You are the expert on you. I simply seek to work alongside you as a collaborator in your personal growth, healing, and self-discovery. I am certified in EMDR, and I have knowledge and training in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and prenatal/postpartum concerns. We do serious work in session, but I approach my work with lightness, and I firmly believe that lightness lends itself to true connection, growth, and even laughter. I work primarily with adolescents and adults who face relationship challenges, complex trauma, and utilize an eclectic approach. I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with many of my clients who have experienced trauma.

Navigating the transition to college and early adulthood can be exciting, but it can also be incredibly stressful and overwhelming. Are you struggling to manage the pressures of academics, relationships, or being away from home? Do you find yourself constantly worrying, feeling down, or having difficulty sleeping? Are you experiencing conflict with parents, peers, or even professors? Are you questioning whether college is the right path for you, or if you're pursuing it due to external pressure? Everyone experiences some level of stress during this time, but if these feelings are persistent and impacting your daily life, or causing significant relationship strain, it might be helpful to talk to someone. Counseling provides a safe space to explore these challenges, develop coping strategies, and clarify your own goals and values. Our virtual sessions offer the flexibility to meet before, between, or after classes, making it easier than ever to prioritize your mental well-being as you navigate this new chapter. Hi, I'm Dr. J'haria Dallas, and I'm so glad you're here. College can be an exciting and transformative time, but it can also feel overwhelming. Whether you're navigating academic stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, family expectations, career uncertainty, burnout, or major life transitions, you don't have to face it alone. Seeking support is a courageous step, and by being here, you're already investing in yourself and your well-being. My approach to counseling is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help students better understand the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be holding them back while also identifying the strengths and resources they already possess. Together, we'll explore what's beneath the surface, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful goals that align with the life you want to build. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Georgia. Throughout my work as a counselor, educator, and supervisor, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals through some of life's most challenging and uncertain moments. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the power of having a supportive space where you can be authentic, reflect, and grow. I work with college students and young adults who are seeking greater confidence, balance, self-understanding, and connection. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered to navigate challenges while building the skills needed to thrive both personally and academically. More than anything, I believe in your ability to grow through adversity, discover your strengths, and create meaningful change. You don't have to have everything figured out to begin. Wherever you are in your journey, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.

Living with OCD or anxiety can be exhausting. The constant doubt, intrusive thoughts, avoidance and compulsions can make everyday life feel overwhelming— like it's running your life instead of you. I specialize in helping adults break free from OCD, perfectionism, and anxiety disorders. I understand how isolating these struggles can feel, and I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where you can feel understood while learning practical tools to understand anxiety and move toward what truly matters to you. If you're struggling with OCD, we’ll use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD. Together we'll build a concrete treatment plan, and with steady support, you’ll gradually face fears, and reduce compulsions, building confidence and learning that you can handle uncertainty without relying on rituals. To address anxiety and perfectionism, I integrate CBT and ACT techniques, so you can develop a healthier mindset and respond to difficult thoughts with more flexibility and self-compassion. Therapy is active and goal-oriented, but always grounded in warmth and respect. I’d love to support you in this process.

