I offer individual therapy for personal growth and relationships. My practice focuses on creating a comfortable, welcoming, and grounded atmosphere for clients to grow and find meaning. My office is not a typical stuffy doctor's office experience. I believe in showing people a lot of love and lending them a compassionate ear. I look for the positive and lean more toward growth and empowerment instead of disorders. My focus is to help people live well and overcome their obstacles. Everyone deserves to find meaning and joy in their lives.
College and early adulthood can be a time of incredible growth—but it can also be a time when questions about identity, purpose, relationships, independence, and the future become especially difficult to navigate. You may find yourself asking, Who am I? What do I actually want? Am I on the right path? Why do I feel so overwhelmed when everything seems like it should be going well? My approach to counseling is grounded in existential-humanistic therapy, which means I believe you are more than a diagnosis, a difficult experience, or a chapter in your past. I see therapy as a collaborative space where you can be understood as a whole person, explore what gives your life meaning, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and the choices you want to make. I have extensive training and certifications in trauma and understand how past experiences can continue to influence the way we think, feel, relate to others, and see ourselves. Whether you are processing trauma or simply trying to understand patterns that no longer serve you, we can work together at a pace that feels safe and respectful. I also work with college-aged students experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, including the ways these challenges can affect academics, relationships, motivation, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and everyday life. My goal is not to tell you who you should be or what your life should look like. Instead, I want to help you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, work through what has been painful, and make intentional choices about the person and life you want to create. Therapy can be a place to put down the pressure to have everything figured out. You don't have to arrive with the right words or know exactly what you need. We can start where you are. You are not behind. You are becoming. And you don't have to figure it all out alone.

Feeling stuck? Shame, guilt, and worry weighing you down? Are you a "fixer" or "people pleaser" struggling to prioritize yourself? Maybe your relationships are less than fulfilling, and you're feeling alone with no one to support you. This is a tough way to live, and let me tell you this: it's not the only way for you, and I'm here to help you get there. In therapy, I'll support you, without judgment, as you share your experiences and feelings. We will help you learn to regulate your nervous system after trauma or chronic stress, as well as prioritize self-care, and approach relationships with enhanced greater connection, authenticity, and presence. I believe that every person, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, or background, deserves the gift of healing. It's time for you to come home to yourself—to rediscover your true self and embrace a life of authenticity. So, when are you ready to begin?
Adjusting to college life can be difficult on so many levels. I can help with anxiety and depression issues that you've been struggling with for a long time or that are new to you. Issues I often see are related to adjusting to being independent for the first time, the rigor of school, or navigating new social circles. I have special expertise in helping folks with body-focused repetitive behaviors (skin picking, hair pulling) as well as being training in cognitive behavioral treatment of insomnia.
Sometimes we feel stuck. Sometimes we feel overwhelmed. Sometimes we feel bad and we don't know why. My goal is to help you trailblaze through the forest of life with an improved sense of self and sense of direction. To facilitate this process I use a variety of self-assessment tools and provide self-care education. Sessions will involve talk-therapy and may include use of worksheets, journaling, charting, and art-based interventions. I also incorporate the healing power of humor, when appropriate. I will partner with you to help you feel comfortable in your own skin and confident in each step you take towards growth.

I enjoy working with students who find themselves looking for help with anxiety, OCD, stress, and feelings of burnout. A lot of my clients identify with being high-achieving and introverted. From my own experience in college and working with college students for the last 10 years, I know school can be both fun and exciting, but also overwhelming and stressful. Please don't hesitate to reach out (via phone or email) to see if you'd like to work with me - I always start with a free 20 minute consultation call to get to know potential clients.
