SPECIALTIES Stress, Anxiety Depression Self esteem Adjustments / Life Changes Military Transitions Teens & Young Adults I also have experience in LGBTQ, Relationship issues, Trauma and abuse, Grief, Anger management, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes Years of Experience: 5 I expect nothing less than being held to professional standards. However, in full disclosure, I don't take myself too seriously, and I wholeheartedly feel that being a bit goofy, and being quirky, and maybe a bid different is okay! Many times, it is more than ok, and what makes us more of an individual, helps on the journey to wellness, being unapologetically yourself, putting a laugh out there to the universe and finding the good things in life along the way. Humor and levity may be evident and incorporated into the therapeutic process. I feel that everyone should have the ability to access mental wellness support and counseling. As a military spouse, and moving all over the country for 18 years, allthewhile working in the helping profession, I have grown to recognize the cultural apprehension, inability to access and equity issues that surround access to counseling. Summer Sessions Counseling is founded on the belief that mental wellness support should be accessible by everyone without stigma, physical access and transportation barriers, without requiring a diagnosis, to access one's best self. What is therapy like? What can I expect from my first session? The first session is typically a review of information you supplied on your intake form and address concerns that you may have. As you progress in your therapeutic journey, you will get into the real nitty gritty, strategies & processing activities, psychotherapy, counseling activities, art therapy, journaling and carving a new path to your ultimate goal.
Life can be tough sometimes. We all, at some point, need that extra help to find a new perspective, sort through the chaos, and reach our true potential. I’m glad you’re considering taking this journey with me. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Wilmington, NC. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from ECU (Greenville, NC) and a master’s degree in Counseling from AGTS (Springfield, MO). I love helping people and use a variety of techniques catered to the individual. My approach is usually very straightforward but compassionate. I enjoy working with college students and am a passionate supporter/ally of the LGBTQ+ community. My experience includes a wide range, but I most enjoy working with people with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and problems adjusting to life changes (such as moving out, empty nest, loss of loved one, new career, etc). Finding the ‘right fit’ in a therapist is truly important, so please let me know if you’d like to set up an initial consultation or appointment, or simply contact me with any questions you may have. I try to be available to my clients when needed, and the best way to reach me is by texting my office number. I hope to meet you soon!
College is hard! I remember how hard it was in so many ways. I'm honored to be a support to you through this important time in your life. I specialize in anxiety. I also work on post-trauma growth for those with a history of trauma. My approach is both "bottom up" (focusing on how your body/biology is responding to stress) and "top down" (working with your thoughts and mind to better manage the way you are feeling/thinking). I am heavily influenced by my studies in mindfulness meditation and bring that approach into our work. I have a strong interest in neuroscience as well as spirituality. I like to say that my goal as a helper is not to “make you better” but to help you discover that which makes you feel more alive. Your true nature is one of wholeness, contentment, and compassion; let's get you back there.
I am constantly inspired by people who have the strength, courage, and motivation to open themselves to a shift in perspective. Those who take a fresh look at the things impacting their lives. My role is to listen, empathize, challenge, and offer suggestions or alternatives to help you build a more robust set of tools to assist in your journey. Through this collaborative process, we will navigate those obstacles together. Sometimes having someone in your corner to help open new doors can make all the difference.

Hello. I think the most important element of a successful client / therapist relationship is one of safety. A place where you can say and talk about things you may never have said before. I believe that because having experienced that myself is what lead me to this field as well. As a college student you are entering one of the most exciting and yet unfamiliar times of your life. There are so many opportunities yet with that comes potential obstacles. This is the time in your life where you truly begin to explore and define who you are. Your are faced with many choices that either bring you closer to your goal or move you away from it. Technology puts so much at our fingertips and sometimes that can be a obstacle in itself. Many of the very things that you enjoy about college life can become compulsive or even addictive. Think alcohol, drugs, pornography, and sex to name a few.
