Are you feeling overwhelmed and emotional on the inside? You work hard to create the life you want, but you feel like it might fall apart at any moment. Do others view you as the strong friend or family member who saves the day, but there is rarely anyone who consistently shows up for you? You wonder if you’re a people pleaser, too hard on yourself, and why others don’t respect your boundaries. Is there past trauma that could be affecting your current relationships that you need to process? Unmanaged anxiety, depression, or unhealed trauma can leave you feeling dissatisfied with life. As a Caribbean American, I help men and women heal from trauma and toxic relationships by providing a safe, judgment free zone where you can learn new coping strategies to live your best life. I utilize cognitive-behavioral interventions and a psychodynamic and systems-based perspective that focuses on providing you with the tools to do the work to heal yourself. Let us collaborate to improve your emotional intelligence, build your confidence, and maintain healthy relationships with others so you can experience as much joy and peace as possible
My name is Danielle Veader and I work with young adults that are struggling to find balance and enjoyment in their lives. The stress of early adulthood can be really overwhelming. Class work, parental expectations, and navigating relationships is challenging. Anxiety, depression, and/or a general sense of feeling lost can seep in. I work with clients to help them better understand and manage their emotions. I partner with them to acquire the tools and skills to better cope with the inevitable stressors of life. Are you are stuck in a job you hate, aren’t sure if you should stay in your current relationship, or just feel in a “funk” from time to time? If so, therapy is for you. I use a solution-focused approach to help you find the answers you are looking for. I enjoy working with adults (and older teens) who can’t quite figure out how to live their best lives. I specialize in couples – before marriage, when you still have stars in your eyes, after marriage when things are a bit harder than you thought they’d be, and towards the potential end of marriage, when you need to make the tough decision to either stay together or not. My typical clients are high achieving, and motivated people who need some guidance in a particular area of their life, I'll work with you to identify patterns (and people) that keep you stuck, and help find a path forward. I'll also show you how to set boundaries and identify what you can and cannot control, so you can move forward confidently. Sometimes the most difficult part of therapy can be making the decision to start. I am located in the heart of historic Kirkwood in-town Atlanta neighborhood and, am available to do telehealth (video calls) on a case-by-case basis. Give me a call or email today to set up an initial free 15 minute phone consult to see if we would be a good fit!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and Board Certified Life Coach, and Clinical Hypnotherapist that specializes in short-term, holistic approaches. I use approaches that are centered in liberation-focused and feminist therapies/theories which recognize there are often major systems at play (racism, anti-blackness, sexism, classism, misogynoir, capitalism to name a few) influencing how we think and feel about ourselves and our lives. Together, you and I will work to rediscover your authentic self and ways of being that are free from these systems or at the least, engaging with them on your terms. At Flourish Therapy Bar, the personal and the professional are deeply intertwined, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity, joy, sustainability, freedom, accessibility, and courage. These values are ideals and active principles that guide every aspect of our practice.
Hello All! Welcome!, my name is Destiny and I am a licensed professional counselor, certified trauma professional, and EMDR-Trained therapist practicing in the state of Georgia for four years. However, I have been in the mental health field as a student, paraprofessional, advocate, and blogger for 6 years. Over the years I have worked with many diverse individuals and groups in inpatient, private practice, residential, and corrections. I specialize in trauma-informed care, mood disorders, and women's issues, however, I also work with many other diverse issues and populations which has given me the ability to advance my knowledge with people of different cultures, gender, sexuality, and race. My life motto and priority is "Everyone is deserving of a safe space to heal and cope in the present moment." With that, I welcome ALL to join me in a space where you don't have to worry about judgment, and as your therapist, I am here to actively learn your story and guide you on your journey toward peace.
I was born in India, grew up in the Middle East, and immigrated to the United States at the age of eleven. Growing up in three countries taught me to appreciate the diversity of the human experience, but more importantly, helped me understand that deep down inside, many of us want the same things - safety, love, affirmation, and happiness. Following my graduation from Arizona State University in May 2007, I entered the field of mental health with a desire to work in spaces as diverse as the people I intended to help. I began my journey with an internship in private practice, where I developed the skills necessary to treat a wide variety of mood and trauma disorders. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling in May 2012 and spent the next four years working with Native American families on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. My time on the reservation was equal parts rewarding and formative, and it solidified my desire to work with individuals and families who have often been historically overlooked or mistreated in healthcare spaces. Upon moving to Atlanta in 2016, I began my ongoing work with members of local LGBTQ+ communities of color. I also returned to private practice at this time and began my work in daytime television. I was extensively involved with Divorce Court in on and off-camera capacities for several seasons before setting out to found a private practice of my own. The formation of Garuda Counseling is, in many ways, a culmination of my experiences as both a person and as a professional. I am excited to work with individuals for all walks of life, but my passion remains working alongside those who have felt unseen or unheard in traditional counseling spaces. Let’s talk soon - I know we can accomplish great things together.