Living with OCD or anxiety can be exhausting. The constant doubt, intrusive thoughts, avoidance and compulsions can make everyday life feel overwhelming— like it's running your life instead of you. I specialize in helping adults break free from OCD, perfectionism, and anxiety disorders. I understand how isolating these struggles can feel, and I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where you can feel understood while learning practical tools to understand anxiety and move toward what truly matters to you. If you're struggling with OCD, we’ll use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD. Together we'll build a concrete treatment plan, and with steady support, you’ll gradually face fears, and reduce compulsions, building confidence and learning that you can handle uncertainty without relying on rituals. To address anxiety and perfectionism, I integrate CBT and ACT techniques, so you can develop a healthier mindset and respond to difficult thoughts with more flexibility and self-compassion. Therapy is active and goal-oriented, but always grounded in warmth and respect. I’d love to support you in this process.
I believe that mental health is a journey of piecing together multiple working parts, and I hope to be a part of that process with you. About Me I hold a PhD in Social Work and I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving the states of Georgia and Maryland. I received my PhD from the University of Alabama, my MSW from the University of Georgia, and BA from The University of Alabama. I have multiple years of clinical experience among various populations (children, teens, families, and young adults), various backgrounds, and in numerous settings (residential, inpatient, outpatient, private practice). I also currently hold an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Social Work. I am someone with whom people generally feel at ease and comfortable, which is an important part of what makes therapy work. My initial goal within the therapeutic relationship is to provide you with just that: a positive, safe, and comfortable place, where you feel at ease to talk about things that matter to you. Outside of work, I enjoy hanging out with my pets, finding challenging hikes, cooking/baking, going to the beach/finding water, gardening, exploring the city, and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy picking up new creative projects and DIYs! Who I Help & What I Help With Who I Can Help Children (6-12) Teens (13-17) Emerging & Young Adults (18-29) Adult Couples What I Can Help With Relationship issues or losing a relationship Adjusting to and navigating life transitions Improving unhealthy/disruptive habits and behaviors Feeling sad or depressed Trauma and loss Feeling overwhelmed or anxious Feeling alone or disconnected from others Experiencing stress at work, school, or home Conflict resolution Learning to value and love yourself My Approach Types of Therapies It’s not uncommon for someone to enter therapy a bit nervous and with no clear sense of where to start – they simply want things to change for the better and to feel like themselves again. You are the expert of your own experience, but it’s easy to lose your way and feel lost when in distress. I will meet you wherever you are and help you piece things back to a sense of what normal feels like for you. The best approach is one that works for you, so I may draw on several different approaches to therapy, all of which have been shown by research to help individuals reduce stress, gain clarity, and make changes in their lives. They include but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Person-Centered Therapy Narrative Therapy Culturally Sensitive Therapy Services & Payment At this time, all sessions will be remote/virtual and take place through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. You may choose the mode with which you are most comfortable (i.e., video, phone). This is a great option for accessibility and flexibility, but please be sure to first, consider whether this is the most appropriate option for you at this time. How to Get Started *Ready to get started? Just head to the “Contact Me” tab or the “book appointment” link at the bottom of every page of this website. You can schedule your first appointment on your own and whenever you’re ready with no initial contact required. Please note that I am committed to your privacy. Therefore, please do not include confidential or private information if you choose to email or call. Further and more detailed information will be exchanged through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. I look forward to speaking with you! Types of Sessions Visits with me typically involve the following types of sessions: Intake Session: Assessment & Planning (60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $200) It’s important to feel comfortable with your therapist. For this reason, the first session serves to help you and me decide whether the therapeutic relationship will be the best fit. The intake is also an Assessment and Planning phase, which is focused on learning more in depth about you, your history, and what brings you to therapy. This phase also allows me to begin putting together a plan for future sessions if you are comfortable with moving forward. All follow up sessions after the initial intake session will be considered a regular therapy session. Regular Individual Therapy Session (30-60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $90-$180) Following the Assessment and Planning phase, we’ll decide when and how often to meet. Session time frames depend on your treatment needs and personal circumstances and are guided by the plan we develop together. Please note that 30-minute sessions are private pay only. These sessions may work well for children and adolescents, day-to-day check-ins, more solution-focused sessions, quicker access to therapy, etc. Regular Family Therapy Session With Client (30 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $108, Private Pay Only) When needed, family sessions provide an opportunity to strengthen communication, address relational dynamics, and support your child or adolescent's progress in treatment. These sessions may include parents/guardians, caregivers, and/or siblings depending on the goals we establish together. