Most clients are already aware of what they need or where they want to go. My role is to help you identify what is getting in the way of living out your values each day, and to help you gradually remove those barriers. If you aren't sure what you hope to get out of therapy but just want to feel better, we'll work together on a plan towards increased wellness that fits for you. I consider myself a generalist but I have specific training in the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, substance use, grief, and personality disorders. My practice involves cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and mindfulness-based interventions. I do my best to tailer the interventions I use to the specific needs of each client. It takes courage to ask for help, whether you're experiencing mental health issues for the first time or whether you have struggled for years. I hope to make your experience as welcoming and comfortable as possible. The quality of the relationship between the therapist and client is, after all, one of the most important determinants of therapy success.

Whether you are struggling with distressing emotions, holding onto unhelpful beliefs about yourself or your experiences, or navigating a complicated season of life, I believe I can help you. My role as your therapist is to provide a supportive, collaborative space where you can learn more about yourself and develop new ways of approaching life’s challenges. I work with both adolescents and adults, offering support on issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, body image, gender identity, and sexuality. I am particularly passionate about helping those from diverse backgrounds, including members of the queer community, neurodivergent individuals, and those with the non-monogamous or kink communities. My background is in psychodynamic therapy. This type of therapy helps you to better understand patterns that play out in your life, how your mind works, the internal conflicts you wrestle with, the defense mechanisms you use, and other things you might not be fully conscious of. By learning more about yourself and your struggles, you are better equipped to make changes in your life, solve your problems in the ways you want to solve them, and break out of the self-defeating patterns you find yourself stuck in. I specialize in working with adults with longstanding difficulties, including depression and anxiety, overwhelming emotions, issues with self-esteem, impulsivity, and self-destructive behavior. I am not a believer in quick fixes or easy answers. Being in therapy is hard work and a major commitment. I often meet with people long term and sometimes in twice-weekly therapy. I aim to be an ally as you work to make changes that won’t just make you feel better today but will change your life in the years to come.

If you're exhausted not only from feeling stuck, but also from feeling misunderstood or unable to be your full self, you deserve a therapist who supports, understands, and affirms you. I bring lived experience to create an accessible space where there is less pressure to conform. Together, we'll make sense of your experiences and build a life that feels more authentic, fulfilling, and sustainable. I work with adults and teens (13+) who are seeking support related to Autism, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, and more. As a Black, neurodivergent, queer person, I am especially passionate about working with clients who identify as BIPOC, neurodivergent, and/or LGBTQIA+. I approach therapy with presence, curiosity, humility, and deep respect for the privilege of being invited into my clients' lives. My goal is to help clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to navigate challenges with greater confidence and self-compassion. As a client, you can expect an active and collaborative therapist who partners with you to turn self-awareness and reflection into meaningful, lasting change. Using mind-body approaches, I invite clients to slow down and become curious about their emotional and physical experiences. I also recognize that shame, overwhelm, and frustration often show up when we begin expanding beyond what feels safe and familiar. Because of this, I value building trust as the foundation of my work, and believe healing begins with authentic connection and a safe space to explore what may be keeping you feeling "stuck."

Therapy can be a very powerful way to show up for yourself- opening yourself up to new ways of approaching life’s challenges and building the skills to work with your emotions rather than against them. If we work together, I will help you explore what your emotions are trying to tell you. From there, we will focus on developing the skills to feel more of what you want to feel and less of what you don’t, to treat yourself with kindness and respect, and to show up authentically in your relationships. I make it a priority to create a space that feels safe and affirming, while also challenging you to push toward your goals. Clients often describe me as warm, gentle, and encouraging, while also valuing my humor, directness, and genuine connection. If this sounds like a good fit for you, I look forward to meeting you!