I believe that mental health is a journey of piecing together multiple working parts, and I hope to be a part of that process with you. About Me I hold a PhD in Social Work and I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving the states of Georgia and Maryland. I received my PhD from the University of Alabama, my MSW from the University of Georgia, and BA from The University of Alabama. I have multiple years of clinical experience among various populations (children, teens, families, and young adults), various backgrounds, and in numerous settings (residential, inpatient, outpatient, private practice). I also currently hold an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Social Work. I am someone with whom people generally feel at ease and comfortable, which is an important part of what makes therapy work. My initial goal within the therapeutic relationship is to provide you with just that: a positive, safe, and comfortable place, where you feel at ease to talk about things that matter to you. Outside of work, I enjoy hanging out with my pets, finding challenging hikes, cooking/baking, going to the beach/finding water, gardening, exploring the city, and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy picking up new creative projects and DIYs! Who I Help & What I Help With Who I Can Help 1. Children (6-12) 2. Teens (13-17) 3. Emerging & Young Adults (18-29) 4. Adult Couples What I Can Help With 1. Relationship issues or losing a relationship 2. Adjusting to and navigating life transitions 3. Improving unhealthy/disruptive habits and behaviors 4. Feeling sad or depressed 5. Trauma and loss 6. Feeling overwhelmed or anxious 7. Feeling alone or disconnected from others 8. Experiencing stress at work, school, or home 9. Conflict resolution and problem-solving 10. Learning to value and love yourself My Approach Types of Therapies It’s not uncommon for someone to enter therapy a bit nervous and with no clear sense of where to start – they simply want things to change for the better and to feel like themselves again. You are the expert of your own experience, but it’s easy to lose your way and feel lost when in distress. I will meet you wherever you are and help you piece things back to a sense of what normal feels like for you. The best approach is one that works for you, so I may draw on several different approaches to therapy, all of which have been shown by research to help individuals reduce stress, gain clarity, and make changes in their lives. They include but are not limited to: 1. Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) 2. Psychodynamic Therapy 3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) 4. Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) 5. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) 6. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) 7. Person-Centered Therapy 8. Narrative Therapy 9. Culturally Sensitive Therapy Services & Payment Things to Know First 1. At this time, all sessions will be remote/virtual and take place through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. 2. You may choose the mode with which you are most comfortable (i.e., video, phone). 3. Virtual sessions are a great option for accessibility and flexibility, but please be sure to first, consider whether this is the most appropriate option for you at this time. How to Get Started Ready to get started? For scheduling of any kind (free consult, intake, regular sessions, etc.), just head to the “Contact Me” tab or the “book appointment” link at the bottom of every page of this website. You can schedule your first appointment on your own and whenever you’re ready with no initial contact required. Please note that I am committed to your privacy. Therefore, please do not include confidential or private information if you choose to email or call. Further and more detailed information will be exchanged through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. I look forward to speaking with you! Visits with me typically involve the following types of sessions: Intake Session: Assessment & Planning (60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $200) It’s important to feel comfortable with your therapist, and while you have the option of beginning with a phone consultation or intake session, the first few sessions serve to help you and me decide whether the therapeutic relationship will be the best fit. The intake also serves as an Assessment and Planning phase, which is focused on learning more in depth about you, your history, and what brings you to therapy. This phase also allows me to begin putting together a plan for future sessions if you are comfortable with moving forward. All follow up sessions after the initial intake session will be considered a regular therapy session. Regular Individual Therapy Session (30-60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $90-$180) Following the Assessment and Planning phase, we’ll decide when and how often to meet. Session time frames depend on your treatment needs and personal circumstances and are guided by the plan we develop together. Please note that 30-minute sessions are private pay only. These sessions may work well for children and adolescents, day-to-day check-ins, more solution-focused sessions, quicker access to therapy, etc. Regular Family Therapy Session With Client (30 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $108, Private Pay Only) When needed, family sessions provide an opportunity to strengthen communication, address relational dynamics, and support your child or adolescent’s progress in treatment. These sessions may include parents/guardians, caregivers, and/or siblings depending on the goals we establish together. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Brief Family Therapy Session Without Client (15 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $54, Private Pay Only) These brief check-ins offer a dedicated space for parents and caregivers to share observations, ask questions, and stay connected to their child’s therapeutic progress without the client present. They are not a replacement for regular family sessions but rather, serve as a lightweight touchpoint between sessions when needed. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Couples Therapy Session (60 minutes; $216, Private Pay Only) Couples therapy sessions provide a structured space to address relational concerns, improve communication, and work toward shared goals within the relationship. These sessions are designed to support both partners in understanding relational patterns, navigating conflict more effectively, and building a stronger foundation for daily functioning together. Please note that all couples therapy sessions of any length are private pay only. Payment Options In-Network Insurance & Third-Party Payers I currently accept the following insurance plans in Georgia: 1. Aetna 2. Cigna/Evernorth 3. United Healthcare/UBH/Optum 4. Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans I currently accept the following insurance plans in Maryland: 1. Aetna 2. Cigna/Evernorth 3. United Healthcare/UBH/Optum 4. Medicaid/Carelon Behavioral Health 5. Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans This means that if you are enrolled in any of these plans (or potentially any of their subsidiaries), your out-of-pocket expense is limited to your deductible and copay/coinsurance. While I can assist in determining what these costs will be, it may be helpful to ask your insurance provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 2. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *I am currently working to become a provider in network with Anthem as well as any applicable subsidiaries under Anthem in the state of Georgia. I am also currently working to become a provider in network with CareFirst as well as any applicable subsidiaries under CareFirst in the state of Maryland. Private Pay & Out-of-Network Reimbursement I also accept private pay, and if you have another insurance provider, you may also have out-of-network benefits. With this option, your insurance benefits may reimburse the majority of the cost of therapy. With both private pay and out-of-network reimbursement, you will be provided with automatic invoices, statements, and superbills for any needed reimbursements later from your insurance provider. I recommend calling your insurance provider to learn more about how reimbursement works. It may be helpful to ask your provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. Does my plan provide out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health services? 2. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 3. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *Lack of insurance coverage, privacy concerns, flexibility, and quicker access to care are only a few of the reasons why one might choose this option. Cancellation Policy All clients are required to have an active credit/debit card on file at the time of scheduling an appointment. For appointment no-shows, last-minute cancellations, or inactive insurance, you will be charged in full regardless of reason. This is necessary, as a time commitment is made and held exclusively for you. You may still apply this fee to future appointments. Contact Me Ready to get started? I work with adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or significant life changes. Some know exactly what brings them to counseling; others simply know that something isn't right. Together, we identify what is getting in the way, build on your strengths, develop healthier ways of coping, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. I provide individualized counseling using approaches such as CBT, trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, and IFS-informed strategies. I especially enjoy helping clients understand how past experiences may influence present thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors while developing practical tools for change. Reaching out for counseling can feel difficult, especially when you aren't sure where to begin. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what is wrong. We can start where you are, without judgment, and work together to understand what you're experiencing and identify a path forward.
Dr. Whitney Calhoun
Compassion and collaboration are key elements in growing through any life circumstance. Together, we can build a foundation to move forward with insight, hope, and change. I believe therapy is a collaborative process that brings your unique life circumstances and experiences to a safe and warm environment. While growth and change are a life-long process, each challenge can be addressed within a supportive counseling relationship to bring awareness and change. In working from a client-centered perspective, my goal is to work side by side and help you achieve the life you desire. My approach to therapy is largely client-centered wherein I strive to make each client feel comfortable and safe, while simultaneously exploring a cognitive-behavioral model, psychodynamic aspects, trauma-focused, and interpersonal interventions. I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Georgia and completed my clinical internship with college students at Georgia Southern University. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, self-concept, family/relational concerns, infertility and perinatal loss, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, life transitions, and men’s concerns. Additionally, I provide assessments in the areas of psychoeducational assessment, ADHD, learning disabilities, and bariatric assessments. Please feel free to ask me any questions about therapy services or assessment opportunities. I currently offer both in-person and virtual sessions.

