I have been working in the mental health field for over 12 years and am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and move toward healing and growth. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of New Mexico, and went on to receive my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Aurora University in 2013. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of settings, including outpatient services for individuals with severe mental health conditions, inpatient and outpatient addictions treatment, geriatric mental health, and community mental health. I also have extensive experience working with justice-involved individuals and understand the unique challenges that can come with navigating the legal system alongside mental health and substance use concerns. I strive to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe and supported. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you build the tools you need to thrive.

I retired from IU CAPS after 20 years and opened up a private practice in Ellettsville. This is 6 miles West of Bloomington on Highway 46. You'll have to drive to get here but I'm right off the Highway in a beautiful country setting. I can also do telehealth sessions if you like. I use a down to earth approach that deals with what's going on right now. It is supportive and helps people find their strengths.

Welcome. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted by the weight of everything you’ve been carrying, I want you to know you don’t have to figure it all out alone. I believe that therapy is, first and foremost, a partnership built on warmth, safety, and mutual respect. Life can be incredibly complex, and our mental well-being is deeply connected to everything around us—our physical health, our personal histories, and the day-to-day pressures of the world we live in. My goal is to provide a soft landing place where you can step out of the chaos, catch your breath, and feel truly heard. As a counselor with a deep background in both mental health and clinical medicine, I look at the whole picture of who you are. Together, we will gently explore what is holding you back, honor your lived experience, and collaborate on a practical, supportive path forward at a pace that feels safe and right for you. My Specialties Healing Trauma & Stress: Gently working together to soothe your nervous system, process old wounds, and bring a sense of safety back to your daily life. Navigating Life & Career Transitions: Providing a steady, encouraging anchor when you are managing major life shifts, educational pursuits, or redefining your personal goals. Financial & Socioeconomic Stress: Offering a compassionate, zero-judgment space to talk about the very real anxiety, stress, and burdens that financial and systemic pressures place on our minds and families. Integrative, Whole-Person Wellness: Honoring the profound connection between your mind and body, ensuring your physical well-being is supported alongside your emotional health. My Approach My therapeutic style is warm, interactive, and deeply collaborative. I am not a passive therapist who just sits and nods; I am right there in the trenches with you, listening with an open heart and a curious mind. Because everyone processes things differently, I love using creative, visual, and practical tools to help us map out patterns and make sense of heavy emotions together. There is no judgment here—only a shared commitment to your growth, your peace of mind, and your personal autonomy. Who I Work Best With I welcome adults from all walks of life who are looking for a deeply empathetic, down-to-earth ally. Whether you are navigating a demanding career, feeling crushed by the weight of systemic barriers, or simply trying to find your footing during a time of immense change, I am here to support you. We offer mental health services and support using Relational Cultural Therapy. "Relational-Cultural work is not about changing people to fit into dysfunctional cultural conditions, but empowering them to heal in connection, and in turn, to heal others in connection. A part of growth in connection often spills into participating in social change, through creating alliances or communities that are built around relational values." –Judith V. Jordan, Relational-Cultural Therapy. Our practice is gender affirming, intersectional, anti-racist, and diverse.

Hello! One of the hardest things is feeling like we have hurt or disappointed those closest to us. It’s a struggle every day to keep relationships and even friendships going smoothly. We often disappoint ourselves, and life hasn’t always been what we hoped it would be. Maybe things look good on the surface but inside we feel like everyone else has it figured out while we barely keep it together. It doesn’t have to feel like this, and I can help you feel better through therapy. While in therapy with us you will definitely laugh, you might cry, and you will see changes in your life that you’ve wanted for a long time. Good therapy can help us feel less like a failure and find more success in life. Changing the way we think can change the way we feel and dealing with trauma can help it feel less awful. Therapy can help us be a better partner, friend, or parent. Whether you’re reading this for yourself, for your family, or as a couple we can help you make things better. You'll feel safe and connected while you process the past so life becomes easier and more enjoyable. Our therapists can help you learn skills that will help you feel better about yourself and have better interactions with other people.
Depression, anxiety, addictions, and relationship struggles have all become commonplace in our culture. Are you struggling to find peace and joy? Have your choices or the choices of others left you feeling broken? Are you searching for hope amidst seemingly hopeless circumstances? "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life." Proverbs 13:12 Faithful Counsel is a group of like-minded, Christian mental health counselors (independently contracted) who desire to see hearts healed through counseling with truth in love. If you have a measure of faith, Faithful Counsel hopes to exhort and encourage you to grow stronger in it. If you are experiencing doubt, aren't sure what you believe, or even consider yourself agnostic or atheist, we would still encourage you to explore the possibility of a loving Creator. God makes many promises to His people, if there's even a remote chance that those promises are true, aren't they worth genuine exploration?

I am a seasoned clinical psychologist who is passionate about helping others be happier and live a better life . I work with individuals and couples at my practice in downtown Evansville. I have been in private practice for over 5 years after earning my PsyD from Yeshiva University in New York City. I incorporate a variety of techniques depending on my client's individual needs. These include DBT skills, mindfulness based interventions, and trauma informed treatment. I am committed to working with culturally diverse people from every walk of life and strive to create an open and affirmative space for all. I particularly enjoy working with young adults, adults, and youths. We each come to therapy searching for things to change, understanding, and symptoms relief. During our initial session, you can expect me to take time to get to know you, and provide feedback that you can apply to yourself and others in everyday interactions. We will look at your thoughts, feelings, and reactions that arise in therapy in order to work directly in the present moment. Whether you're looking extra support during a challenging situation, or you simply want to change direction in your life, I look forward to us establishing a collaborative relationship, It is important to understand that you will get more results from therapy if you actively participate in the process. The ultimate purpose of therapy is to help you bring what you learn in session back into your life. Therefore, beyond the work you do in therapy sessions, your therapist may suggest some things you can do outside of therapy to support your process - such as reading a pertinent book, journaling on specific topics, noting particular behaviors or taking action on your goals. People seeking psychotherapy are ready to make positive changes in their lives, are open to new perspectives and take responsibility for their lives. Do you take insurance, and how does that work? To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers. Some helpful questions you can ask them: *What are my mental health benefits? *What is the coverage amount per therapy session? *How many therapy sessions does my plan cover? *How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider? *Is approval required from my primary care physician? In-Network Insurance Plans: Anthem, Optum, United Health Care, Atnea, New Direction, etc. Please check with your insurance carrier to know if I am a provider. Often a single case agreement can be made with your insurance and I can apply to become a provider for your insurance.
