I often work with students who are dealing with anxiety, school stress, family conflict, or feeling overwhelmed by expectations. You might feel like you’re trying to keep everything together while struggling on the inside. In therapy, we’ll slow things down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and develop skills that help you feel more grounded in yourself and supported in life. I also encourage parent coaching sessions to help caregivers learn tools to better support their child’s emotional growth.
I believe that in order to truly be able to help my clients I must always present as my authentic self. What that means is that you can expect me to share my honest thoughts and opinions, to be direct & concise, to incorporate humor as often as possible, and I won’t shy away from discomfort or conflict. While at the same time balancing that by providing you with unconditional positive regard, empathy, and support. I 100% believe that in order for therapy to be effective the client-therapist relationship must be genuine and both parties must carry mutual respect and trust for each other. This is something I strive to create and build-up starting from our first several interactions; as well as something I work hard to maintain up until our very last session. I am trauma informed therapist that specializes in working with professionals in the helping field (ie. first responders, educators, nurses, therapists, etc), with parents and children with behavioral issues, and have extensive experience working with BIPOC, immigrants, and AAPI communities. In our first session, we'll talk through what brought you in and get clear on what you want to walk away with — so we're aligned on what this space is for and what my role will be. Together we'll build a plan with intention and direction, not open-ended sessions that drift. Over time, the goal isn't just to feel less anxious or triggered. It's to trust yourself again, hold your story with compassion, and move through the world without needing to translate yourself.

You might be a good fit for working with me if you feel like you’re holding a lot inside. Maybe you look like you have it together on the outside, but internally you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or exhausted—especially when it comes to relationships with family, partners, or friends. You might be dealing with stress from school while also trying to navigate breakups, family tension, or long-standing patterns in relationships that you don’t fully understand yet. Maybe you’ve caught yourself thinking, “I should be able to handle this,” but something still feels stuck. If you tend to be someone who cares deeply about others, takes on responsibility, and pushes through—even when it’s hard—you’re not alone. Many students I work with feel this way. They’re not broken or failing; they’re just tired of carrying everything by themselves. If you’re looking for a space where you can slow down, talk honestly, and learn practical ways to cope while also making sense of what you’re going through, we’ll likely work well together. You don’t have to have all the answers—just a willingness to show up as you are.
I'm an LGBTQIA+, anxiety, and trauma therapist, working with students across Colorado. Do you feel weighed down by anxiety, trauma, identity struggles, or the lasting impact of religious harm? Many of my clients are LGBTQIA+ adults or survivors of religious trauma who carry exhaustion, dread, and fear from living in systems that questioned, silenced, or shamed who they are. Clients also come to me with anxiety, which often shows up as hypervigilance, burnout, or the ache of feeling like you're not enough. You may long for healing and the freedom to be fully yourself. You are not alone, healing is possible, and your story matters. I provide affirming, trauma-informed therapy rooted in narrative, somatic, and liberation-focused practices. Together we’ll untangle harmful messages that have shaped you, teach your body to feel safe, calm your nervous system, and re-author the stories holding you back. You'll reclaim your identity while moving toward a more authentic and empowered life. As a queer-affirming, feminist, and anti-oppressive therapist, I offer care that is tender, respectful, and at the right pace for you. Whether you’re healing from trauma, recovering from a harmful spiritual background, or seeking growth beyond anxiety or hard life transitions, I'll walk with you in it. My practice focuses on helping clients with relationship issues, infidelity, and financial therapy. If you are struggling to find your place on campus and feel like an outsider and an imposter, I've been there, and I can help you build stronger connections with those around you and with your own self! My speciality area is helping people better understand their relationship to money and class and understand how their history and feelings around money impact their everyday life on campus and their relationships. If this sounds like you, set up a consultation through my website below. In addition to standard psychotherapy sessions, I offer long therapy sessions called intensives if you have trouble making time for regularly scheduled therapy.
My commitment to you is to always meet you where you are, to work closely to gain an understanding of your goals, and help you implement the necessary skills and interventions to achieve those goals. I pride myself on being "all in" for my clients: being fully present, understanding people's journeys, and seeing where they're coming from and where they're headed. Solving problems and celebrating progress—these are the steps we'll take together on your journey.
If you're looking for a kind and compassionate yet smart and straightforward counselor, give me a call. I am a Christian and can offer help from a biblical perspective if desired. My other specialties are older adults and military/veterans. My previous career was as a diplomat for the U.S. Department of State.
I believe that meaningful change begins with acceptance, self-compassion, and a safe space to explore life's challenges. Together, we work to identify patterns, process difficult experiences, and develop practical tools that foster healing, growth, and lasting change. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices and tailored to meet each client's unique needs. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive and behavioral approaches, mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-informed care. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process traumatic experiences, reduce emotional distress, and strengthen adaptive beliefs. Erbie is a Licensed Social Worker dedicated to creating affirming, trauma-informed spaces where healing and self-determination can take root. I help diverse populations, including individuals, families, and couples, navigate relationship challenges, trauma, addiction, self-esteem, and emotional struggles. My style is warm and engaging, utilizing an integrative, humanistic, and emotionally focused approach to support you in understanding patterns, building resilience, and creating healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. I’m passionate about the belief that healing happens through safe connection, self-compassion, and understanding our emotional experiences. If you’re looking to feel more understood, grounded, and connected to the life you desire, please reach out today. I believe in meeting people with compassion and curiosity, which helps me be a steady, supportive partner in your healing. You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. Working together, you are empowered to start putting the pieces together in a collaborative and welcoming space, with therapy tailored to your unique story, values, and goals. I use emotionally focused and integrative approaches to help you feel safer, more connected, and more confident. After years working in higher education, and having lost people in my community to addiction, I felt called to help people more deeply, especially communities facing barriers, so they can heal and reach their full potential. I’ve seen firsthand the cultural and religious stigma around mental health, and I wanted to help people feel less alone and more willing to seek support. I continue to believe therapy can be preventive, not just a last resort, and am dedicated to being a source of safety and hope for those in need. I enjoy activities that allow me to connect with others, explore new places, and stay active and balanced. That’s why you’ll often find me in the great outdoors going on hikes and hitting the ski trails or cozied up at home baking and practicing yoga. I also love spending time with family and friends and traveling to new states and countries.
I work best with people who are curious about understanding themselves and the experiences that have shaped them. Many of the students and clients I support are navigating anxiety, stress, relationships, identity, career questions, major life decisions, or feeling unsure about their next steps. In addition to being a counselor, I am a psychology and career development educator. I regularly work with college students exploring their strengths, values, goals, and the question many of us face during transitions: “Who am I, and where do I want to go from here?” My approach is collaborative and human. Together, we explore your story with curiosity rather than criticism, better understand patterns, reconnect with your strengths and values, and build practical tools to help you move forward with more intention.
