Lindsey is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA License #A20671) in North Carolina as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC Certification #1735054). She received two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Spanish Language and Literature in 2020 followed by a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2024. Currently, Lindsey is actively pursuing credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). At the heart of Lindsey's work is a deep belief in the inherent worth, dignity, and potential of every person. She approaches therapy with the understanding that healing begins in spaces where people are truly seen, witnessed, heard, and valued. Her practice is rooted in a person-centered philosophy that honors each individual's unique story, inner wisdom, and capacity for growth. Guided by principles of trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and social justice, she acknowledges the complex intersections of identity, culture, and systemic factors in mental health. Lindsey's areas of focus include trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, religious trauma/church hurt, women’s issues, self-esteem, body image, identity, life transitions, and relational conflict. She tailors her therapeutic approach to each client’s individual needs and goals, integrating elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Expressive Arts Therapy when supportive to the healing process. When working with children, Lindsey uses a Child-centered Play Therapy (CCPT) approach, creating a safe and supportive environment through which children can fully express themselves through play—their natural language. She respects and trusts in each child’s inner ability to grow and heal, and honors their pace, choices, and unique ways of making sense of the world. Outside of the counseling room, Lindsey enjoys spending time with family, entertaining her two cats, playing board games, building lego, bird-watching, reading a good book, doing something crafty, or grabbing a cup of coffee with friends. Lindsey recognizes the courage it takes to begin counseling and would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.

Hi, I’m Amy (she/her). I work with people navigating life transitions, relationship stress, grief, self-esteem challenges, identity exploration, anxiety, and depression. If you’re here, I imagine you might be experiencing some of this yourself—perhaps feeling isolated, longing to make sense of what you’re going through. Together, we’ll uncover patterns and create clarity so you can better understand yourself and your needs. I'm committed to honoring your unique way of being in the world, supporting you as you reconnect with your inner wisdom and pursue meaningful change. I take a person-centered approach to counseling, which means that I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental therapeutic space. I also integrate Expressive Arts therapy techniques when clinically appropriate, including visual art, writing, mindfulness, and body-integrated approaches. I'm an LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity affirming counselor. I know how vulnerable it can be to let someone into your healing process, to trust that your experiences will be held with compassion and care. As someone who has walked my own healing path, I deeply understand this. Please reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to connect and learn more about how we might work together.

Hi, I’m Dale Karl, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina with more than 20 years of experience helping adults work through anxiety, stress, relationship struggles, self-esteem issues, and concerns around food and body image, including emotional eating, binge eating, and bulimia. I proudly affirm and support clients of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultural backgrounds. College and young adulthood can feel overwhelming at times. You may be dealing with pressure to succeed, overthinking, relationship stress, loneliness, burnout, uncertainty about the future, or feeling like you’re not fully yourself anymore. Even people who seem like they’re “doing fine” on the outside can feel anxious, exhausted, or disconnected internally. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. Therapy is a space where you can talk openly without fear of judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on beneath the surface, better understand the patterns keeping you stuck, and find practical ways to help life feel more manageable and balanced. Therapy is not about being “broken.” It’s about gaining insight, learning healthier ways of coping, and building a stronger relationship with yourself. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, lost, emotionally drained, or simply unsure where to start, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Most of us need help, at one time or another in our lives, and asking for help is not always easy. However, it is important to realize our own limitations and allow yourself to feel better. Mental health is a vital part of overall well-being, and its impact on our life should not be underestimated. I create a safe and secure therapeutic environment and work hard to treat everyone with respect.
Sometimes this world is not the easiest place to live as we do not have control over every circumstance. We do, however, have control over how we respond to life situations we encounter. As humans, controlling our behaviors, our thoughts, our feelings can be a struggle at times. Therapy is a safe place to process, to learn, to grow so that we can react more effectively to life circumstances and to gain more control. College students are about adjusting into adulthood, finding independence, and developing a sense of self and directions. This is the time to utilize therapy to assist in the development of who you want to become. Trauma, mood disorders, relationship problems, anxiety, are many areas that college students suffer from due to past experiences or experiences encountered in college. Take the time to resolve and manage your mental health so that you can be the best version of you!

Welcome to Saltmarsh Counseling! As a native of the area and lover of the everything coastal, I relate therapy to the salt marsh. Many are not aware of the essential role the salt marsh plays and the wealth of benefits it provides. A few important attributes include maintaining healthy water quality and reducing pollution by acting as a filter, protecting us from flooding and erosion by creating a buffer to protect from storm surge, and providing a nursery and safe haven for commercial and recreational fisheries. Like the salt marsh, therapy acts as a filter for individuals working through the challenging aspects of mental illness, relationships, and life transitions. The therapeutic setting provides a safe space to be vulnerable, to learn healthy coping skills, to gain self-awareness, and to evolve as a person.
Life can be tough and there is so much that isn't under our control. I specialize in the treatment of OCD and other anxiety disorders and treat depression, trauma and adjustment issues. I utilize a collaborative person-centered perspective that recognizes your expertise in your life. I will work with you to develop a plan including exposure (ERP), mindfulness, cognitive and behavioral (CBT) and other techniques to achieve your therapy goals.
Join me in learning the tools and skills to intentionally create the life that you desire. I work with clients who are looking to strengthen trust in themselves. My overarching goal for every client who comes to see me is for them to have a more loving, compassionate relationship to themselves, others, and their past. I use a holistic collaborative approach to counseling that recognizes our unique multidimensional nature, and honors the connection between mind, emotions, energy, and body. Birdie, my office puppy, is a gentle presence who offers passive emotional support to clients who enjoy animal companionship. I work with adults, college students, teens, adolescents, couples, and families, to: 1. Identify harmful thought and behavior patterns, 2. Understand what's at the root of these patterns, 3. Cultivate tools and behaviors that encourage, rather than inhibit, growth. I offer compassionate, honest feedback, providing an outside lens that will allow you to see yourself more clearly. I believe everyone has the tools within them to heal and grow. You can reconnect with your authentic and confident self. Let's rekindle the spark within you and heal the past that is holding you back from the life you desire. I would be honored to assist you in opening up paths to trusting yourself and healing your past in your journey to wholeness.
