Therapists for college students near Harvard University
In addition to eclectic psychotherapy, I provide Internal Family Systems work and a variety of psychodramatic and hypnotic methods in my practice. I have worked with individuals, couples and families for over 4 decades. My belief is that people are complicated and do not fit into simplistic, diagnostic categories. My experience informs me when a therapist (or teacher) believes in your basic goodness and capabilities, you can do more than you ever thought you could.. The initial interview is of the therapist at no charge. Most insurances are accepted. Appointments are limited but available at this time.

Having spent part of my life in Europe and Africa, my background helps me work with a diverse range of clients - from college students and veterans to corporate employees and expats. I am a clinical psychologist and cultural psychologist (Rutgers, PsyD; Harvard, BA) with 19 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults. My specialties include depression, trauma, and anxiety as well as stress, life transitions, cultural adjustment, and relationship issues. I am a caring, interactive therapist and use an integrative approach (ACT, CBT, psychodynamic, and mindfulness techniques) to provide you with a safe space to heal and practice new tools as you reset your life compass. Life is a journey of continual self-discovery, filled with challenges, stressors, and moments of adjustment. Sometimes, these demands become overwhelming, and navigating them alone can feel overwhelming. As a therapist, I offer client-centered psychotherapy and consultation services for adults. My expertise lies in assisting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, stressful life situations, relationship difficulties, and adjustments to life changes. Grounded in developmental, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, and internal family systems (IFS) theories, my approach is focused on the client, practical, and strength-based.
Hi, I'm Lanika, a psychiatric nurse practitioner focused on supporting students with mental health and medication management. I work with you to understand what's worked- and what hasn't- so we can create a plan tailored to your needs. My approach is collaborative and practical, helping you feel supported and empowered while navigating life's challenges. In our first session, we'll get to know each other, review your history, and set goals for your care. I'm here to help you build resilience, manage stress, and thrive both academically and personally. You're not alone- reaching out is the first step toward feeling your best.
You feel trapped in thinking again and again about the same issue? You find yourself repeating same behavioral patterns? You live in self-judgment, guilt, sadness, and lack of good sleep? Does this all make you feel as you are not good enough and you should please others to be liked? And then the perceived failure as a partner, parent or a friend? Collaboratively, we can create a safe space to help you feel your feelings; increase your awareness; understand relationship patterns; and develop strategies to cope at home, work and in society. I provide individual therapy for people experiencing communication issues, anxiety, grief, school burnout, self esteem, peer relationships and women's issues. Specifically, I am interested in mindfulness, self-compassion, psychodynamic therapy, expressive arts therapy, hypnosis, cognitive-behavioral modalities (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy.
Putting experience into words lessons difficulties and facilitates creative, individual ways of making it through life. For couples, fully expressing thoughts and feelings reduces the risk of relationships becoming more strained and faltering. Currently, I am seeing individuals interested in analytic work and couples. Psychoanalysis is the deeper exploration of unconscious dynamics that make you who you are. Understanding the full range of your life experiences and how they have shaped you can free you to pursue the life you want. For creative individuals, an analytic approach is especially helpful in working toward more sustain focus, deeper artistic aims, and an integration of the artist self. Meetings are by telephone or video through the fall, and optionally may continue. I am a candidate at the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis and a licensed psychologist.
Margot brings a warm and interactive style to her psychotherapeutic practice, which can best be described as “eclectic,” as she believes that not one type of therapy is right for everyone. Pulling from psychodynamic (insight-oriented) psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness/meditation, and somatics (the integration of body/mind/spirit), Margot will tailor her practice to people’s individual needs depending on the particular issues they would like to address in therapy. Margot is committed to serving traditionally marginalized communities including people of color, queer and transgender/gender non-conforming people, poly and kink identified people, and people with disabilities. I provide therapy to those looking for support in navigating life stressors or mental illness. I work with my clients to identify and define core values, and explore where there is space in their life to embrace these beliefs more effectively. l utilize elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy to examine thought patterns and how they are impacting emotions and behaviors. I provide a non-judgmental space in which clients can set goals for change or have support in coping with challenges. l believe that therapy is most effective when it is a true partnership between the therapist and the client. I hope to establish an atmosphere of safety and exploration in which clients can process and examine their inner dialogue, as well as feel open to new perspectives and feedback.
