Hello! I am currently ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS in RI, MA, and CT! It’s important to have a connection with someone who can help you work through difficult emotions. Oftentimes, we go through life on auto-pilot without ever learning how to manage stress or how to overcome new challenges. I am here to be present with you every step of the way, so that you can do the things you couldn't do before. I primarily work with undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral students. I particularly enjoy working with people who are struggling with social phobia, self-esteem, depression and anxiety. I have been working with college students over the past seven years. In our work together, I will spend time getting to know you and your long-term goals. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is essential. My clinical style is supportive and collaborative. I am flexible in tailoring treatment to suit your needs, with a primary emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. At Compassionate Healing, I offer you evidence-based therapy to help you become your “best self.” I incorporate different therapy styles that have been proven in research to be effective in treating various mental health problems. Life often gives unexpected challenges. I am here to provide the safe space and encouragement to process how your past experiences impact your present and to support you in finding solutions, healthy development, and emotional growth. My approach includes a person-centered, person-informed model of care. This may include the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Solution Focused Therapy as well as a range of other modalities to best fit your circumstance and goals. We will work together to overcome the complexities in your life, validating your journey and empowering you to thrive while encouraging you to heal and grow.
I believe therapy can make a profound, positive impact, helping you heal and becoming the best version of yourself. My approach is collaborative—getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and working together to create treatment goals that improve your mental health. I support clients facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, prenatal and postpartum depression, and substance use. I also work with clients around racial and immigrant identity, and life transitions in young adulthood. In our sessions, I provide a safe, inclusive space where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. I’m a social person who enjoys hiking, traveling, and exploring creativity through stand-up comedy and improv. My warmth and humor help create a relaxed environment where you can feel at ease while we work through your challenges. If you often hold your feelings in, struggle to find someone to talk to, or cope with trauma through unhealthy habits like substance use, now may be the time to seek help. Therapy is a sign of strength, not weakness—taking the first step toward healing is brave and empowering, and I’m here to support you in becoming a happier, healthier version of yourself.
Do you find yourself overcome with anxiety, stress, or intrusive thoughts? You may feel stuck in your own head, think negative "what-if" thoughts, or replay social situations in your mind, critiquing what you said and overanalyzing how everyone else responded. Are you ready to make a change? If so, allow me to guide you in shifting your mind from being your arch enemy to your powerful ally. My clients and I work together as a team. We will talk about the negative thinking patterns affecting you the most, and strategies to change them so that you can breathe a sigh of relief as you feel their grip on you loosen. My clients learn new ways of approaching their thoughts, and techniques to calm their minds for immediate and long-term relief. Practicing these tools in-between our sessions ensures that you are developing new healthy habits to support lasting change. I use strategies based on scientific research so you can get the results you are looking for. If you are tired of feeling stuck and are ready to take that first step toward feeling better, call or email me today. Change starts from within, and I am here to guide you in that process.

It's wonderful you're taking the step to care for your mental health! I have a heart for college and graduate students and understand the unique stressors of university life, such as academic pressure, social anxieties, and the transition to independence. I am also passionate about helping individuals explore how their cultural and ethnic identities and upbringing interplay with their mental well-being, including the experiences related to cultural identity and navigating multiple cultural spaces. My background as a teacher, HR professional, writer, wife, mother, and therapist has broadened my empathy and understanding of diverse experiences. I graduated with a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University and am trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), a well-researched method for trauma. I offer a collaborative therapeutic approach, and utilize many researched methods tailored to your individual needs. I understand that family history and early relationships can significantly impact mental health, so I often begin by exploring these areas. Together, we'll create a plan to achieve your goals. I enjoy working with adults of all ages, but I have a special fondness of college and graduate students during this unique time of exploration and adjustment. Please reach out, and let's figure things out together!
