Hello! Thank you for checking out my profile. My biggest priority as a therapist is building a relationship based on partnership, empowerment, and client-identified strengths. It is important to me that clients feel safe and free to be their whole selves in sessions. I enjoy working with individuals who are in the LGBTQIA+, neuro-divergent, and/or disability communities and am specialized in mood regulation, stress reduction, focus and attention, social skills, harm-reduction, and self-esteem challenges.
As a therapist, I partner with you to make sense of your story. Through this work, we often discover together that what’s happening for you in the present makes perfect sense given what you’ve lived through so far and the forces that have shaped you. With this understanding, you can more easily access softness toward yourself and others, and even find other ways of being. I primarily practice from relational psychodynamic and trauma perspectives, drawing from neurodevelopmental, family systems, and body-based frames as appropriate. As a social worker, I am attuned to the ways that systems of power and oppression contribute to experiences of mental health.

We are licensed mental health counselors who work with adults experiencing a variety of life and/or clinical concerns using a collaborative, person-centered approach. As an independently licensed clinical social worker, I have had the honor of supporting clients through depression, anxiety, trauma, and loss. Much of my clinical practice has been with teens and emerging adults- a dynamic and often challenging time of life. My approach and therapeutic philosophy continues to evolve, but is always informed by the needs of each individual client. I believe in a client centered and client driven approach to psychotherapy. You are the expert on your own life, and your perspective is crucial to our work. My goal is to foster a warm, nurturing, and safe environment so you can process your experiences, thoughts, and emotions to gain deeper insight. Building a strong therapeutic relationship takes time, but it all begins with the first session! We will use this time to explore your goals and priorities. Maybe you’ll feel a bit nervous. Or have things you’re not ready to share. It’s all normal and it’s all ok! Ultimately, our first session will just be two people talking.
I love working with college students and young adults. I understand what a complex and sometimes overwhelming time of life this can be; whether you find yourself struggling with anxiety, depression, or difficulty navigating your relationships, I am truly passionate about supporting my clients in their process to gain deeper self-understanding and foster personal growth through self-compassion. I work from a place of genuine curiosity and respect each person’s path as unique. I take a warm, supportive, and collaborative approach, using the information that you present (or, in some cases, avoid) to help you make sense of the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be undermining your relationships and productivity.
Lighthouse Counseling & Sand Play Training Center is an outpatient facility providing support through scheduled appointments only for families, children, couples, and individuals. We also offer workshops and groups for individuals seeking community and support. Sand Play therapy allows the person to tap into the psyche. Through the use of symbolic figures, a person is able to create in the sand tray stories which examine their wounds, the effects from those wounds, and the possibilities for resolution. The practitioner is then able to help a person to connect insights to feelings and begin the journey toward healing. Through Sand Play, the adult client is able to build the skills necessary to avoid the problematic patterns of the past. Children’s thoughts and feelings are given a voice through symbolic play, enabling them to resolve their issues in a language they understand. “Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) integrates elements of many effective psychotherapies in structured protocols that are designed to maximize treatment effects. These include psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, experiential, and body-centered therapies. EMDR is an information processing therapy and uses an eight phase approach ….After EMDR processing, clients generally report that the emotional distress related to the memory has been eliminated, or greatly decreased and that they have gained important cognitive insights. Importantly, these emotional and cognitive changes usually result in spontaneous behavioral and personal change, which are further enhanced with standard EMDR procedures.” The development of the addictive personality is not an overnight event. Often times, an addicted person will have a history of trauma and grief. It is critical to have a comprehensive treatment plan with a therapist who specializes in addictions work in order to make a full recovery. We treat addictions to illegal drugs, alcohol and prescription medications as well as sexual addictions.