You want to appear like you have it all together, but deep down you feel lost, empty, and like something is missing. You've been working on yourself for years, but you are still anxious, still people pleasing, and still asking yourself “what is wrong with me?” You feel like a chameleon and like people don’t know the real you, even worse-you don’t know the real you anymore. You’re tired of going through the motions of life without actually living it. You know it’s time to change and you’re ready to dive into your darkness to face your demons. You’re ready to do the hard work, but need a guide to show you how. And then you find me! I help introspective women struggling with anxiety and low self-esteem stop people pleasing and finally feel safe enough to be unapologetically themselves—by reconnecting with who they truly are and what they deeply want. Together we explore your inner world & make deep level changes so you can become the person you are meant to be. Clients come to me for a relaxed and comfortable counseling space, shoes are optional! In my office, clients feel safe to take up space and be seen. It’s not too late for you to change your life. You are not too far gone and you’re not too broken. You’re just a mosaic and together we can put those pieces back together so you can increase your self-esteem and be a version of you that you are proud of. Head to my website for more information or to schedule a session. I look forward to connecting with you!

What are you seeking? Whether or not the answer to this question is clear to you, my guess is you are aware of a deep sense of wanting to feel or live differently. I'd like to help you connect more fully with your own best qualities, your passions, and the vision you have for yourself and your life. Let's build these visions, while also facing the challenges that offer resistance, so that you can take action toward creating meaningful and lasting change. It would be my privilege to be your ally and support you in this process. You deserve to be seen, heard, and understood. I bring a strong client-centered, interpersonal, and experiential approach to this work. I enjoy using nature as a context for healing and your own creativity as a catalyst for exploring what matters to you and connecting you to your best self. I am committed to facilitating a powerful experience that leads to transformative change for you and often utilize an Internal Family Systems approach to support that.

