Therapists for college students near 30309
Everyone has a story to tell. The way I see it, life is made of the stories we tell ourselves and the stories we tell others. Trauma, depression, anxiety, and substances can influence and interrupt our story, but if we are mindful about who we are and who we want to be, we can put those occurrences in their proper place. They can exist as something that we went through rather than something that defines us. Everyone holds the power to be the person they want to be, no matter what their past, no matter their present. My job is to assist you in creating the present you want for yourself, so you can build the future you deserve. I work with people of all genders, and sexualities. I aim to help people who’ve been traumatized by events and experiences, as well as those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or recovering from abuse, whether it be from another person, substances, or alcohol. I’d be honored to work with you as you examine and explore yourself and your surroundings in order to write your own story the way you want it to be.

All of us, at some time or other, need help. I work with young adults who are navigating life and find that they need a little help. I have an extensive background in working with grief, as well as experience with anxiety, depression, and other life transitions. For those who do not think of themselves as "talkers" - that's okay! Part of my job is to meet you where you're at and help you feel safe, understood, and accepted for who you are and for who you hope to become.

Trying to deal with chronic health conditions and/or pain while also getting a degree is hard - sometimes frustratingly hard. I provide you with the tools you need to manage the stress of school while also taking care of your body in a way that doesn't leave you feeling exhausted and depleted. I work under the direction of Joy Johnson LCSW and the supervision of Pegge Riley LPC CPCS.
I am passionate about helping young adults process their identity and emotions during life transitions and as they come into who they are. Clients leaving high school, graduating college, entering marriage or their first jobs often find that they are reevaluating what their values are and how their early childhood experiences have affected them. I enjoy working with clients as they walk through these parts of their story and come to understand themselves better.

Hi there! I understand the experiences you’ve had leading up to this decision may have been difficult, and you were able to navigate them the best way possible so far. Reaching out for the help you deserve speaks to your determination to be on a better path! I would be happy to join your support system and be there with you through whatever barriers you may encounter on this journey. These barriers might surface in many different ways: anxiety, depression, struggles with eating, identity crises, social conflicts, trouble focusing, low self-esteem, trauma and/or everyday problems that just don’t seem to let up. I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults that might be struggling with these difficulties. I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens and a blended use of DBT, CBT, IFS and Somatic therapy. Additionally, I offer family therapy to strengthen my clients' connection with their loved ones.

Starting therapy can feel a little intimidating — especially if you’re juggling school, work, relationships, or figuring out your next steps in life. My job is to make that process feel less overwhelming and more like a conversation where you can be your real self. I work with young adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, depression, self-esteem challenges, and big life transitions. I bring a mix of evidence-based tools (like CBT and Solution-Focused Therapy) and plenty of real-world perspective to help you make sense of what’s going on, build confidence, and create changes that actually stick. Sometimes that means breaking down big problems into smaller, doable steps; sometimes it’s about finding new ways to see yourself & your future. Whether you’re feeling stuck, burned out, or just ready to figure yourself out a little more, I’ll meet you where you are — no judgment, no one-size-fits-all advice. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable, understood, and even able to laugh along the way.
If you feel worried or tense or stressed out much of the time I can help. Also, if you have trouble focusing or have ADHD, I'd love to work with you! College and grad school are times of a lot of pressure and a lot of change, but you can do it. I can help. Click on my website to schedule and appointment.

Life can feel heavy, but you don’t have to carry that weight alone. In our time together, we’ll make space for healing, build a more compassionate relationship with yourself, and strengthen the resilience you need to move forward with confidence. I am a Millennial therapist providing virtual sessions who loves to help people achieve a more balanced life. Together, we will explore concerns you may have such as low self-confidence, unhealthy boundaries, stress and anxiety, difficulty completing tasks, career exploration, work/life balance, depression, relationship issues, or even if you just need a listening ear. I aim to create a comforting space that allows you to dive deep to the root causes of your concerns. I currently work with Renewed Journey Counseling Services LLC and am under the supervision of Msichana McDole. I have enjoyed utilizing a person-centered approach to counseling which views the client as the expert on themselves. I have helped clients gain new confidence in themselves, engage in self-care, learn new strategies through CBT, create and maintain healthy boundaries, and overall find balance in their lives. As someone who continues to work on strategies to combat anxiety, I know how important it is to find a therapist who gets you. My clients have enjoyed my direct but comforting approach to sessions. We all need spaces where we can show up as our full, authentic selves—messy, complex, and human. Therapy can be that space: a place where we can slow down together, reflect, and explore what healing and growth might look like for you. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and relationship challenges. My approach is deeply relational—grounded in empathy, respect, and a commitment to understanding your unique story. In our work together, we'll explore what’s been holding you back and what’s helped you get through, always focusing on what feels most meaningful and supportive for you. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, DBT, relational, somatic, and psychodynamic techniques, and I tailor our work to what best supports you. Healing happens in connection, and in our work together, I’ll meet you with care, curiosity, and a focus on what might be possible as we explore a path toward more ease, trust, and connection in your life. If you're curious about starting therapy, please reach out. I’d love to connect and explore what healing and growth could look like for you!
Adapting to new environments, personalities and requirements can be a difficult transition for college students and their families. Additionally, social pressures, feelings of depression and anxiety are common. Unexpected stresses, failures or even success can bring a variety of emotions that may feel overwhelming. I work with individuals (and their families when appropriate and desired by the client) to process experiences, feelings and assist in discovering strengths and coping skills.
