OFFERING VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS... Sometimes the roads we chose to traverse become less easy to navigate as situations change, circumstances reach beyond our control, or life simply needs some readjusting to get back on track. I strive to provide individual clients and couples with a vehicle to discover the answers that they seek about themselves and their relationships. I help clients learn the tools they need to navigate the road on their own, and find the healing that they desire. My goal as a therapist is to foster a genuine and welcoming environment that facilitates a safe space for clients to experience personal growth and positive change. I work with adults, college age students, and their families. I specialize in relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
I specialize in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy; these approaches are particularly suited for such issues as coping with loss, reducing self-criticism, increasing a sense of cohesion and self-worth following traumatogenic experiences, reconciling sources of conflict about the various identities that one inhabits, adjusting to transitions and changes, understanding and modifying personality factors that drive repeating relationship patterns/choices, and strengthening one’s relationship to creativity, interests and vitality. Often, I work with people whose prior therapy experience(s) was symptom-oriented or brief but who found themselves wondering if there is something more. I also often work with people navigating academia, such as graduate students and post-docs. I am particularly passionate about graduate student mental health and am aware of the unique stressors often faced by doctoral students, as well as the factors that make it more challenging to reach out for support. I am aware of the ways that concerns pertaining to identity, belonging and family of origin often begin to come to the fore when one finds themselves in a new environment and/or a new academic/professional endeavor.

These are just a few of the challenges I regularly help people navigate successfully! I work with men, couples, and creatives who are navigating many different forms of difficulty or distress. My integrative approach (Gestalt, Rogerian, Mind/Body, Existential, Strength-Based, Emotion-Focused, CBT) provides a toolbox that will enable us to tackle a variety of problems with effective interventions. My approach to therapy is active, flexible, goal-oriented, and collaborative. Ultimately, my role is to help you gain the skills, insights, and self-compassion to be your own therapist. I pay special attention to cultural and contextual factors that may be relevant to your concerns and treatment.