Maybe your life looks good on paper, but things feel much harder on the inside than anyone could ever guess. You might be great at keeping up with school, work, relationships, and everything else expected of you, but underneath it all, you feel like you are going to explode with anxiety, exhaustion, and constantly trying to figure out how to keep it all together. Racing thoughts, avoidance, and emotions that feel bigger and harder than they “should be” might be getting in the way of the life and the peace you wish for. If you are trying hard to understand yourself and wondering why things that seem easy for other people feel so hard for you, I would love to help you start to sort through those challenges. I have more than ten years of experience working in schools, residential treatment settings, and therapeutic environments with teens, young adults, and families navigating complex emotional and behavioral challenges. Many of my clients are struggling with anxiety, emotional dysregulation, avoidance, trauma, and neurodivergence. I work with people who are often creative, passionate, kind, and hard working, and who’ve had to learn to adapt, mask, overthink, people-please, or hold themselves to impossibly high standards in order to feel safe, successful, or accepted. I am kind, direct, and grounded in my work with clients. I won’t judge you for the ways you have learned to cope, but I also won’t be afraid to gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is to create a relationship where you feel understood enough to be honest and supported enough to try something different. I believe that insight and practical skills can work together. Alongside exploring deeper emotional patterns and past experiences, I help young people build skills for managing anxiety, communicating their needs, navigating relationships, setting boundaries, tolerating difficult emotions, and handling the everyday challenges that can make life feel overwhelming.

Adjusting to college life can be difficult on so many levels. I can help with anxiety and depression issues that you've been struggling with for a long time or that are new to you. Issues I often see are related to adjusting to being independent for the first time, the rigor of school, or navigating new social circles. I have special expertise in helping folks with body-focused repetitive behaviors (skin picking, hair pulling) as well as being training in cognitive behavioral treatment of insomnia.

Why This Might Be Right for You If you’re a student looking for a compassionate professional who understands the unique pressures of campus life, we might be a great fit. I know that simply being around others feels like an almost impossible task much of the time; people can be selfish, ignorant, and judgmental, at times even your family and friends. You've endured abuse and often are overwhelmed with emotion. Your external life and what you feel within yourself can feel wholly disconnected -- It is precisely because of this disconnection that we suffer. I am here to listen, to learn of your experiences, and together we will awaken a new sense of yourself by discovering a hidden humanity in others, revealing a world you never thought possible. You don’t have to live disconnected, suffering without end. I approach healing from a relational perspective, in which I believe our most powerful tool for change can be harnessed through relationships. We all naturally have the capacity to relate in ways that promote growth, we simply have never been shown how. I’m here to nurture this experience with you. I understand that taking the step to engage in therapy is a big ask. Trust isn’t easy; it’s fragile. But, I profoundly believe in the power of developing a relationship that promotes learning and spurs curiosity. It’s spiritual for me - the essence of joy, love, and beauty, and I truly wish for all to experience it. Will you take this step with me?
Mary L Godard, LLC
I get it. You can’t eat. You can’t sleep. Your heart feels like it is beating out of your chest. You feel alone. You put everyone else first and wonder when it will be your turn. You don’t even like the person in the mirror, so how can you hope to find acceptance from anyone else? Is your main concern your body size or shape? Your sexual orientation? The role others expect of you? You are overwhelmed by feelings you don’t even understand. You wonder if you will be stuck like this forever. You want the thoughts on loop in your head to stop, so you can get some rest. You want to be your authentic self… once you figure out what that means. You crave connection and community – to find where you belong. You seek balance. I can help.
Chloie Eberhard
College is a lot. You’re expected to keep up with classes, friendships, relationships, work, family expectations, and decisions about your future—all while somehow figuring out who you are and what you want your life to look like. Sometimes it can feel like everyone else has it figured out while you’re just trying to keep your head above water. I tend to work best with students who may look like they’re holding everything together on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted, stuck, or unsure of themselves underneath it all. Maybe your mind never seems to shut off. Maybe you’re struggling with motivation or falling behind when you know you’re capable of more. Maybe relationships feel complicated, you have a hard time setting boundaries, or you’re starting to realize that things from your past are showing up in your life now. Or maybe you can’t quite explain what’s going on—you just know you haven’t felt like yourself lately. You don’t need to have the perfect words for what you’re experiencing before coming to therapy. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on, either. Sometimes we start with what happened this week. Sometimes we talk about something you’ve been carrying for years. Sometimes we figure it out together as we go. My goal is to create a space where you don’t feel like you have to perform, have the “right” answer, or convince me that what you’re going through is hard enough to matter. I want therapy to feel like a real conversation—one where you can laugh, cry, vent, be frustrated, ask questions, learn about yourself, and still leave with tools you can actually use outside of our sessions. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety and overthinking, depression, trauma, burnout, self-esteem, identity, relationships, family struggles, or simply trying to navigate this very weird transition into adulthood, you don’t have to have everything figured out before you reach out. We can start exactly where you are.