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Brief Family Therapy Session Without Client (15 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $54, Private Pay Only) These brief check-ins offer a dedicated space for parents and caregivers to share observations, ask questions, and stay connected to their child's therapeutic progress without the client present. They are not a replacement for regular family sessions but rather, serve as a lightweight touchpoint between sessions when needed. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Couples Therapy Session (60 minutes; $216, Private Pay Only) Couples therapy sessions provide a structured space to address relational concerns, improve communication, and work toward shared goals within the relationship. These sessions are designed to support both partners in understanding relational patterns, navigating conflict more effectively, and building a stronger foundation for daily functioning together. Please note that all couples therapy sessions of any length are private pay only. Payment Options In-Network Insurance & Third-Party Payers I currently accept the following insurance plans in Georgia: Aetna Cigna/Evernorth United Healthcare/UBH/Optum Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans I currently accept the following insurance plans in Maryland: Aetna Cigna/Evernorth United Healthcare/UBH/Optum Medicaid/Carelon Behavioral Health Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans This means that if you are enrolled in any of these plans (or potentially any of their subsidiaries), your out-of-pocket expense is limited to your deductible and copay/coinsurance. While I can assist in determining what these costs will be, it may be helpful to ask your insurance provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 2. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *I am currently working to become a provider in network with Anthem as well as any applicable subsidiaries under Anthem in the state of Georgia. I am also currently working to become a provider in network with CareFirst as well as any applicable subsidiaries under CareFirst in the state of Maryland. Private Pay & Out-of-Network Reimbursement I also accept private pay, and if you have another insurance provider, you may also have out-of-network benefits. With this option, your insurance benefits may reimburse the majority of the cost of therapy. With both private pay and out-of-network reimbursement, you will be provided with automatic invoices, statements, and superbills for any needed reimbursements later from your insurance provider. I recommend calling your insurance provider to learn more about how reimbursement works. It may be helpful to ask your provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. Does my plan provide out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health services? 2. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 3. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *Lack of insurance coverage, privacy concerns, flexibility, and quicker access to care are only a few of the reasons why one might choose this option. Cancellation Policy All clients are required to have an active credit/debit card on file at the time of scheduling an appointment. For appointment no-shows, last-minute cancellations, or inactive insurance, you will be charged in full regardless of reason. This is necessary, as a time commitment is made and held exclusively for you. You may still apply this fee to future appointments. Contact Me Ready to get started? Hello! My name is Sang-Mi Lee (she/they), and I am an MSW student at the University of Georgia. Prior to pursuing my master’s, I earned my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Asian-American studies from Washington University in St. Louis. I believe that finding pride in your authentic self is one of the most important (and scary!) journeys we take throughout our lives. As a Korean-American member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am well-versed in navigating multiple identities and wish to provide support and guidance for those who may be feeling lost. Alongside my therapeutic studies, I have spent many years working in psychological research with an emphasis on wellness across the lifespan and developing one’s purpose in life. My publications have focused specifically on helping disenfranchised and minoritized individuals receive the best support possible for their development. I am also interested in the intersection of mental and physical health, and want to promote treatment adherence and positive lifestyle changes for those living with both physical and psychiatric diseases. I am honored to be a part of the Roll for Wellness team as a lifelong nerd and gamer. Whether it’s roleplaying during a TTRPG or crafting a cosplay for your next anime convention, I believe an abundance of self-confidence and healing can take place while engaging in creative pursuits. However, artistic creation can be a slippery slope as we constantly battle with imposter syndrome and perfectionism. Together, we can identify your strengths and use your passions to support your overall health and wellbeing. When I’m not working, I love doing puzzles with my family, cuddling my doggies, or playing video games with my friends!
