I'm Ashley Olejarz, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults facing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and relationship issues. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about the future. My goal is to provide a supportive space where they can feel heard, understood, and empowered. I believe that with the right tools and guidance, anyone can overcome obstacles and create lasting, positive change in their lives. I create a comfortable, safe space where we explore strategies tailored to your needs. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Grounding, EMDR and Motivational Interviewing, I help clients build coping skills and understand their emotions. In our first sessions, we’ll ensure therapy feels like the right fit before moving forward. Through therapy, clients gain emotional resilience, healthier relationships, and stronger coping skills. They learn to manage stress, process emotions, and build confidence in navigating life’s challenges. My goal is to help clients create lasting change and move forward with clarity and strength

College is a time of change, growth, and figuring out who you are. It can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming, isolating, or just plain confusing. Maybe you're struggling with relationships, anxiety, self-doubt, or the pressure to have it all figured out. Maybe you're navigating your identity, feeling the weight of family expectations, or just needing a space where you can be completely yourself. As a therapist, I create a space where you don’t have to filter yourself—where you can show up as you are, without judgment. My approach is warm, affirming, and emotionally focused, meaning we explore your feelings, your experiences, and what truly matters to you. I understand how important it is to be seen and heard, especially if you’ve felt misunderstood or out of place before. If you’re a college student looking for support in relationships, identity, stress, or self-acceptance, I’m here to help you navigate it all with compassion and clarity. Whether you’re dealing with heartbreak, loneliness, family struggles, or just the everyday challenges of being a student, you deserve a space that feels safe and affirming. You're not alone in this. Let's talk.

The most important part of therapy is building a good rapport with the individual to create a safe and comfortable space. Therapy isn't always easy and neither is the decision to find a therapist; working to ensure clients are comfortable with me and helping them to identify their goals so that the treatment trajectory is predictable, but allows for space to talk about day to day events, if needed. Lastly, ensuring client and therapist personalities align is important as it only enhances the sense of safety and the capacity for positive rapport growth. There is no one intervention that is best for one person. Therefore, I operate with an eclectic combination and knowledge of multiple interventions and techniques as a way to provide the best and most effective strength based and unique treatment. Treatment interventions are individualized in order to align with the identified treatment plan and goals. Individuals have experienced a multitude of events throughout their lives that connect to and impact their capacity to function as they wish within the world today. One persons experiences are never compared or judged; everyone is always doing the best they can in those moments and I want to work with them to help increase what their best looks or feels like.

Are you experiencing stress in your relationships and you want to build healthier ones? Maybe you find saying “no” to be impossible, you don’t feel heard by others, or you have a difficult time managing your emotions on top of typical college stressors. Perhaps past relationships, trauma, or negative experiences have impacted you. It can be so frustrating and isolating to focus on healing in order to build a better future. Have you been in therapy before or are you new to mental health therapy? My goal as your therapist is to meet you where you are at and move together towards the changes you would like to see. I pull from a variety of different styles to address your goals, including skill building, CBT, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed care approaches. I hope to foster a space where you feel seen and heard and where you are able to take care of what has brought you to therapy (or back to therapy) in the first place. I offer weekly, bi-weekly, or, in some cases, monthly sessions at 45 or 60 minutes in length via telehealth. All sessions start with a phone call where we 1) make sure I am the right fit for you, 2) verify your insurance or payment method is active and all set, and 3) schedule you an intake and an ongoing appointment time that works for your schedule. I return all calls and email requests for therapy services and hope that I may be of help to you at this point in time or, at the very least, be able to point you in the right direction.

I have a passion for working with young adults as they navigate the, sometimes difficult, processes of exploring their mental and emotional health and well being while also juggling their school, work, and relationships in their life. I work with students who are experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, stress management, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, along with many other struggles that are occurring. When working together, you will be given a safe and nonjudgmental space to gain deeper insight into what you are struggling with. You will be able to take therapy at your own pace and develop skill to help regulate emotions, manage life stressors, experience growth, and access the strength you have had all along. We will work together as a team throughout. I offer an empathetic, caring, and trauma-informed therapeutic environment. I believe that you are the expert of your life and it is an honor to be apart of that journey. Let's connect further to see if this would be a space that could be beneficial towards helping you gain deeper insight into yourself and achieving your goals.

I am a clinical social worker (LICSW) with over 25 years of experience working with young adults and families across a variety of settings. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, parental guidance, attachment, family systems and relationship issues. I deeply value authenticity and strive to create a trusting relationship with my clients. My approach is grounded in family system theory but draws on a variety of methods including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy to create a tailored approach for each individual person. I am committed to helping clients determine problem clarity, as I believe this is essential to achieving problem resolution. The feelings of anxiety, sadness and inner conflict can feel so overwhelming. My work focuses on engaging collaboratively with people to fully understand the roots of their personal pain and create pathways to healing emotional wounds. We are in a conversation with ourselves all day long, and when we become more aware of how we talk to ourselves, it gives us the opportunity to become more gentle and compassionate with ourselves. Clients who work with me learn how to transform the internal conversation and shift their thoughts, patterns and ultimately their lives for the better.

Shoreline Wellness Center places a focus on talk therapy (psychotherapy) to help patients better manage the stress they encounter in their daily life. Working with a therapist has many benefits, such as coping with feelings, facing and solving problems, or changing behavioral patterns that are leading to some of your symptoms. In therapy, we don’t just talk about problems. The main goal is to develop a reasonable and doable solution. Sometimes you may have “homework” to complete for your therapist. This may include something like tracking your moods throughout the day, journaling about your thoughts, going out of your way to be social, or joining in activities that caused you to feel anxious in the past. Your therapist may even suggest for you to try to look at things differently or to learn new skills to use in your everyday life. Therapy focuses on current and past thoughts, feelings, and issues. Both are important, as they may very well be connected in some way. Discussing your challenges and having an open dialogue is the key to finding the solution to help your present and prepare for your future.

I have 20 years of working with clients on anxiety, burnout, and overwhelm. I love building new wellness practices that are accessible and sustainable -- identifying challenges, utilizing coping skills, and creating easy self-care practices for your day. It's wonderful to see clients shift from having distress at their symptoms to feeling confident about their ability to handle what life throws at them. After 20 years of working and learning, I utilize a wide range of approaches -- the classic Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to reframe unhelpful thoughts, somatic practices like yoga, Emotional Freedom Technique, and mindfulness and breath work to help settle the body, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to get to know with caring and curiosity what is behind the triggers and automatic responses. My pronouns are she/her, and I strive to incorporate a feminist and anti-racist perspective into my work.