I have worked in the behavioral health field for over two decades as a Certified Addiction Counselor guiding individuals through their process of self-discovery. I use CBT to help identify underlying beliefs that motivate you to persist in harmful patterns, allowing you to make more successful choices. I enhance my counseling with Motivational Interviewing, experiential and creative interventions while using a social justice framework. I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. My passion is facilitating growth and healing using your intersecting identities, both visible and invisible, as strengths. I most enjoy working with those newly in recovery, using both my clinical skills and my lived experience as a survivor and someone in long-term recovery. In addition to working with addictions and recovery, I am skilled working in the areas of sexuality and relationship structure minorities, BDSM/Kink, anxiety management, aging, career counseling, creativity coaching, mood disorders, divorce recovery, incarceration, and reentry, and those who practice alternative spiritualities. I am sex-positive & sex work positive. Whether you’re in crisis or interested in exploring personal growth, we can work together to build from your strengths to improve your life. Things about me that may interest you: I am a married bi-sexual cis-woman with children, a practicing Wiccan, kinky and polyamorous. I am a teacher and fiber artist who knits, spins, and weaves. My passion is creating. I provide counseling at $250 per 50-minute session to individuals, and $300 to couples and polycules. Sliding scale fees can be negotiated depending on financial need. I also provide continuing education for addiction counselors with a focus on increasing clinical skills in the areas of sexuality and recovery.
Do you ever feel like something is holding you back? Or maybe you just feel like something is off, but you’re not sure what it is? It is okay not to have all of the answers. Figuring things out on your own can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to do it alone. Support is available, and healing is possible. I focus on creating a safe space for you to explore. My goal is to help you build self-esteem, reduce stress and anxiety, clarify goals, build motivation, shift from unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and develop healthier relationships.
I am inspired to work in mental health care because I am passionate about helping individuals overcome challenges, find resilience, and achieve a better quality of life. I find it deeply rewarding to be part of my patients’ journeys toward healing and growth, and I value the opportunity to address the stigma around Mental Health and advocate for compassionate, evidence-based care. I ensure patients feel heard and understood by actively listening, reflecting their thoughts and feelings, and validating their experiences. I create a safe, non-judgmental space, pay attention to verbal and nonverbal cues, and tailor my approach to their unique needs, fostering trust and collaboration. Building trust and a strong Therapeutic Alliance with my patients begins with creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and empathetic environment where they feel heard and respected. I approach each patient with genuine curiosity about their experiences and ensure that I validate their emotions and perspectives. Consistency and reliability are key, so I strive to communicate clearly and follow through on what I say. I also prioritize transparency by explaining my thought process, treatment recommendations, and the rationale behind decisions to involve the patient in their care plan actively. Additionally, I respect their autonomy and individuality, recognizing that trust is earned over time through mutual collaboration and demonstrating my commitment to their well-being.

I specialize in promoting emotional and relational wellness by addressing concerns about depression, anxiety, and other issues resulting from trauma. I am a naturally intuitive and empathetic person, so part of who I am as a therapist is genuinely enjoying listening to people talk about their lives. My primary goal is to create a safe space for you to explore your feelings - snarkiness, self-deprecating humor, cursing, etc. is all welcome and accepted. Over time, I will help you make sense of your experiences and start to see and understand yourself from a more compassionate perspective. I'm also a neuroscience nerd, so another part of who I am as a therapist is helping you understand how your brain works and the how and why of what we’re doing in therapy. We'll talk about subpersonalities, neuroplasticity, memory networks, and more...but don't worry: I have an extensive library of articles, videos, and memes to help explain things. The most important part of who I am as a therapist is believing that therapy isn't just where you learn how to “deal with” mental health problems, but that for those who are ready, therapy can provide real healing. Using IFS-Informed EMDR, I help clients “reconsolidate” trauma memories, allowing you to experience transformational and lasting change.

I have experience working with adults and elderly who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, schizophrenia, bipolar, personality disorders, along with major life transitions and end-of-life decisions. My work with adolescents includes depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, school behavior concerns, and sexual identity. We will talk about negative thoughts and behaviors & learn techniques to alleviate the symptoms you are experiencing using play-, talk-, and/or art- therapy techniques. We will work together to achieve self-acceptance. I will provide a judgment free zone, with a feeling of safety, comfort, and an open mind. I often had difficulty expressing my feelings & my father taught me how to think critically, love unconditionally, never judge, and how to use other forms of self-expression, like art and writing. I was introduced to AA meetings & found comfort & safety to express my thoughts with my father’s life lessons & knew this was my path. I earned my BS in Psychology at Florida State University in 2015 and MS in Counseling with a concentration in mental health at NOVA Southeastern University in 2019. I am Trilingual (English/Spanish/French). I enjoy practicing self care through painting, dancing, singing, travelling, and binge watching TV shows with my husband & fur-baby, Maddy.
"You deserve the BEST. You do have CHOICES. Your choices should bring you PEACE." This is the foundation on which "Dr. Kay" builds and what helped her thrive after battling major depression in college. Initially failing in her major and being forced to withdraw with an emergency mental health leave, Dr. Kay is familiar with battling the unresolved past and pressing toward hopes for the future. Dr. Kay thrives with "young folk" who are seeking to be heard, understood and healed within this unique space.
As human beings, we often find ourselves wanting more freedom, or perhaps wanting more purpose in our lives, or craving a sense of inner peace. Other times, we find ourselves caught up in difficult and challenging relationships in our personal lives or at work. Whether your life feels overwhelming or underwhelming, I believe that care and courage, along with some healthy curiosity can go a long way in helping you locate new possibilities and finding solutions that work for you. My process is not a one-size-fits-all affair. Indeed, the work we do together is unique to each and every individual I encounter and always begins with accepting you just as you are. Beginning the self-exploration of therapy is an act of courage. I respect your bravery by always providing a calm, warm, and nonjudgmental space to discuss and process your concerns. Together, we’ll collaborate in clarifying your goals, identifying effective strategies, and finding a path that will work for you.