Navigating the transition to college and early adulthood can be exciting, but it can also be incredibly stressful and overwhelming. Are you struggling to manage the pressures of academics, relationships, or being away from home? Do you find yourself constantly worrying, feeling down, or having difficulty sleeping? Are you experiencing conflict with parents, peers, or even professors? Are you questioning whether college is the right path for you, or if you're pursuing it due to external pressure? Everyone experiences some level of stress during this time, but if these feelings are persistent and impacting your daily life, or causing significant relationship strain, it might be helpful to talk to someone. Counseling provides a safe space to explore these challenges, develop coping strategies, and clarify your own goals and values. Our virtual sessions offer the flexibility to meet before, between, or after classes, making it easier than ever to prioritize your mental well-being as you navigate this new chapter. Visit my website below to learn more about me and the counseling process.
Great to meet you! Hi, I’m Angela. I’ve been supporting people through life’s ups and downs for many years, and I believe that we all deserve understanding, kindness, and a space where we can explore what’s really going on for us. I work with individuals, couples, and families — including kids, teens, adults, and seniors — who are facing things like anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD challenges, stress in relationships, or family issues. No matter where you are in your journey, I’m here to help you feel heard and supported as you make healthier choices and create the life you want. A bit about my approach to therapy I bring warmth, openness, and a “we’re in this together” attitude to our work. Clients describe me as understanding, genuine, and easy to talk to — someone who laughs with you, sits with the hard moments, and doesn’t shy away from the tough stuff. We’ll talk it out, make space for the stories you bring, and work through challenges at a pace that feels right for you. My style is solution-oriented and open-minded, and you’ll always be met with respect and curiosity. What you can expect from our first session In our first session, you can expect to feel welcomed and genuinely listened to. We’ll focus on understanding what’s been pulling at you and what you hope to change. You’ll leave with a sense of clarity, some early ideas for what we might explore together, and a feeling that this is a safe space where you can show up as you are. Over time, many people find they feel more confident handling life’s stresses, stronger in their relationships, and better equipped with tools to move forward with purpose and resilience.

I strive to provide a safe space to work through emotions and find effective ways to manage them. I help people process past experiences and current reactions that affect the decisions we make in order to promote healthy change and understanding of ourselves and our patterns. Oftentimes, we are not aware of the underlying things that influence our gut reactions which can create a barrier to us meeting the goals we set for ourselves. Counseling is a way to help you understand yourself better and to break down those barriers that stop you from moving forward. I have a wide range of experience in helping people navigate identity, trauma, anxiety, and ADHD. I like to really meet people where they are at in their therapy goals, get to know where you want to be, and help you develop skills and tools that will help you meet those goals. I am big on self-compassion and building confidence that can create success.
Hello, I’m Joanna, a compassionate and experienced psychotherapist dedicated to helping adults, college students, and student-athletes navigate life’s challenges. College can be an exciting time, but balancing academic pressure, relationships, independence, finances, athletic responsibilities, and expectations for the future can also feel overwhelming. Whether you are experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship concerns, co-dependency, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, or everyday stress, I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. I also provide therapy for athletes experiencing performance anxiety, difficulty balancing academics and athletics, burnout, injuries, identity concerns, low confidence, and stress related to competition or team expectations. Together, we will explore the challenges you are facing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools to strengthen your coping skills, confidence, emotional well-being, and overall performance. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to your individual needs. I earned my degrees from Northern Kentucky University with honors, specializing in Trauma-Informed Care, and I am currently pursuing my doctorate to expand my clinical expertise. I incorporate a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to ensure that treatment is personalized to your experiences and goals. You do not have to navigate college, athletics, or life’s challenges alone. Taking the first step toward therapy is a courageous decision, and I am here to support you throughout the process.
