I am a private therapist who works with clients in the areas of anxiety, social stress, and academic stress. I have worked with students who had eating disorders. I have experience working with individuals in school settings, as well as with college students and young professionals who are finding their way in the world of work. I welcome meeting you if my profile fits your needs. I also have a profile on the Psychology Today website, which you can access to find out more about me. I currently do not take insurance, but can give you information that you can use to submit to your insurance company for a rebate. I also offer a sliding scale fee if needed.
Hi, I’m Eva, a licensed mental health counselor and owner of Rooted Behavioral Health & Wellness in Massachusetts. I work with adolescents and young adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck or like their thoughts have taken over. I draw from evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while also keeping sessions real and engaging—because sometimes a little humor can make hard things feel more manageable. Together, we'll take small steps, challenge old patterns, and move forward in ways that once felt impossible. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can be real, feel understood, and actually learn tools that make a difference in your everyday life.
I believe the role of a therapist is to be more than a reflective and empathetic companion in the client’s journey and must also incorporate directive approaches in order to alternate between being a companion and being a leader on that journey. Inherent in this belief is that clients are coming to therapy because they want something different than what they currently have. This can be as simple as a new perspective on a past or current struggle or as complex as a new skill set for managing and overcoming emotional, behavioral, cognitive, relational, or somatic patterns that have arisen in response to emotional distress. My theoretical orientation is rooted in Systems Theory and I utilize interventions from Family Systems Therapy, Internal Family Systems, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, ARC, as well as Somatic and Mindfulness based psychotherapies. I have over 15 years of clinical experience working with adolescents, college students, adults, couples, and families. My experience has shown that change is typically hard work and often requires compassionate and collaborative support in order to build new skills. I see clients in both Oregon and Massachusetts and I offer a 30 minute free video or phone consultation to see if I am the right fit for you.
Thank you for visiting my profile. My approach is gentle, holistic, and collaborative. My priority is to establish a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship with each client. I am skilled in providing individual therapy, medication management, and psychoeducation to help clients manage symptoms, improve coping skills, and enhance overall mental health and wellness. When conducting individual therapy, I utilize different types of therapy, namely Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Supportive Therapy. My clinical interests include anxiety and depressive disorders; eating disorders; mental health needs of the LGBTQIA+ community; young adult mental health; men’s issues. With a genuine commitment to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting holistic care, I strive to empower all individuals to achieve optimal mental well-being and lead fulfilling lives. Furthermore, as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am passionate about the mental health needs and protecting the rights of members of the community.
As a therapist, I provide a safe and affirming space for individuals to explore their identities, heal from trauma, and build resilience. Throughout my career, I have worked with immigrants, refugees, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and LGBTQ+ community. I value the culture, identity, and lived experiences of the individuals that I work with. By understanding the unique challenges faced by these communities, I tailor my approaches to meet the specific needs of each client. I have an integrated approach to therapy. I enjoy integrating creativity and artistic expression in the therapeutic process. My practice has focused on trauma-informed care, liberation, and cultural competence. I recognize the importance of understanding and respecting the cultural backgrounds and experiences of my clients. I encourage clients to express their needs, set goals, and take charge of their healing journey to foster empowerment.
*When emailing me, please specify what you are seeking therapy for!* My practice is rooted in the belief that everyone is worthy of health, recovery, and a positive relationship with food and their body, no matter their size. My goal is to create a space that feels safe and supportive enough to make positive change happen. I specialize in eating disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, OSFED), self-esteem challenges, anxiety disorders, depression, and self-harming behaviors in young adults (18+) and adults and am currently the assistant clinical director of a nationally recognized eating disorder outpatient program. I utilize evidence-based treatment approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). My approach is strengths-based and person-centered, with the belief that therapy is not "one size fits all." We will work as a team to figure out what is most supportive and effective for you. Recovering from disordered eating in a society that encourages it IS possible. If you are ready to take the next step in your recovery, I would love to schedule a phone consultation with you to see if we would be a good fit.

Currently, my practice offers telehealth sessions, providing flexibility and convenience for clients. Before starting my private practice, I worked in various settings, including schools, residential programs, and community-based organizations. I am passionate about what I do, and my primary goal is to help clients build confidence, improve their overall well-being, and equip them with effective tools to handle future challenges and stressors. You may appear confident on the outside, but internally struggle with self-doubt, anxiety, or fear of rejection. Many of my clients feel “too much” and not enough at the same time, which can show up as overgiving, withdrawing, or difficulty setting boundaries. I work with high-achieving individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, and grief—often expressed through overthinking, emotional avoidance, or disconnection. These patterns are often rooted in early experiences, cultural pressures, or navigating marginalized identities, all of which can shape how we view ourselves and relate to others. Together, we work to build a more grounded sense of self, increase emotional awareness, and shift away from survival patterns like numbing, overcontrolling, or checking out. My goal is to help you feel more confident, connected, and at ease in your life and relationships. I especially enjoy working with BIPOC clients, Asian Americans, first-generation individuals, and those exploring identity and belonging. I offer a free, no-pressure consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
I specialize in helping people to manage and recover from eating disorders and co-occurring illnesses. I believe that clients who struggle with eating disorders have inherently painful emotions which are managed by various harmful behaviors so I work collaboratively with clients, their support network, and their outpatient providers to find ways to change these behaviors and manage emotions in both the short and long term. In my outpatient practice, I see individuals of all ages and genders who struggle with a wide variety of challenges related to disordered eating, body image issues, and low self-esteem. When I'm not seeing outpatient clients, I also work full-time at a local eating disorder facility, and am able to facilitate referrals to local treatment centers as needed. I remain committed to continuing to work with clients while they need a higher level of support. In addition to in-office individual therapy, I also offer recovery coaching in the community. This can include a wide variety of support including meal coaching, food exposures, and body image improvement coaching. Please contact me for additional information. If you are interested in becoming a new client, please email me for the fastest response.

I would like to support you on your therapeutic journey and in my experience, a good relationship and rapport are the most important ingredients for successful therapy.
