Therapists for college students near Northeastern University
Having worked in both academic and corporate environments, my current work as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner has evolved from observing students’ and colleagues’ challenges and successes and their relationship to emotional health and ability to focus on daily and long-term goals. As a result of my Yale, Duke, Tufts and MGH psychiatric training, I’ve honed my observations into effective working theories about the biopsychosocial factors that influence peoples’ vitality and well-being. If you're currently struggling with academic, professional or emotional obstacles, I believe I can help. My practice involves the diagnosis and treatment of multiple mental health conditions including: ADHD, ANXIETY and DEPRESSION with a focus on compassionate, culturally sensitive, SUPPORTIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY and MEDICATION MANAGEMENT for adolescents and adults. If you’re struggling with a mental health condition and need help with medication management, or simply want assistance with improving your mental well-being, please contact me for a private consultation. Initial appointments last about an hour with follow-ups taking less time. If you’d like to discuss living a more balanced life, please give me a call.
I am a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Thoughtful Psychiatry, P.C. I provide psychotherapy and medication management for children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of stress related conditions. As therapist and prescriber, I try to pave the way for my clients to tell their stories and feel truly understood. I strive to provide a safe environment that allows for self-expression. While diagnosis can be helpful, I believe that each individual enters treatment with a unique set of circumstances, and that it is important to focus on the needs of each individual rather than focus only on his or her symptoms. I am interested in treating patients with all types of conditions, but have a special affinity for working with clients who suffer from anxiety and trauma-related conditions. Currently, I am accepting clients primarily for medication management. Clients seeking medication management should have a therapist in place.

The best mental health care occurs when the patient's needs are prioritized and deeply integrated into the treatment plan. Whether you're dealing with anxious thoughts, phobias, learning difficulties, physical symptoms tied to mental health, depression, grief, or feeling like a dark cloud is always blocking out your light, help is available. By creating a judgment-free environment that fosters safe and open communication, we’ll work together to carefully assess your or your loved one’s unique situation and develop the most effective care plan. I believe the key to addressing many unwanted feelings and behaviors lies in combining holistic and pharmacological approaches, including modifying one's environment, engaging in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and using medications to address chemical imbalances in the brain. As your provider, I will work diligently to create a personalized medication plan that alleviates your challenges while minimizing tolerable side effects. Additionally, using evidence-based measurement tools, we can track treatment effectiveness and make necessary adjustments along the way. I’ve had the privilege of working with students from all walks of life—PhD candidates at MIT, first-year undergraduates just beginning their college experience, and international students who have traveled across the world to study in the Boston area. I understand the unique mix of excitement, pressure, and expectation that comes with academic life, and I know that the right therapeutic support can make all the difference between simply getting through college and truly thriving in it. We don’t leave our pasts behind when we move onto campus. Sometimes, unresolved experiences or past trauma can create barriers to feeling fulfilled or confident in this new chapter. College is about much more than your major—it’s a time of self-discovery, growth, and learning how to navigate both independence and connection. Whether you’re seeking support for stress management, identity exploration, or processing painful experiences, I’m here to help you build insight, resilience, and a stronger sense of self as you move through this important stage of life.
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or moving through a major life transition, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I work with individuals who are ready to explore their inner world with curiosity and compassion, whether it’s your first time in therapy or you’re returning to it. My approach is warm, relational, and psychodynamic at its core, meaning we’ll look at how your past shapes the way you think, feel, and connect today. I also integrate practical tools from CBT and DBT to help manage anxiety, depression, and everyday stress, and use mindfulness to support grounding and emotional awareness. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse individuals as well as women experiencing anxiety and/or depression. Together, we’ll build a space for reflection, resilience, and meaningful change—at your pace, and with care.

Offering telehealth sessions! I believe we are all naturally inclined toward personal growth and success—each of us with our own strengths, desires, and goals that would lead us in the direction of contentment and happiness under optimal conditions. Problems arise because we don’t live in a perfect world, and in an effort to adapt, we sometimes develop strategies that make sense in the short term, but are not effective in moving us forward. We “get stuck,” leading to anxiety, frustration, and conflict, which leads in turn to us feeling bad about ourselves and our relationships. I view therapy as a collaboration between me and my clients, where we work together to understand the root causes of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that get in the way of resolving problems. Together, we will clarify your goals, uncover and capitalize on existing strengths, and develop new ways of working through difficulties. My style, which is both directive and supportive, honest and compassionate, works to build the trusting relationship that will be key to our work together. My approach is integrative, eclectic, and flexible: we'll start wherever you are and go from there. The first step is the hardest, but you're not alone in the journey. Give me a call and we'll get you on your way!
