Therapists for college students near Harvard University
Hello there, Feeling stuck? Feeling stressed out about all the things that are competing for your attention? Wanting to change your relationship with yourself, so you can spread your wings and soar? I'm Stefan (he/him) and I want to be there on your journey. Starting therapy can feel scary, even if you've been in therapy before! To lower that intensity a bit, I want you to give you an idea of how I show up to sessions: - I get to know you - your family, friends, hobbies, shows, loves, fears, passions. - I celebrate and hype you up when you do the hard thing. - I ask questions to get you curious about patterns in your life, and point out when you might not be aware of them. - I offer compassion when your mind creates judgments about yourself. - I welcome and ask for feedback, knowing some things will land and others will not. - I laugh with you and value humor. - I tear up when you feel hurt or uncover a tender spot (while also holding space for you to feel). - I'll tell you I'm proud of you. - I nerd out about mental health, skills, approaches, and explain concepts in a way you'll understand. - I slow down and speed up based on your cues, and I give you choice in how we go about sessions. - I'm always working on our relationship, so there's trust and security when we get to difficult things. - I acknowledge the bigger systems of oppression that affect your life and lives of your loved ones. - I'm active and dynamic in sessions - sometimes asking questions, leading an activity, listening and reflecting, interrupting to highlight something you said, and synthesizing information and summarizing it back to you. All of this "I" is the effort I put into helping you get to "you": what you want, what you care about, your goals, dreams, your emotions, stressors, internal talk, and who you want to become and how you want to show up in life. Specialties: queer and trans identities and lived experiences, anxiety and depression, perfectionism, substance use, navigating family dynamics, healing trauma, couples and relationship work, career discernment Approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR; trauma approach), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method (for relationship work), mindfulness and somatic interventions I'm an associate counselor, seeing clients through telehealth in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and California. I bring curiosity, connection, acceptance, and humor into the therapeutic space. I think all people are unique and valuable—Everyone deserves a safe therapeutic space to be heard and appreciated for who they truly are. Life is full of challenges and difficult moments. I believe that as human beings, we are wired to deal with our pain in ways that leave us feeling lost, exhausted, and hopeless. We may lose sight of our purpose, our values, our loved ones, and the many other aspects of life that make us whole and content. With humility and compassion, I aim to support you in dropping the struggle and finding new ways to achieve the well-being you deserve. You don’t have to figure it out alone, and I'm sure we'll share some laughs along the way. I utilize a psychodynamic lens which focuses on the unconscious forces that often drive our emotions and actions; including underlying desires and anxieties that are present deep within the mind yet influence personality and behavior. In addition, I will integrate CBT and DBT with the goal of reducing unwanted behaviors. If we work on ourselves and learn to care for ourselves, we can then be present and capable of helping those around us. I’d love to hear from you. I am best reached over e-mail or through my website.

I have over 25 years experience working with teenagers and adults. I understand the social, behavioral, and academic challenges clients face, not only with the pandemic, but with social media, peer pressure, self-esteem, eating disorders, relationships, decision making, substance use, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm. I provide cognitive behavior therapy, which is to help clients understand why they are thinking and behaving the way they are and to help them understand that in order to change for the long term, they need to first understand what is causing the problem. I provide a safe, non judgmental space for you to unpack your struggles. By using thoughtful questions, I aim to guide you in finding greater insight and more awareness into thoughts and patterns. The modality I most align with is mindfulness based CBT which focuses on identifying and challenging negative thinking patterns that lead to depression and anxiety. What makes my practice unique is my ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and to support them in their personal growth. I'm attuned to the themes and blocks that often go unspoken, and I'm passionate about this work because I believe healing and self discovery are powerful tools for creating a better, more compassionate world.
You’re eager to come home to yourself, and grow roots there - no matter what life throws your way. Life can be both messy and beautiful, and sometimes in the drama we lose connection with the inner wisdom that helps us navigate the changing seasons. We might feel far from ourselves, longing for confidence, peace, and contentment. This is your invitation to rediscover yourself—to cultivate the joy, creativity, and inner wisdom that may have felt out of reach. Together, we’ll create a space that feels alive, compassionate, and safe for your whole self to unfold. I integrate expressive arts therapy, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and attachment-based approaches to help you reconnect with your body’s wisdom and your innate creative spark. Through movement, art, reflection, and presence, we’ll explore what it means to trust yourself again—to feel more grounded, open, and authentically you. I work with people who want to feel more rooted and confident in themselves—whether you're discovering who you are in new ways or moving through an important life change. Many of the folks I support are navigating transitions like entering young adulthood/quarterlife, shifting in midlife, or facing the complexities of major illness, grief, and end-of-life caregiving. I also walk with people exploring post-traumatic growth, reconnecting with creativity, or seeking a whole-person approach to wellbeing. Often, I simply meet people in that tender place of feeling tired and ready for something new. My style is collaborative, warm, and curious. I believe healing can include laughter, play, and moments of wonder alongside deep, authentic emotional work. As you strengthen self-compassion and your capacity for joy, you can begin to experience greater ease in your relationships and a more vibrant connection with life itself. Available via telehealth for folks in NH & MA
Thank you for stopping by! I'm Jenn! College is an incredible time where we are gaining independence and working towards our next phase of life while figuring out where we belong, what our next steps will be, and hopefully having some fun while we do it! My passion is working with young adults in helping them to better understand themselves, figure out where they want to go next, and navigate a new world of responsibility. As someone who spent 4 years in undergrad and 3 years in grad school myself, I know how hard it can be to be away from home, trying to figure out where you fit in both on campus and in the world as whole. Mental health needs don't stop because we've got work to do... in fact, they can feel much worse when accompanied by the additional demands of being a college student, being away from home, and not wanting to let your family down. Whether you could use some help deciding on a career path, adjusting to the change from high school to college, or are struggling with low self-esteem, lack of confidence, anxiety, stress, or relationship issues, I will work collaboratively with you, building on your strengths and what is important to you while helping to guide you towards the goals you would like to achieve, even if you're not quite sure what those goals are just yet!
